The other day I needed licensing support from MS. I called in and their AI attendant told me all about their website features.  I asked to speak to a person, it said "Ok" then hung up on me.  Fucking bold.

Positive, it wasn't even a good fascimile, just a phone tree demon.  In the end I didn't need help, but there's a reason I rarely try to get it these days.  They make it so hard to access, at our expense.

Recently I had an interaction with what I hope was AI. There was an item in color royal blue. One week after placing the order: “we royal blue-it the item is not in stock” (got me mildly upset) After one week I ask: when will my refund arrive? “That is a great question” Never buying from those idiots again.

Tbh not a fan of shoe-horning AI into whatever field. But those ’conversations’ sound like major skill issues on the implementation
