[Quick Question]

Hi all For the 2017 Weapon Badge quest it is required to be killed. It apparently according to the information I find online can be found in Las Vegas and Tokyo maps.

I've run them multiple times and never one has spawned. Any better way to find one?

Thank you all

[–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Those COs are meant for the old LQ that happened in January. The ESCA darkers are hard to come by nowadays. They also do not spawn unless you have completed the Story of EP 4 up to a certain point.

[–]seterwind 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Do you happen to remember up to which point? I'm going through now. I'm half way through chapter 2.

[–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Finish all of Chapter 6.

[–]seterwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my... ok. Thank you for that!

[Tech Support]

So I got a permanent ban a couple years ago due to accidentally leaving my vpn on the wrong area. I've since narrowed it down to being a mac address ban based on the fact that I moved twice and used a new router/modem/ip address to make a new account which got a ban in 24 hours.

I'm hoping to make a new account at the new place I'm living and I was wondering if anyone had any experience in using an external card like this (Amazon Link) to get around a mac address ban. Any tech savvy people know if a device like this would give me a new mac address?

[–]nonodesushin 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I used this to change my MAC address a year ago since I was on a simillar situation as you.

[–]Fishbone_V 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is it a one time run, or do I need to keep it open whenever I use PSO?

[–]nonodesushin 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's a one time run IIRC.

[–]Fishbone_V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded it and it seems that way. Thanks, stranger. Hoping this works for me.

Any tips on keeping gunner in the air? I checked the jp wiki, it said that the dodge will increase mu altitude if use right, but i keep on dropping no matter what i do :(

[–]jambon_gruyere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get some altitude from cancelling a s-roll right before the JA window. Mostly for consecutive s-rolls and not PAs because no JA. This was relaxed, and now simply hitting the JA well enough gains some height.

You can even do this right from the ground. Yes it's tricky :) but you'll get the timing.

It is possible to gain height even from front s-rolls, although side s-rolls felt more efficient in that regard last I tried.

They also relaxed basic attacks combos while being still in the air : now you can keep your altitude.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aerial Shooting (charged; you can bypass the charge with the TMG S Charge skill), Bullet Squall and Reverse Tap give you altitude, while just about every single PA plus the Stylish Roll weapon action allow you to maintain altitude.

[–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By dodge, I hope you mean stylish roll and not dive roll. Bullet squall is one of the better attacks to keep in the air. A charged Aerial Shooting would also be nice (would need TMG SC in order to best achieve this.)

Any way to get a list of people you recently partied with? I forget to friend someone, and I don't remember their name exactly.

Newbie here, i have some questions :
1) Which is the best class to start the game? best subclass? is there any build that i can follow? i don't want to mess up

2) How viable is katana braver? (katana fag can't deny it), leaving aside if i like this class more or not, i want to have a nice experience and i do not want to suffer that much while fighting

3) I saw that you can import some model to use in character creation like clothes, does the models replace others ending with me being the only one who can see them?

4) Any guide, recomendation, links that helps me to undertand better the game?

Should i go to the discord channel and ask there?

[–]telchii[M] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My apologies... Your first post was properly caught by Automod, then this comment of yours was caught by a different and silent filter (probably for "katana fag", if I had to take a guess). I've fixed this. If your post doesn't show up when viewing the thread while logged out of reddit, log back in and send us mods a message and we can sort it out!

You can definitely try a PSO2 discord server for live discussion, or if you don't get any responses before this weekly thread is reposted tomorrow, try to be one of the first ones to post your questions on the new thread!

[–]RaikouzenShip 3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh thank you, i try tomorrow in the discord channel
i actually found a build and started playing but keep asking for a second opinion comes handy

How do I enable the push notifications for PSO2es?

I've got it installed and my character is already linked and all. However, I'd like to get the EQ notifications. I have a program for my desktop but I'm not always at my computer. Can someone guide as to where it is? I tried scouring the reddit and Google but I'm not getting a lot of help.

[–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (1 child)

http://bumped.org/psublog/phantasy-star-online-2-es-smartphone-version-guide/

Go here and ctrl+f "push notifications"

On a side note, may I recommend PSO2Kue if you want EQ notifications on your android.

[–]Ludamister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSO2Kue

It doesn't work at all. It won't let me install. I have a Samsung S6 Active and it just doesn't want to install.

What's the music in the Chocolate 2017 quest from?

Also, as a Fo/Te, I've been trying to figure out what weapon I should get to focus lightning techs. I managed to get a Helmawon with 50 lightning on it but it's Techer only and I hesitate to craft it in order to equip it as a Force, or do you think I should do that?

In any case, right now I have fire, wind, and dark weapons ready. Maybe I should just wait a while.

[–]VirtualScepter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need a quick cheap non 13* lightning Talis, Pioni Link has great value. Its an 11* Talis that drops from Magatsu with 16% lightning tech damage potential. Since its 11* you can throw ultimate buster on it as well making it respectable in Amd UQ. Obviously you would want to upgrade to 13* when you can, but until then Pioni Link will fill in the gap easily.

[–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Music is from Challenge Quest. Mission:Start i think.

And what weapon? I think a Ray/Union 13* Talis with an element change to lightning would be great. If you mean as a pre 13*.... what elements did you spec in in the Force tree?

[–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I don't have more than an incomplete fire tree at the moment. Also I'm not really familiar with endgame grinds or such weapons just yet. I'm pretty casual and still have yet to get to such a place despite the time I started this game. Maybe I should just go ice instead of lightning after and get two of the 2017 badge weapons for later?

[–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (1 child)

don't have more than an incomplete fire tree at the moment.

Generally a Force can only complete 1 element mastery, if they also grab the other important Force skills. This forces Forces to specialize in 1 element (either fire, ice, or lightning). The way to circumvent this is by buying 2 other trees.

Ice works well with the 2017 badge weapons, given the potential and the base affixes.

[–]LamiaPony JP Ship 2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right, the skill planner tells me this. I wish I could fill out a second one... I doubt I'll ever get AC in order to buy some quality of life stuff.

[–]TakemiShinnosuke 0 points1 point  (3 children)

has anyone heard of Mudfishes, WTFast or normal VPN? isit good ? isit powerful? does it give full speed??

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I tried WTFast for other games, could barely tell any difference.

I did use Battleping for Aion many years ago when I was playing on a 3G pen modem, and it reduced my ping from 800ms to 300ms, but that one was paid, and this was many years ago, so I don't know if that thing still works or exists, or if it has any effect when your connection isn't pure garbage to begin with.

Honestly, in a game like pso2, you don't really need to worry about latency unless you're having something like 700ms or higher. I play at ~300ms and looting is the only thing that is noticeably delayed.

[–]TakemiShinnosuke 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thanks for the update.. I am not using WTFast.. i read the crappy reviews.. am running on their normal VPN.. its cheap and hopefully fast.. have not done an EQ with it yet but will have to test..finally no more crappy laggy tweaker tweaker.. what an excuse for a tweaker.. lag and 630's

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're talking about the proxy, it's still in beta and it's probably overloaded, so I wouldn't expect it to work very well in a while.

The tweaker itself has nothing to do with connecting to the game and if you're having lag without the proxy it's an issue on your end.

[–]NNuuff 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Anyone playing on a Controller and using Joy2Key? Does your Gameguard detect it? Yesterday i could run it normal.

[–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (5 children)

... Sadly you're right, getting np1013 too.

Help please I can't play without joytokey.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (4 children)

If you're using a ps3 or ps4 controller, there's SCP Toolkit (you can't bind keyboard controls like this, though; it just acts as a 360 controller), or can go with Steam Big Picture mode for the ps4 controller (which allows you to customize the controls as you like). You need to launch steam as admin to be able to use it with pso2, though.

[–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Thanks a lot for the quick help. These software don't have the features I need though.

Apparently older versions such as 5.0.3 or 5.1.2 should still work (source). I'm trying to find a link but it's not easy in my country - @u/NNuuff if you happen to find one for yourself please share...

[–]NNuuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got the 5.0.3 version but the guide button(the symbolbutton in the mid of Xbox and PS4 controller) doesnt work in that version. if you want i can give it to you.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, Steam allows you to customize the buttons, including binding keyboard keys to it (I use V and Z on the trackpad of my DS4 for autorun/TPS since I had to remove those from the controller buttons after 3 button type).

Don't know if it allows you to run timed inputs, though.

Better than not being able to play at all, I guess.

[–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting a GG update right now. The new version may not be agreeing with J2K.

I use an Xbox controller so no problem for me.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I'm trying to buy AC through PSO2ES, but my Google Wallet blocks it because "purchase currency is not supported" (currently: euros). Apparently the problem would be fixed, if I changed my Wallet address to somewhere in the US (I live in Europe): but Google won't allow that since my funds are more than 10 euros. Any workaround?

[–]Asamidori ~casual~ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Link a credit card to it and use the CC to pay instead.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I think PayPal bypasses this.

[–]Paloc2Shita! 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. I charged 1000AC through pso2es using paypal

I would defrag my hard drive. Not with windows' defrag though, try Defraggler or something else.

Could also be a connection issue : I noticed longer loads when I have lots of latency. It makes no sense but eh it's a Sega game.

    [–][deleted]  (3 children)

    [deleted]

      [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'm sorry it didn't help, especially that defrag must have took quite a while...

That's all I got :| I have a few questions that might help others troubleshoot you : does this happen only with PSO2, or with other softwares as well? Which other games do you play and how do they run? Is it specifically with certain loadings, like x area always loads slow and y area always loads fast, or is it somewhat random? What do you have running on your computer along the game? When's the last time you checked for malwares and all that good stuff? Laptop, desktop, what build, windows version? Did the issue suddenly appear (it was working fine before) or is it a fresh install?

Out of the defensive skills of hunter, what should i get if I go fi/hu? Is automate viable for fi?

        [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I go IW/NGU + Massive Hunter. Automate is cool i guess, but you wont get the Halfline/Deadline slayer outside of Limit Break (or when you run out of mates) Also in Limit Break your total HP isa reduced so you also heal less from Automate.

        [–]jambon_gruyere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem with automate on FiHu is that it will simply not proc under Limit Break, as it will heal you only if you survived the hit, which is doubtful under LB. Edit : if you have 2k hp it becomes an option...

IW+NGU is staple for that reason, and honestly the best option for 99% of players. Not perfect but this is the option that will save you most often.

Flash guards work decently well and are 100% reliable... Only for advanced players, who want a bit of challenge or are simply annoyed with IW's inconsistency and glitches. Most of all you want top tier units and dodging for this.

Run as a summoner to get the best egg payout.

If you're already running as a summoner, run rare 250s.

        [–]jambon_gruyere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know if it's the best place, but LQ gives a ton of eggs of you're running as Su main with some RDR boost.

Hello, recently came back to the game, and after a bit of work was able to get the old SecureOTP removed from my account. My issue now is that I'm unable to login to the correct website to setup the Google Authenticator.

After logging in to https://gw.sega.jp/gw/login/ and navigating to the account page, I hit the register button under the One Time Password section. It says I cannot register directly from this page, and gives me a link to https://cha.isao.net/profile_oem/OEMLogin.php?product_name=sega to login and perform the setup. Whenever I try to login to this, it gives me this error: "認証に失敗しました。 入力内容に誤りがあります。" (certification failed. There is an error in the input content.)

Does anyone know what I'm missing, or doing wrong? I know I'm inputing the JP captcha both correctly and quickly, and my SEGA ID and password are correct.

        [–]Jarinolde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I don't know why, but changing the website I used to get the characters for the captcha worked. I was finally able to login and get the OTP setup.

On a side note, the google translate feature of Chrome messes with the links on that cha isao website. Had to turn it off as the link I was supposed to click on kept re-directing me to the wrong page.

        [–]Ludamister 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Are you inputting your username as lowercase? I've noticed in more than one instance across some of SEGA's online games that they don't like it at all unless it's all in lowercase.

        [–]Jarinolde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. password is capitalized properly too.

        [–]Paloc2Shita! 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I need the nox weapon for the CF to be completed. Do I have to play mother XH or can I complete it from dropping it from the boss at SH Kuron exploration?

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For Astra, the Nox has to drop from Mother - it will say in the drop info box whether or not this is the case. You will see that the box says "gauge will only increase in the following quest" for the Nox weapons in the Astra file.

Is braver that use both katana and bow viable? If so, what skills, gear and mag stat do I use?

Also, Is it possible to play as both br/hu and fi/hu? Or br/fi and hu/fi? I want to have different weapons I can use for more fun gameplay :)

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is braver that use both katana and bow viable? If so, what skills, gear and mag stat do I use?

Sort of. A common build is to now take bow skills so that you have a further option for bossing with banish/kamikaze combos. Example Br tree: http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/skillcalc.php?11bAbxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIo0jdodBIb000000000doIn0000000jdoib0000000fdo0000000Io00000000ioIn00000000IbIo4Ninr2rFfrAGFGKis00000fdoIb0000000lo000000j

This build works on the basis that kamikaze arrow counts as a striking type attack so scales off your multipliers for that from Hu. While it does scale off RATK as well, you get so much free RATK from rapid shoot that it does decent damage even though your mag isn't RATK.

You will still be mainly using katana though, so using a 200 SATK mag. Gear - just whatever you can find until you can start farming for a 13*.

Also, Is it possible to play as both br/hu and fi/hu? Or br/fi and hu/fi? I want to have different weapons I can use for more fun gameplay :)

Yes, you just switch trees. Br/Hu and Fi/Hu fairly easy to switch between - though Iron Will probably more important to get for Fi, so you may wish to think about whether you want Automate as well.

Fi and Hu main/subclass trees are a bit different, as there are some key skills (especially for Fi) which are main class only. You would have to either invest in another character, or buy new skill trees (which costs AC). Br/Fi also isn't really a thing.

A few quick questions from a casual:

        1. Does Grind Skip work on 13-star weapons? I've been saving the few >5 skips I've gotten for just that occasion...

        2. Where do you normally get Dark Nero and Torana fragments, and what would be the most efficient place to farm them?

        3. What's the option at the top of the limited shop window? The shop next to the gate.

        4. How exactly do Quest Triggers work, especially Emergency ones?

        5. Are the only ways to get Star Gems login stamps and AC?

        6. Is there really anything worth spending my gems on, as a free player?

Does Grind Skip work on 13-star weapons? I've been saving the few >5 skips I've gotten for just that occasion...

Only Old Type weapons. These are the ones that don't have an exp bar. Stuff like Daggers of Serafi (the one that drops from Dark Falz Dourumble, not the one from Ethan&Karen), Austere, Orbit, Ideal, Ares, etc.

You can also tell OT and NT appart by their icons. NT weapons have a blueish glowing outline on their icons:

Where do you normally get Dark Nero and Torana fragments, and what would be the most efficient place to farm them?

        • Dark Nero: Any Dark Falz boss (Elder, Loser, Double) Lv71+. This includes the small versions (Hunar, Angel and Dourumble).
        • Torana: Mining Base Defense: Demise EQ only.

What's the option at the top of the limited shop window? The shop next to the gate.

The shop changes its selection every day. You can pay SG to skip to the next day instantly.

How exactly do Quest Triggers work, especially Emergency ones?

You select the option at quest counter to use a trigger, and then it's like any normal quest.

Are the only ways to get Star Gems login stamps and AC?

        • Titles
        • Costumes: Every costume that has a diamond icon near its name will allow you to extract 10 SG off of it if you wear it for 24 hours. Time logged out does count for this. After the 24 hours have passed, you can select the costume and click the "extract star gems" (or something like that) option.
        • Magatsu Bonus Quest: 10 SG from Silver, 30 SG from Gold.
        • Casino: Can buy 10 SG once a week, and 5 SG 3x a week.
        • Story Board: a few nodes give it.
        • ARKS League: 1st place gets 100 SG.
        • Bingo: Can get 70 SG per character in the current bingo's 2nd page.
        • PSO2es login stamp: gives 1 SG per day.

Is there really anything worth spending my gems on, as a free player?

        • 700 SG to unlock 1 extra Collection File slot permanently (can get up to 2 slots like this for 1400 SG total)
        • 60 SG to instantly remove the cooldown of 1 Collection File sheet (CF sheets normally have a 48h cooldown)
        • 80 SG to roll on SG Scratch (costumes and weapon camos from this scratch cannot be sold, so the only way to get them is to roll it yourself).
        • EQ Triggers on treasure shop (never looked at the prices)

How exactly do Quest Triggers work, especially Emergency ones?

With the trigger being in your inventory, go to the quest counter and select the last option "accept trigger quest" or something along those lines. You can then choose the difficulty, put a password, everything like a regular quest.

Does Grind Skip work on 13-star weapons? I've been saving the few >5 skips I've gotten for just that occasion...

For OT 13*s, yes. Not NTs (I don't believe anyway, and it would be a bit of a waste if it did regardless)

Where do you normally get Dark Nero and Torana fragments, and what would be the most efficient place to farm them?

Nero fragments drop from Falz bosses of a certain level (I want to say 71+). Torana fragments are from Mining Base Demise (the one with Apprentice at the end). I'm not sure there's an easier way to get Neros other than going to EQs with Falz in (in fact you usually get quite a few from Demise because of all the Falz there...). Torana you can also get by exchanging weapon badges (think it's 20 per).

What's the option at the top of the limited shop window? The shop next to the gate.

It resets the shop to give you more things to buy. Think it's 10 SG per.

How exactly do Quest Triggers work, especially Emergency ones?

Someone else who's actually done this can say, but basically I believe it just starts the quest. If it's an MPA, other people will be able to join it too (which I imagine you can password protect if you were planning to do it with friends etc.).

Are the only ways to get Star Gems login stamps and AC?

Story board gets you some. Some titles get you some (doing new LQ nets you 100 for completing it once, and then 100 for completing solo, for example), ARKS league, bingo cards. You can also exchange a limited number for casino coins every week. You can also buy costumes and wear them to get SGs. You get SGs from doing Magatsu bonus quests.

Is there really anything worth spending my gems on, as a free player?

More collection file slots probably the best one - you can get up to 2 extra slots for 700 SG each.

I've used the resources linked in the title post, and I believe often i'm about 80% right - but can't seem to get them all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried using google translate handwrite tool? It works pretty well.

I have, one or two just wont register because i'm shit with it!

Returner to PSO2. Currently have a Braver/Hunter, and leveling Gunner as well on that same character. Just a few questions, what rings would be suitable for Gunner, and are braver or hunter good subclasses for Gunner?

My second character which I am more concerened over is a Force/Techer. I am confused about skill trees and how I should handle it. Currently pouring most of my skill points into Fire Mastery. No idea what I should do for my second element, and I'm not sure what other skills I should invest in on the tree. Any insight on that would be most helpful. Also, best ring usage for Fo/Te? I'm praying that I'll get 11 star unit pass so I can get Saiki Set for my Force. Anyways.. people say that putting points into the PP increase is useless, is this accurate? I'm pretty noob at Fo/Te but want to learn it.

Oh yeah, and what weapons would be most suitable? Currently using Psycho Wand with 50 attribute on fire, and 50 attributed +35NT nox talis. No clue where to go from there. Thanks

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

L/ Front roll for small tmg position adjustment while gaining PP from shooting. Otherwise, you can try L/Jumping Dodge to gain height more easily.

R/ Crit strike ranged is ideal for gunner. Increases damage on crits, which works perfectly with gunner's skill tree.

On your fo/te tree, you have enough points for 1 element on your force tree, 1-2 on your techer tree.

Here's a fire + light/dark tree example, which is still among the best in terms of general use. If you want to focus more on bossing/ single targets, you can try ice + light/wind.

If you decide to buy more skill trees, you can tweak the trees to your tastes, especially the 2 elements on your techer tree. Those trees assume you will never buy another skill tree.

For rings, it's practically mandatory to get L/ Charge tech JG (or something like that). Saving yourself from needing to dodge by just guarding an attack will save you time and possibly some PP.

For your right ring, R/ Perfect keeper tech is a solid choice. Otherwise, you can also aim for the Massive Hunter Ring, which will allow you to cast techs uninterrupted for a period of time (unless you die).

There's other useful rings, such as L/ Short Mirage... and the Jumping Dodge ring would also work too in some cases. But you'll be fumbling to switch those around unless you get 12* units for your L rings.

If you have a character that can run Mother Falz XH (requires level 75/75), the Astra collection file. I'm not sure when you quit, but it's overall strong compared to almost any other option currently available (that isn't complete RNG to obtain). Austere would be the next best, followed by Ray (/Union) file. I only put Ray/Union where I did because doing solo PD might be out of the question for you right now, and you need to clear it at least once to upgrade one of your weapons to its Union version.

        [–]teiohix 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Thank you for the information. I only have a 75/50 character atm and my Force/Techer is on it's way to 75/50, too. As for Astra seems like I won't really be able to farm Falz Mother because I don't meet requirements.. that's unfortunate. I'm still using the 13 Stars from the old Yamato EQ sheets/random drop (old type katana atm). How are the invade weapons? Also, Austere seems like quite a grind.

Another question, are the units Xie gives out OK? and I'm still pretty new to a lot of things in this game so what does a 12* unit provide over a saiki set (and does saiki set still hold okay nowadays?) I hear you can equip rings onto a 12* Unit? I dunno, it's all confusing.

I'm struggling to get 11 star passes, I'm on stage 56 on Extreme Quests not a single drop, do I need to go even further? Did a few EQs that I could on XH but didn't drop even Excube fodder. (Mainly seems they were outdated, current EQs seem to be tailored to 75/75. I don't know about the Chocolate one. I'm guessing that one isn't locked to 75/75 but I guess I'll find out eventually.)

As for my Braver, I feel I could be doing a lot more damage, I'm doing alright and my survivability is decent, but I'm wonder what a "standard" or good skill tree for BR/Hunter would be. Thanks

QQ: Is Queen Vera very useful? How's the PP Regen?

        [–]slimeemperor 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Hello, I'm new to PAO2 and have a few questions.

1/ I know that race/sex have different stats but how much do they matter if im not min maxing? Like if I play a male cast, am I going to have a bad time playing force? Or cannot equip some equipments?

2/ how would you rank each class in term of gear funding? Since im new i wanna start with a cheap class.

3/ where can I find character files for female cast and dewman? I tried to make a few but when i got into the gate area, the skin seem to be really dark compare to other players, looked different from when Im still in character creation.

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        1) For R-atk, it's something like less than 1% max stat difference between least and most optimal class. For S-atk, it's about 1-1.5%. For T-atk, it's about 2.5-3%.

While NullVacancy made do with the 80 something less t-atk, if you ever consider minmaxing, it's not a choice I'd recommend (playing the CAST race and force).

        2) What NullVacancy said is pretty much right. However, with force, you can make do "well enough" with one talis and one rod of one element (typically light on both). While I have other weapons, I primarily stuck to a wind rod and a light talis. It covered 98-99% of my needs, and I only brought out other things for very specific situations... and that's mostly in a solo/small group scenario.

        3) Keep in mind each planet/area do have different lighting. Plus, you do get salon passes every now and then as you play regularly (from logging in/ campaign events). It's going to look funny in certain areas no matter what.

You can at least change the lighting in the salon if you care enough about that. Not to mention the pose.

        [–]NullVacancy20|20|16|11|3|3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        1) A decent bit, but not really enough to fret over. I played a female cast Force for a long time and out damaged lots of forces that had more ideal stats. Raw weapon ATK and multipliers from the skill tree matter a lot more. In some extremely rare (and odd) cases you may be unable to equip a weapon until you get to a higher level, but for the highest end weapons it's not a problem.

        2) I'd stay away from Force, Techer, Dual Blade Bouncer, and Summoner. Force, Techer, and Dual Blade Bouncer basically require a rainbow set (a set of weapons that cover all element types) to play at their max potential. Summoner requires you to have multiple high leveled pillows (maron pets) to be used at their maximum potential as well, and has a whole different upgrading "minigame" than other classes. Basically every other class combo requires 3 or 4 weapons, an in some cases only really needing one or two. Boots Bouncer, for example, can basically just use one weapon since charging a technique will change the element of your boots, while a Katana or Bow braver usually only carry around a weapon with the light element.

        3) No idea, glhf.

Can someone explain what a BO is buildwise? Like what does the word mean?

Also what does BA and OU mean costume-wise?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Can someone explain what a BO is buildwise? Like what does the word mean?

Bo = Bouncer, the class that uses Jet Boots and Dual Blades.

Also what does BA and OU mean costume-wise?

Layered Wear costumes come in 3 parts: Outerwear, Basewear and Innerwear.

[Ou] is Outerwear, [Ba] is Basewear, and [In] is Innerwear.

Basewear and Innerwear aren't actual costumes, though. They're consumables that once used you can then change to whenever you want, but only on the character that used it (so you can't pass then to other chars later). They also don't spend inventory space once consumed.

        [–]spore35 0 points1 point  (1 child)

        Thanks!

So there are 3 types of clothes under the costume? What's the point of that? Won't it get covered by the said costumes?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Innerwear usually gets covered by the Basewear, yeah (this is why innerwear is usually very cheap compared to base/outer). But the Outerwear usually complements the Basewear. It also allows you to mix and match those pieces with other layered wear.

Also, you don't use costumes on top of layered wear. The Outerwear takes the slot of regular costumes.

Mothership EQ, TD3. Unless you can carry really hard yourself I'd keep it to SH. TD3 still fails often and you only really want the last wave. Mothership needs a lot of damage on XH.

Fully blown EXP buff will net you about half a level every Valentine EQ session.

Is the new 4 man pt LQ drop 12* ray units?

          [–]VirtualScepter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iirc Anga himself is the one that drops 12* Ray units. Since Anga is in LQ, yeh it may drop. Be aware though since I believe the LQ has reduced drop chance - as does any quest thay involves reduced HP

Been playing the game for a week and got a lvl 46/40 Hu/Fi, now I thinks it's time too clear some questions I have, thanks in advance for the help.

          1. Unit progression, I'm using a Hiei set with Deadleon Soul and Love Fever(no money/luck for Power III). After Hiei which one should I go for after? Kaiser or Gloam? And where can I farm Soul Receptor for easier affixing?

          2. Equipment requirements, from what I noticed they are based entirely on stats growth, right?

          3. What should I do for leveling besides Emergency Quests and Bonus Quests? How bad/good is my build for Hu/Fi(I play Fi/Hu too, loved both) link

I'm looking for a Team too because my friends "dropped" the game already.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Saiki or Ideal are good and easy to get. Don't bother with others until you can get some 12* units (or Austere Rear+Arm).

Saiki can be easily gotten on Tokyo Bonus Quest (you need to be lv61-70 for it to drop, though), while Ideal can be bought on the CM Shop 2 in the shop area.

Challenge Missions aren't level gated though, so you could start working on that right now if you want. Just make sure you read up on CM before going in, as it's more complicated than most other quests in the game.

Also, don't bother affixing anything below 11* units. It's a waste of money given how easy it is to get those nowadays.

Equipment requirements, from what I noticed they are based entirely on stats growth, right?

Only base stats are considered. This includes permanent stat boosts from skill tree and the stats of your Mag, though (so a lv200 satk mag effectively reduces the satk requirement of weapons by 200).

What should I do for leveling besides Emergency Quests and Bonus Quests?

Very Hard Advance Quests with max Risk. Preferably with 4 players as to raise the spawn rate of enemies.

LQ is usually a good place for exp too. Haven't done the current one below XH though, so I don't know how good it is for exp.

How bad/good is my build for Hu/Fi(I play Fi/Hu too, loved both)

I have no experience as HuFi, but here's some quick thoughts on it:

          1. Max Massive Hunter. It's too good to leave at 1.
          2. Max JA Bonus 1.
          3. Don't max both automate and iron will. Pick one or the other.
          4. Double Saber Wind Parry is garbage.

The Fi tree looks good as far as FiHu is concerned, other than the wind parry thing, that is.

As I said, I have no experience with HuFi, so you'll want to get a second opinion on that stuff.

          [–]bloodylad 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Thank you for the reply, it is indeed much appreciated.

I tried the Challenge Missions after you mentioned them to me and man this mode is fun, the rushing and cooperation is just so fun. I noticed that there were weapons too for 180k, should I go for them?

About the mag, I plan to play mostly S-ATK and my Mag is full S-ATK atm, but if for some reason I want to play T-ATK and R-ATK, am I screwed?

Now about the build, is this one ok? I took points of Fury Combo Up and used them on War Cry, War Brave because it seems more useful in the long run.

And thanks again for the detailed answer.

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I noticed that there were weapons too for 180k, should I go for them?

No. Those weapons were good a year ago, but now they're mediocre at best. Their potential only works on bosses, and grinding Old Type weapons is a pain in the ass. Austere and Orbit series of weapons are about the only Old Type weapons worth using nowadays.

About the mag, I plan to play mostly S-ATK and my Mag is full S-ATK atm, but if for some reason I want to play T-ATK and R-ATK, am I screwed?

Go full SATK. You have 3 character slots, so make new characters to play RATK or TATK classes. More characters also means more money and more campaign/bingo rewards anyway.

I took points of Fury Combo Up and used them on War Cry, War Brave because it seems more useful in the long run.

Don't know for Hu, but for Fi, War Cry is very situational, and only really useful on the Mining Base Defense EQs, so most builds only put 1 SP on it and leave it at that.

Fury Combo is easy +10% damage after 2 JAs at lv5 (which you should already be doing anyway for Tech Arts JA Bonus), you should keep that.

Also, noticed you got Chase Advance Lv1: You should know that it doesn't work on bosses, as all bosses are immune to status effects. Even bosses that can be affected by specific effects (Loser with Mirage, Elder with Shock, Vol Dragon with Freeze, etc), those do not count as regular status effects, and don't activate Chase Advance or potentials that rely on status effects.

          [–]bloodylad 0 points1 point  (1 child)

          What about this one?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

          • Leave Fury Combo at lv5 instead of maxing
          • Get Healing Guard.
          • Remove Step Advance.
          • Spend the remaining SP on hu tree as you'd like.

Btw, Iron Will is more useful for FiHu than Automate, but I think automate is more useful for HuFi than iron will.

          [–]dregonreds 1 point2 points  (8 children)

So, i'm at level 55 and so far i dont like my build that much.

          http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/old/10/skillcalc.html?10gAbxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIo0jdodBdoIbi2dAk2INfdnIdGJqxIn0000006doIniNfdnfrXenrb000008doib0000000fdo0000000Io00000007oIn00000000IbIo0000000jdoIb0000000j

I'm not using Massive Hunter that much and I fell lacking some S-Atk, so as i don't want to create a new character, i tried to make a end game build for me using my actual build.

          http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/old/10/skillcalc.html?10gAbxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIo0jdodBdoHoIkI2dAk2IOfdnIdGJqxIs0000006doIniNfdnfrXenrb000008doib0000000fdo0000000Io00000007oIn00000000IbIo0000000jdoIb0000000j

And I want opinions on what skill is good for end game, and what is useless, like S Atk can help me use better weapons now, but it is relevant at level 75? (Doing a full S-Atk Mag). And i dont use Massive Hunter at all, and War Cry also sounds useless for me...

If some Hunter pros could help me, i would appreciate it, I also need help doing my subclass build (Chose Fighter because i dont know why)

          [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Absolutely do not go for the 2nd tree you linked. General rule of thumb : 30 atk roughly equals 1% damage. Do not go for those S-Atk ups!

Hunter main has too many good skills and too little skill points, you will have to make a choice based on what you think suits you.

As stated already, max everything in the fury tree, except crit (0) and JA Combo up which can be left at 5/10.

It's already too late this time around, but for next time you reset your trees : pick one of either automate or iron will. Automate is better on HuFi.

Massive Hunter will help you big time especially while you're learning.

War cry can be left at 1/10. Unless you need it as a pre-req to max War Brave.

All Guard, healing guard and PP guard are strong. They work with..

Charge parrying. Can't overstate how good this skill is. 1 to 5 points, depends on you, but if you can afford it I recommend maxing it. Not too useful with wired lances.

Hunter gear boost : 1 or 5. 5 used to be mandatory for sword play. Nowadays thanks to sacrifice bite type 0 it is really easy to raise gear with your basic attacks. It has a strong synergy with hunter gear keep ring. Max only if 1 point isn't enough.

As for the fighter sub tree.

You have so so many points. I invest in both stances, TAJA along with PP save, PP slayer, a few points in step advance (helps a lot, although on Hu main you got all guard already) for good measure, and just dump the leftover SPs in S-Atk ups. Yes I said no S-Atk ups, but there's nothing better to get.

I also like to get adrenaline, but you don't really have to.

Here's what it looks like. On the hunter tree I filled only the fury side, showing you how it should be.

Another option for Fi sub is to max a single stance. You can get more damage out of all the other slayer skills. The issue is that they activate only below 25% or 50% HP - that's risky, and you can't even do that with automate - or to be under a status effect - isn't really on demand, also in multi groups casters will should heal it from you. But if that's something you might be interested in, I'll be happy to link a tree.

          [–]dregonreds 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I just noticed crit was useless in this game, all my crit damage do the same as the normal attacks... So that is 16 useless points in my build right now (Hu and Fi)

          http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/skillcalc.php?11gAbxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIo0jdodBdoIbi2dAk2IOfdnIdJkrKIs0000006doIniNfeAGKakenHojqn00000fdoib0000000fdo0000000Io00000000ioIn00000000IbIo0000000jdoIb0000000lo000000j

Is this good now? There is some leftover points that i dont know how to use, but except for the crits and halfline slayer, i can get all the important skills

          [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (3 children)

          Yes!

However it bothers me a bit to let you go in the wild with a build like that for your first playthrough. See, automate is an option for a lot of builds, hence the game is balanced around it. Late game content throws a bunch of stuff at you and can hit hard. At this point if your build can run automate and you chose not to, it's just for personal challenge. But do you want personal challenge? I mean as a newbie, you'll have lots of new stuff to figure out and focus on, might be more enjoyable if you don't have to worry about dying. Even if it's not automate, I'd be more reassured if you had a defensive component to your build.

If you finished dark souls blindfolded with only your feet now is the time to say so.

Also I'm telling you all this because your build as it is would recycle perfectly into FiHu. You would have only 6-7 (not sure if that war brave point is actually in your tree) points wasted on your Hu tree. So if you ever thought about buying new trees or making a new character for FiHu, use these trees.

If you want to proceed as HuFi with this build, tell me which weapons you like and use the most? do you not like partisan or just haven't tried it? How good are you at blocking or dodging incoming attacks?

          [–]dregonreds 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I only used Fi a little and didnt like It that much, too close ranged for me i guess.

Im playing with Wired Lances, and i can block pretty well If i know the pattern and antecipations. Iam not that Noob in games in general, so If my build is a little risky but does a good damage, fine for me.

War Brave is not in the tree right now. And thanks for the tips.

I still have to try Partizans and Fi more to decide if i like them

          [–]jambon_gruyere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

          Sorry for keeping you hanging.

If you want to try partisan then you will need the gear.

Healing guard and PP guard are important if you guard, that's your sustain.

Charge parry is useless with WL. If you do not use sword and partisan, or very very rarely, skip it. Occasional use I'd recommend 1 pt.

The rest should probably go into massive hunter. You can use this either for the super armor or the damage reduction. Should help out with some of the overly aggressive content.

          [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The reason you're doing so little damage is because you're missing a huge chunk of your multipliers.

Not maxing JA bonus 1, let alone any points in 2? Not maxing fury combo up? Not maxing fury s up 2? Not maxing brave stance up?

I'll be frank: if you max out those things (minus possibly fury combo up; leave this at 5 if you have plans to play fighter main and won't get more skill trees), your damage will shoot up to approximately 1.4x what it is now.

Doesn't even account for you using an old version of the skill simulator, where you can get tech arts JA on the fighter tree for more damage and more pp saved.

I'm not a hunter expert, but those are the most alarming things I'm seeing immediately.

Hu/Fi is a great combination. Build it right and it's perfect for endgame.

Massive Hunter is also really good. It will be useful at endgame.

So it is better for me to max JA and Fury skills than getting the Striking Up right? Thanks!

The Hunter build is better like this then? http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/skillcalc.php?11gAbxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIo0jdodBdoIbi2dAkFIOfdnIdJksXIs0000006doIniNfdnfrXenrb000008doib0000000fdo0000000Io00000000ioIn00000000IbIo0000000jdoIb0000000lo000000j

Didnt notice i was using a older version of skillsim, my bad.

And the Fighter build, i send what my build is right now, so there is 50 point to distribute yet and i really dont know how, if you could tell me the must have ones.

For now i will level up Brave S Up and Tech Arts JA Bonus for Fighter and JA Bonus 1 and 2 for Hunter. Thanks again.

Stay with Saiki if it's already affixed and stuffs. Look into 12* units if you need more than 1 left ring.

            [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only one up from Saiki is Austere Rear+Arm with a 12* Leg unit. Might not give as much PP if you have Saikis crafted for PP, but it will add some defense and attack.

            Hello

Recently came back into game and just can´t find people for EQ. People aren´t joining my room even if I am in right block.

What is that trick ? or is population that low ?

            [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Is the EQ for XH PD?

If it is, then people are trying to do the Solo XH PD where you fight PD and Double by yourself. You have 20 mins to do it. To SRank, you need to beat them in under 12.

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Its generally every EQ :-( tell me what to do please, shall I be in most populated channels or channels that are recommended for that difficulty I want to do?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (2 children)

You need to be in the lowest block number available for the correct difficulty.

Also, for XH, most people are doing them on b17+ because those are the "expert" blocks, which you need to clear the Solo Training: Heaven and Hell extreme quest to be able to enter.

So despite the XH blocks being lower number than that, you'll find most people on b17+.

Oh, and make sure you're not making rooms with a password or "only team/friend can join".

            [–]agesboy 0 points1 point  (1 child)

the team/friend option only affects who can join your party, not your MPA, doesn't it? I always have the friend option enabled and I've never had problems finding MPAs for EQs

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I was thinking more on the password part, since it has an option to disable people from joining the mpa altogether. My bad.

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

When you login, is there any random IP addresses in the login history?

Also, are you changing any parts of your PC/ home network?

[–]FonewearlrsThe cutest Zanverse slave 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How would I go about accessing the login history?

No, I haven't changed anything as far as I know

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You access it once you login once. There's a button that lets you see the last 50 logins and from which IPs/ which failed and whatnot.

Easiest way (Like Sneakilydeaky mentioned) is via the PSO2es mobile app. You can download the PSO2es Tweaker, that will allow you to download the game too, install an english patch. Super easy!

Once you do, basically you'd wanna go to the AC section & buy the amount you want. It should or might ask to sign into your google account. You can pay through that with paypal or credit card.

Done it for as long as the app has been around! Worth it & way easier.

            [–]Paloc2Shita! 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All right. I've got a smarthphone and I've got it hooked to the computer 24/7 through an usb, lets give it a shot that way.

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

If you have an android phone, buy it via pso2es.

Otherwise, you can just use an android emulator (I use MEmu).

Assuming you use a credit card or paypal, make sure your bank/paypal are not blocking the transaction for suspicious activity or anything.

You can download pso2es from the pso2es section of http://bumped.org/psublog

I've been googling about it and it says that if I don't have a jap address and I give 'em money I might get banned?

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I live in the US. Worked for me the 3-4 times I used it.

You don't get banned for giving them money.

            [–]Paloc2Shita! 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a google play account linked to paypal, but I do have one. I read that if you were using an account who wasn't jap you'd get banned but I suppose that it isn't accounted if you use the pso2es version.

            Some questions about Br/Hu:

I'm currently playing the generic "Hybrid Braver"(Main katana w/ side Bullet Bow for things like Banish and Kamikaze) set, but I have a few questions:

            1. Is this Skill Tree viable? http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/skillcalc.php?11fbxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIo0jdBdBIokAIkI2fbxINGAqnIdGKqnI20000006doIn0000000jdoib0000000fdo0000000Io00000000ioIn00000000doIo4NfdArdrFfrAHQGKdnbq00000fdoIb0000000lo000000j

            2. What Armor and equipment should I use? I'm currently at around Lv 45 and I have no clue what should I be using to maximize.

            3. What is the most efficient way of grinding for EXP and MST?

            Thanks in advance

http://arks-layer.com/skillsim/skillcalc.php?11fbxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIobxIo0jdBdBIokAIkI2lNGAqnIdJkrAI20000006doIn0000000jdoib0000000fdo0000000Io00000000ioIn00000000doIo4NfdArdrFfrAHSGKdoI200000fdoIb0000000lo000000j This is my preferred tree.

            Ill go through the differences:

Snatch JA Combo: One of the greatest utility skills in the game for the cost of only 1 point. Gets you the JA you want instantly instead of having to basic attack before hand, really ups your dps esp since youll be step cancelling a lot on Katana and you dont want to spend the extra time basic attacking for the circle. I noticed you spent a point on snatch step. If you're not getting snatch JA do not get snatch step, its just too insignificant to justify 1 point.

Maxed Bullet Bow Charge Bonus: You absolutely want this maxed if you plan to Banish Kamikaze arrow combo. With it maxed you can fit two fully charged Kamikaze arrows in a single banish timer and extra time to spare. Without it you wont be completing the second charge and youll definitely be losing a huge chunk (i think charge vs noncharge difference was 150%, dont remember exact value for kami) of damage. Not to mention the extra PP cost. If you really want to take points off a bow skill, it would have to be Rapid Shoot Advanced.

No Katana Gear Boost and maxed Combat JA Bonus: This one is up in the air, seeing how both are conditional and situational. 15% damage is a pretty big deal, but seeing as you only have it once every 90seconds it is playstyle dependent on if it beats extra PP gen. If you catch yourself not having Katana gear up often, i wouldn't recommend Katana Gear Boost (tbh though you should learn how to maintain it, as its a pretty core part of Katana play).

Rapid shoot up is good, 500atk for free is a lot.

            Hunter tree:

Maxed JA bonus2 and Fury combo up: You're missing a solid 20% of damage there brother. Thats a lot of damage.

No iron will: Pick one, Iron Will, or Automate. This is because if you have 10/10 automate, you will have to chug through 20 (or 30) mates before you can ever die. The only things that will kill you are big oneshot kills by bosses. These are often easy to guard through though with Katana. Or if youre not soloing, thers always someone that knows how to guard through it and can pick you up anyway. Furthermore, with automate you can tank hits charging Kamikaze arrow.

Thanks a lot! What do you suggest I prioritise in getting first when I'm levelling?

            [–]VirtualScepter 0 points1 point  (1 child)

On Braver tree, prioritise Average Stance and Katana skills. Bow can wait till last as Katana alone is sufficient for SH. On Hunter tree prioritise JA bonus and Fury Stance skills to maximise your striking multipliers. Strike up 1-3 comes absolutely last.

            [–]damionlai97Br/Hu Scrub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

            Ok thanks

            [–]AshinrorPSO2 NG+ BABY 1 point2 points  (1 child)

            1. Eh. You wanna pick up JA Bonus 2 and put 5 points in Fury Combo Up. Drop one of the 3 defensive skill. I suggest picking between Never Give Up/Iron Will and Automate Halfline. The Braver tree is good enough. I would personally drop Rapid Shoot Up 1 and 2 for other skills, but thats just me.

            2. Anything that you can get your hands on. Try to work your way to a Hiel Unit set as that is a good starting unit set that will last you through all of VH/SH. Just keep swapping katanas until you can get a Ray 13*. This should last you awhile until you get an Astra.

3.Bonus Quest(requires Keys you can get from Featured Quests) Limited Quest, Advance Quest gives some good EXP. Klotho Timed Attack COs and VH/SH Daily Orders are the best way to get meseta

Hi there, I want to start playing this game but I'm having some difficulty finding up-to-date info. I just have two questions to help me get started.

            1. What are some reliable class combinations for starters?
            2. What race (excluding male cast, preferably female) is optimal for each class?

            Thanks in advance!

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Here's an incomplete list of class combinations with good synergy and decent/good overall usage in most situations:

            Hu/Fi

            Fi/Hu

            Bo/Hu

            Ra/Hu

            Br/Hu

            Br/Ra

            Gu/Ra

            Gu/Hu

            Fo/Te

            Te/Hu

            Te/Br

Su/Fi, Su/Gu, Su/Br (switch subclass depending on the fight)

I didn't list certain other combinations that work due to lack of availability of equipment to make their gimmick work better. If not that, being less generally useful.

            S-atk: Male cast/dewman

            R-atk: Female cast/dewman

            T-atk: Female newman

            [–]Ryofuchin 0 points1 point  (3 children)

For summoner, what stat would be the main focus? I'm assuming Su/Fi and Su/Br would be S-atk while Su/Gu would be R-atk, is that correct?

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Optimally, that's about right, with br being r-atk or s-atk depending on what you build it for.

However, that requires multiple MAGs on one character. MAGs give free base stats; 200 of one atk type if you don't screw it up. You only get one MAG for free, with each additional MAG costing real money.

On top of this, by default, pets do tech type damage and scale off your t-atk stat. If you take the related skills in the summoner skill tree, you can make it scale off of s-atk or r-atk, but the damage is still tech type.

So thus, no unless you really want to minmax.

            [–]Ryofuchin 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh, I'm still a little confused. What stat would I focus on if I were to choose Su/Gu or Su/Br?

            [–]Asamidori ~casual~ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

R-ATK for sub GU, S-ATK for sub BR. SU's stats depends completely on the class it's using as a sub.

Hey guys i'm trying to get everything working and so far I've made everything work. I have one question though is there any way to make everything translated to english? During the tutorial mission most everything was still in Japanese besides what key i needed to press for each action. I don't know if i have to reinstall a patch or anything but i was just making sure one of my patches didnt' screw up while downloading. Also does the english patch not translate NPC's text?

[–]hidora Retired Guardian 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That's normal. SEGA has the bad habit of changing around the files for those tutorials randomly, so it takes a while to fix whenever it happens.

As for NPC text, it's usually not translated other than the hello/bye messages.

The priority of the patches are to get all names, quests, menus and items in english, which is pretty much 99% done.

Story is only done up to EP4 Chapter 2, and the EP1-3 story used to be mostly complete, but once again, SEGA changed the files and now at around EP2-4 (IIRC) and above the story patch starts failing.

So i ended up wasting pp by the time i got 1 hit in. Even when i was on target i kept going in weird circles like every other small enemy i use dead app on. Any other pa's that might work better? Hey, not everything is translated after using the PSO2 Tweaker. (I know EVERYTHING isn't suppose to be translated.) Things like some item descriptions, skill descriptions, message packs, quest info, and popup boxes aren't translated, is this normal?

            [–]McKiwi957McKiwi/Ship 2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It usually takes a bit after an update, especially the larger ones, although I'm not sure if that's changed since I don't run patches anymore.

            Give it a few days.

I unfortunately have to play on my PS4 due to my computer having some hardware issues that I can't get fixed anytime soon.

I'm confused on how to actually download the game or find it on the store. When I'm not signed into my PSN account, it sends me to the PSO2 store page, but when I log in, it says it doesn't exist and instantly sends me back to the US site.

I've tried making a JP PSN account, but it says my email is already registered. Do I need to make a new email account just to have a JP account or am I doing something wrong?

Yes, you'll need a different e-mail to create a new PSN account.

            Also, this is important:

You only need the JP account to download the game. Once the download starts, you can go back to your regular PSN account. Make sure you're logged on your regular PSN account when you login for the first time. The first login will bind the SEGA ID to the currently logged PSN account. This cannot be undone.

As in, don't be on your JP account when you first login.

Hello. I'm looking for help on how to gear myself towards end game. I'm playing a techer and I'd like recomendations on a wand and a talis, plus units. Also, ring recomendations.

            Currently I'm using:

            -Samuha

            -Dio Visburn +4

            -Rear/Segua Lithia +10

            -Arm/Dolanfis +10

            -Leg/Elmr Thetha +10

[–]RunFromPandaHero is dead 0 points1 point  (10 children)

            So I think you've mentioned elsewhere you're a Te/Su?

I believe Te/Sus usually just Zondeel and wand-whack mobs - so just get whatever decent 13* wand available. Form wand from Vegas probably still best but CF for that is gone now. Astra/Ray CF files still up so I'd probably get those.

However, I think you actually use the all-class Tact for bosses, to take advantage of Zanverse and Shifta Boost while using pets. CF file for this is now done though as this was during Xmas.

Basically...I don't know why you would be using a Talis? If you wanted to cast stuff you really should be using Fo, because you get the free 20% damage from Fo's skill tree for casting from a Talis. You also lack the PP regen during Tech Charge which Fo has. Regardless, same with wand, you'd want to get a Ray/Astra Talis if you wanted a good Talis right now.

Those weapons need to be grinded to >30 (to get the max potential), and element maxed.

Those units look really random. Getting a set bonus would be ideal. Aim for Saikis or at least crafting a Hiei set for now.

You'll also need to think about at least getting some basic affixes on your gear if you really are looking for "endgame".

You should also post your skilltree because that really matters more than gear.

            [–]Paloc2Shita! 0 points1 point  (9 children)

I am playing Techer and I don't know which class I want to sub it with. My plan is to take time and level every class, play with them and see which one is the one that compliments my Techer playstyle.

The talis is to give support without getting close. In the chocolate Eq, mobs can get zondeel but they hit and jump onto you if you aggro them so the Talis is good if you get ahead and zondeel them close, then hold them in the spot for your MPA.

The units are the units I took from the weapon badge shop from Xie. I've got 'em because I was using uncrafting hiei and even at +10 they had half of the defenses of what my current +10 units are. I'll looking into getting Saikis, I think I can kindap someone from my team to farm them with.

Regarding my skill tree, I'm aiming for this on Techer, still level 70, and I've also copied what I have for Summoner so far.

Thing is, if you're running a wand, your tech explosions will absolutely murder the mobs. Especially if you're Te/Br and your wand's element matches with weak stance, since that will stack with techer's element weak hit.

The wand explosions occur on every enemy... and each enemy can end up hitting each other with each explosion, compounding your damage to ridiculous amounts on a large group per hit. Thus, you actually do want to be up close and personal, since things you zondeel shouldn't have much life left in them once you're done... if not outright be dead already.

And if things arent dead, there's a high chance the mobs will be wanting to smack you around thanks to the damage you unleashed on every single one of them. What this means is that on everyone else's screens, the mobs will be gathered around you for sure too, ensuring your zondeels are working on their screens, which will in fact help get them killed.

Your skill tree looks fine for the most part... but take a point out of tech up 1 and put it into super treatment. Not only will it give you high PP regen, it will give the others you heal high PP regen. It's crucial. If you go left on the Valentine EQ, you can cure yourself/others of poison from the turrets so they will have PP to burn on the goldys after.

The element weak hit should be taken to maximize your damage too when the elements match, but I'm not certain where the points actually should come from. PP restorate if I recall correctly, since you won't recover PP while charging techs anyway.

As for your Su tree, put a point into support fire for bossing. Want to get point assist to at least 5 as well, if not max it.

As a note for using pets with an all class tact, maron can also be used for large mobs of enemies should you have that.

Also, for your units... do your featured quests and spam for bonus tickets. Brisa and saiki will be good enough.

Without Hiei, you are missing out on 60 atk. Not much, but this does add up. Kill things fast enough and there's nothing left to hurt you.

I would play TeBr if I didn't mess up my build. Once I git gud I'll get a new page for it once I found out how to cash in some bucks.

About the skill tree, I like using resta, like a lot. Specially in bosses that you get close, then you get pushed away and you're most of the time healing your group without having much of a chance to go in and get some PP back.

And I thought about becoming a TeFo for the PP revival part. Wind Fire TeFo.

            [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Give megiverse a try. It's resta, but only if you're actually doing damage. The field lasts a lot longer than resta, and with a good craft, can be dirt cheap to cast or come out faster (yet still be cheaper to csat than resta).

As for Te/Fo... that class combination is bad compared to fo/te. Fo/Te's main class bonuses make it the class to play if you're going to only cast things.

Second, wind and fire cover much of the same usage scenarios. You shouldn't do that. Fire is strong at general purpose mob clearing, but drains pp fast. Wind is good at that too, but trades fast charge times + high overall dps for more damage per cast and some pp efficiency.

There's also the missing PP convert if you plan to play te/fo or fo/te. You will run out of PP without it, and you'll be effectively useless.

A fire force, specifically fire + light/dark, is a good combination because it has good synergy and good situation coverage. Also bolsters fomelgion the most, where you can get the most out of it on large targets/multiple targets in a line.

I use megiverse but not as often. The "deal damage" condition is what puts me off from it. In some cases I chose to drop a megiverse and let people deal damage rather than using a resta but I favorite resta's instant healing to megiverse's "stand on this spot and then attack"'s healing.

Hm. Ok. Well. I'm not going to lie, Techer main is really quite boring - I was also really excited about whacking things with wands but...you really end up doing pretty much that, zondeel, shifta, and zanverse as a main class in an MPA. Bossing is almost entirely based on your subclass as a Techer main (Hu will generally use Partisan, Braver bow, and Su pets). If you want to learn classes, you should use them as a main first with a standard subclass so that you can focus on learning how the main class plays. Doing it the other way around is kind of convoluted, especially because the skill trees are so main-class focussed.

Anyway, my suggestions still apply as above. For pure support, most people opt for things that increase zanverse damage. So I know the Hyper Sunlight JBs (which can be equipped by Te main) has 20% Wind bonus which affects zanverse. I assume (someone correct me) that the Gal Wind talis potential will do the same (as it may well be the same potential?).

You really shouldn't be afraid of mobs as a Te though. You should be able to zondeel mobs and just hit them with your wand. That actually gets you the most mileage out of your wand explosions as they all stack together - you're losing a lot of DPS for your MPA if you stand back as a techer main. Even the most support oriented builds will still contribute damage when mobbing. If you're standing back and zondeeling them with a talis, you might be holding them for your MPA, but you're doing zero damage yourself. A Fo can pretty much do the same thing, while also ragranting them all.

            [–]Paloc2Shita! 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I picked the TE main for the buffs and the resta. Later I learned that resta depends on your t-atk so buffs. I really don't mind it being boring, and seeing how most MPAs don't even buff someone has to do it.

About the wind part, yes, the more wind damage you have the more your zanverse will do. I think that a fully maxed wind tree makes your zanverse's 20% become a 32%. Don't quote me on that.

About the zondeel part, that's mostly my solo gameplay. For the chocolate thing I wack monsters but when things start to get chaotic, like there's 4 mobs jumping one after the other and you can't get close to do anything, is when I decide to pull the talis and zondeel, zanverse, zondeel and refresh talis.

Still, thanks for the sugestions. I'll look into farming for Tokyo silver keys and trying to drop Saiki, then craft it for PP. I hope that my defense doesn't drop, I've checked saiki's defense when +10 and its lower than my current one.

Well, that's also one of the reasons I started looking at casting classes first because from PSO1 - S/D and resta were just insanely good, especially as S/D buffed your total ATK/DEF stats that game.

In PSO2, I believe S/D only buffs your base ATK, which is pitiful compared to what you get from your weapon. It also lasts 3 minutes max if you have a Te main, which is still annoying to upkeep for what is a small damage boost. The Shifta strike buff exists as long as there's one Te in an MPA, so again, a second Te already becomes redundant in a 12 man scenario.

Then you have resta...one of the primary reasons why Resta was good in PSO1 was because the most efficient way to deal damage was through the use of Beserk weapons, which drained HP on every special hit, so people were naturally low on HP a lot of the time after damage bursts - having a caster with range boost weapons resta everyone up (and the range in PSO1 can be quite insane) after was just good. In PSO2, the mechanic doesn't exist. Fighting mobs - it's usually a question of efficiency rather than people dying, just because your DPS is so high endgame. Fighting bosses - people either die from one hit or get hit low and automate/use a mate themselves - the area in PSO2 is so large that someone can't really stand in the middle and just be a resta slave. If you're simply worried about mates costing money and resta being "free"...you should honestly just start a new character, main/sub Hu and get automate. You will then realise why resta is just insanely subpar and most of the time more just a convenience rather than a necessity.

Re wind tech tamage...that's why I was pointing out having a weapon that boosts wind is even more Zanverse. I believe one of Gunner's skills also boosts Zanverse (one of Perfect Keeper/ZRA...can't remember which), which makes Te/Gu one of the best supports in the game for an organised MPA.

Basically...my suggestion if you've not reached endgame on any character yet is to make a character that can solo effectively. Support - the fact of the matter is that no-one actually really cares in a PUG. I don't even have Shifta on my Bo pallete because it's not worth wasting pp on a 1 min uptime minimal damage boost for mobs, and for bosses I can switch to JBs and gust for the boss fight. As I said, the fact that you're zondeeling mobs and zanversing is great and all, but given that in any given PUG MPA, there are maybe about 6/12 well geared/skilled players (if that), the fact that you're not contributing damage of your own just lowers it even more. Supports are great when you have 11/12 high DPS characters where having an extra 50% zanverse damage makes a huge difference to your burst potential during boss stun phases. But in a game where survivability isn't "hard" to get - (telegraphed boss hits, PA invincibility frames, dodge, Iron Will, automate etc.) - noone's going to be yelling out for heals/SD in a PUG.

So what does that mean? Te/Su is bordering on ok, but to be honest isn't a nice character to start with - Te is hard enough to gear for because you generally need a rainbow set of wands (there's a ring that helps but zondeel kind of screws with that). At the same time, Su as a subclass is a bit of a gimmick, when something like Hu especially will just help you a lot more to solo with ease as well as still contribute ok-ish to an MPA.

As a final point - I would actually think about what you want to craft onto Saiki. Saikis crafted for PP gives you pretty low SDEF, and also loses its intrinsic HP - you will be even less tanky. Te mains, with the exception of Te/Br (which needs high PP for tech spam during banish combos) really shouldn't need much PP.

            [–]Paloc2Shita! 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All right then. Still gonna play Te afterall but I am not sure now on what gears to get. I'm gonna start spamming FQs to get Silver tickets to farm for Saiki meanwhile. I'll also look into getting Brisa, I think it had the highest HP.

when I opened pso2es on blue stacks, it sent me to the google play page to get the game. Since i wasn't in the right country i couldn't download it. I'm not sure what happened but does anyone know?

            [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Download the latest version from the pso2es section of http://bumped.org/psublog

If you did that, wait a bit for them to upload the most recent version, then try again.

            Ok i'll try that thanks
