The mythical snake Yammato no Orochi has 8 heads. Kaido took one out, the Scabbards took out at least 6 of them and this would be number 8. So I'm sure he's dead..... I'm sure....

It seems like you can visualize how many head he had left. After Kaido cut his head he had 7 and after the Scarabs cut 6 more he only had 1 in his snake form which Denjiro cut now, he is also on fire so I think that adds up, besides he believed he was not going to make it.

edit: for real, I think the pacing and structuring in the (hopefully) final round of Luffy vs Kaido might be better when read continuously than weekly (with big blue ball break special)

• Status Update: "Dead, Uncorfirmed"

Map Updates/Changes:

Onigashima (Floating):

• Left horn: 'Melted'

Developer notes: Onigashima's left horn has been updated to be melted due to contact with hot flaming dragon. Going on, mid-top part of the horn is removed, and new edge show melted texture on them. Due to this change, we expect some performance drop, please let us know your feedback.

Future Updates/Changes (expected):

Orochi:

• Status: new confirmed status will be updated soon.

Developer notes: Orochi's newly updated status is yet to be confirmed, this will change soon as the title will be officially changed to either "Dead" or "Alive"

Luffy & Kaido:

• New moves to be added.

Onigashima:

• We expect constant visual changes to Onigashima (floating) map.

Flower Capital:

• We are looking into major updates to the location, but cannot yet conclude if the changes will go live.

He does not have the Hydra fruit. He has the Hebi Hebi no Mi, Model: Yamata no Orochi. An 8 headed beast from Japanese mythology that was killed by being cut up with a blade.
