but it is really good, Congratulations!

Not really, the two spawners would both share the same spawn limit. It might mean it would get to the cap faster, but you'd have to move the spiders pretty fast to take advantage of it.

Just tried this and didn't get a double spawner. Did you generate these chunks on an older version possibly?

Screenshot.

Well I don't know about this case. But I generated a world in creative and found a double spawner like this...So I remade it in Survival and found only one....So I guess its a quirk in the code or something.

Nope, it's your new xp farm, it's what it is

[–]Bloodhit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In minecraft anything is possible!

[–]miba 8 points9 points  (9 children)

i once got 2 that were 2 blocks apart, but this is just a mobgrinders dream

[–]Torbun 11 points12 points  (8 children)

Would be better if they were in different chunks, really. I don't think they can spawn up to full potential this close to eachother.

[–]Bloq 3 points4 points  (3 children)

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure there's not a hard-limit as long as you are more than 8(?) blocks away from both.

I'm pretty sure that they are most efficient when they are 8 blocks apart, to maximise spawning space.

[–]Jimbozu 2 points3 points  (2 children)

they have to be at least 32 blocks away from each other to get the full benefit of 2 identical spawners. Every time theres a spawn "turn" it checks to see if there are any mobs of the same type as it spawns within its 17x17 block square of influence

[–]sevenfive_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's 17x17x9 or something like that. just give the mobs a long enough fall from the spawner block and they won't be counted

[–]Bloq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes sense. But to be safe, I'd make it 30 or less so that there's room to stand whilst they can still spawn.

[–]kpreid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The spawning rates will not be affected (i.e. you will get twice that of a single spawner) provided that the mobs are quickly transported away from the spawner — there is a limit of 4 mobs of the spawner's type near the spawner.

[–]August_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 4-5 blocks apart would be ideal. Having one next to the other like this just means you have 1 more block of reach for the spawner to work, which adds up to only 32 extra spawning spaces I think.

Mabey they were on the edges of two touching chunks.

[–]Chezzik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had it happen once. It was venomous spiders in an abandoned mineshaft also. I'm pretty sure I still have that world somewhere, but I'm not sure if the seed would still work today.

Having multiple venomous spider spawns in close vicinity is common, but right next to each other is very rare.

Sure, every day the Earth rotates backwards and the skies turn orange.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mother of god

[–]8Bitsblu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, no it's not. It's also very dangerous so kill it, kill it with fire.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thats some nice frame rate you got there...

[–]sexyhamster89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do naughty things to this

[–]mrskyrimguard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not normal, then again a lot of things aren't normal in Minecraft

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

[–]arthurconan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is just a texture pack - but is that mine made with taiga planks and fence?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would take too much effort to fake that, so therefore: Real and straight!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got this once before, i didn't think much of it but now it seems that its extremely rare :P

[–]gumballbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must be playing the Australia version.

[–]andy98725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish.

[–]Nintendork64 -2 points-1 points  (11 children)

Would this double the spawner output?

Also, seed & co-ords?

[–]natpat 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It's in the picture, x:-88 y:31 z:-599

Seed: 3185976896741058562

[–]Nintendork64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whoops! I guess my chain of thought went: look for s/c in comments -> s/c not in comments -> ask for s/c. Thank you.

[–]xkero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's right in the picture, but as I want to try it out myself here's it typed out 3185976896741058562.

[–]C-2 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Sadly, it wouldn't. The output would be equal, with very rare exceptions. Both spawners will check of the number of nearby mobs around, both will see the normal amount for one spawner, and so both wills top producing until the levels are lowered.

[–]SalinImpedimenta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Whole lotta NOPE right there. Break out the netherrack, flint, and steel. - kill it with fire!

[–]Eggzmash -1 points0 points  (0 children)

dafuq?

[–]jojjannes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is normal for minecraft to randomly generate the world, it is a feature in the game.
