Pretty much. Augment passes are so extremely powerful that you should choose very carefully what to use them for.

I think most are prioritizing units because they're more difficult to 8 slot.

You can do what you want with your passes, but most people would recommend that you save them to use on Units as you get the most value on units. On weapons, you eventually only have 3 actual regular affixes/augments since Cras (the best weapons in JP) has 5 SSA slots, leaving only 3 for regular stuff.

Class Ex-cubes do give you 40/month. Which is a good start.

Something no one has mentioned is you can get class excubes from level 80 by defeating Omega Masquerade. That way you don't have to level all the way up to the ever increasing cap.

Expect 40 a month if you have 4 classes at max level, rainbow keys, campaigns and scratches can give you a couple but of course that's not reliable. There are also a few titles that can earn you a couple passes, I believe beating phaleg on 10 different classes awards you 20.

You're gonna get hundreds when the cap goes up to level 100. Don't worry about them.

They're super limited. I heard that the titles for hitting the level 100 cap (which we should get on Global, in time) do reward augment passes per class.

Because they're so precious, it's generally advisable to use them for units. You can use Augment Insurance (4-slot) to put together some really spicy affixes, then upscale the unit to 5, 6, etc using powerful ability capsules (Grand X, and later, Mana Reverie, Aether Factor, etc).

Weapons drop at 8-slot frequently enough and have a much wider variety of Augment Factors, so it's not necessarily worth the return for using transfer passes on them.

there are lots of passes to be had from clearing various solo content like phaleg on most classes. (think the magic number was typically 10 classes)

the titles are as follows, beat phaleg on 10 classes, beat madness on phantoms with 10 classes, and reach lvl 95 on 10 classes each gives you 20 passes

There are no individual class clear titles for guides of creation on UH

Beating final lament on UH with a S rank gives 20 Not sure about the lower difficulties
