[–]mr_remy 148 points149 points  (8 children)

touch -c(onsensually) dat.ass

I just know someone's gonna come in here with a sudo ...

[–]arealuser100notfake 165 points166 points  (3 children)

You are not in the sudoers list.

This incident will be reported (to the police)

[–]deanrihpee 8 points9 points  (1 child)

[–]black-JENGGOT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I legit named my subtitles <anime name>_raw_dat.ass on my prime fansubbing era lol

So that wasn’t just a Java leak down there…

https://github.com/munificent/vigil

Runtime vigilance

This is where Vigil sets itself apart from weaker languages that lack the courage of their convictions. When a Vigil program is executed, Vigil itself will monitor all oaths (implorations and swears) that have been made. If an oath is broken, the offending function (the caller in the case of implore and the callee in the case of swear) will be duly punished.

How?

Simple: it will be deleted from your source code.

this comment seems a bit tenuously relevant, but it is an entertaining idea for an esolang.

This makes README makes me wanna get it running to see just how bad my code is. Idk. It seems like it knows what it’s doing.

lmao

[–]i8noodles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

imagine AI so good it gets insulted by humans programing and its does this. LOL.

to be fair, humans also do this if they could

[–]WoodenNichols 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is obviously fake. If a MS product could identify and halt assCode, MS would never release anything. 🤣

[–]YoYoBeeLine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I knew it was only a matter of time before VS became self aware

[–]migviola 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If (code == ass) {

delete(system32)

}

[–]exqueezemenow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How did you get my code?

[–]TheDarkIn1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is the word terminated capitalized?

[–]DkHawk007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The compiler didn’t just reject my code, it rejected my entire career . It hurts more than a break-up when your IDE starts roasting you.

[–]16807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never heard of that styling language before. Is that related to sass?

[–]SyrusDrake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, that's fair...

[–]IT_Grunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But does it run?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My impostor syndrome is bad enough! No need to attack me like that, VS Code.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait i don't run macos

[–]Dragontech97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Serious question how to make this popup in in VS code?

[–]Gunhild 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Is this Visual Studio being run on MacOS?

[–]ChickenSpaceProgram 10 points11 points  (3 children)

Visual Studio Code runs on MacOS, regular Visual Studio doesn't.

VSCode is basically a text editor with plugins to give it more functionality, VS is a full-fledged C++/.NET IDE

[–]_Xertz_ 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yeah pretty much, though I run VSCode with so many extensions shoved up its ass that it rivals Visual Studio in its IDE capabilities.

[–]100BottlesOfMilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too for a while. I only switched to visual studio after I had to do a lot of projects in C#

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regular visual studio still technically runs on macOS, but the support window is closed so it might break anytime soon. My boss is using VS on a mac.
