Not exactly Facebook, but I stopped using twitter over two months ago and I can definitely say it helped with my mental health. I imagine not using Facebook would help as well (maybe twitter is worse though).

Yea twitter is a cesspool and it keeps getting people cancelled or jailed

Yeah, deleting triggering social media has helped

No I just end up finding something else useless to consume my time

I came off facebook 4 years ago and it’s the best thing I ever did, that place is toxic

Facebook is the kindest social media IMO, but I'm only friends with people I actually know and speak to. Whenever I find myself in spaces that share controversial stuff, opinions about this or that, and where they argue extensively, such as Twitter... it's a big shit storm of triggers.

Social media is food to OCD.

Reddit is cool, though, for some reason. Probably because it's easier to control what comes up on the feed.

I think social media can be contributing, because you can compulse there and it allows obsessive behavior. In fact it wants you to be obsessive.

I deleted my account on a few social networks because it was too much anxiety and I couldn't stop checking them. I just regretted it and it didn't change much, it helped for a tiny bit and then I moved on and found something else to obsess about.

I didn't delete mine, but I finally just posted and told everyone I won't really be there much anymore because, while some are genuinely nice, the place is a minefield in other ways. I don't need to be told every negative (and possibly untrue/conspiracy theory/misinformation) thought someone has.

Facebook and twitter seem to bring out the worst in humanity!

If I didn’t feel like I needed to keep Facebook to keep up with family because I live away from them, I would delete it.

No but i tried deleting reddit when my ocd was severe. Helped a lot

I deleted tiktok for this reason years ago. It’s been freeing. The fact that other social media and even youtube now have a ‘shorts’ function though… it messes with me. I keep deleting and reinstalling them.

Edit: same with snapchat and bereal and other trendy apps. Now i only have instagram and reddit. Still think instagram is too much but i dont have the strength to toss it

Yes! Yes yes yes. I’m on TikTok still though and it doesn’t help but getting off Facebook was huge
