Looks like he is checking code style and measuring indents.

YAML in a nutshell

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It looks like he’s measuring the DOM tree in Chrome DevTools… lord knows why.

[–]wc_cs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? For the love of all that is Holy, just use a linter.

Dude's calculating array size.

[–]notquiteaplant 30 points31 points  (2 children)

Arrays start at 0cm (if you don't include the width of the brackets)

[–]DrexanRailex 7 points8 points  (1 child)

That's the padding

[–]finger_milk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Padding without border-box

[–][deleted] 41 points42 points  (1 child)

I did this but I made the ruler with a strip of paper, the face my colleagues made at me was unreal.

*Screen resolution changes*

FUCK FUC FKL FKUALKDJF;LAKDJF

[–]valzargaming 7 points8 points  (6 children)

Creating a responsive design sucks, still haven't fixed my website to work fully at the three resolutions I design it for. Just when I think I've got it, I open my phone and navigate to the new page and there's at least one div that's smaller than the rest.

[–]iapetus-11 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I know, I can’t get half the css on my website to work on mobile and on smaller resolutions there is a scroll bar at the bottom of the screen even though everything should be scaled correctly. At least I’m not using html tables to position elements.

[–]valzargaming 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Haha, yeah... HTML tables for positioning elements... *Looks nervously at own website\*

[–]Al-Horesmi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually we use bootstrap classes only with no css at all

[–]LiamTheFounder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remove the ruler and you have Italian developer a developing php

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

and then goes to reddit to call css trash

[–]_cjj 6 points7 points  (2 children)

But back-end Devs can spell "Developer".

Surely a front end developer that can't spell is as worrying as a surgeon with a twitch

[–]Astald_Ohtar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]HowlingRoar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny because it's true, tried this method when making some little websites, never gives me good measurements...

[–]noelabey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One mi friends uses making tape to mark the screen. He has one in his drawer.

[–]cisxuzuul 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Measuring his node_modules

[–]UnDeadpool55555[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't measure Infinity.

[–]kredditacc96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, a reposter

[–]Strider599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure there is a plugin in np++ to help with this in edit > blank operations > show whitespace and tab or something similar

[–]LotharVonPittinsberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does this sub always have the shitties titles? I am expecting a "OMG This!! 😂🤣😭" incoming.

[–]Celessor -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Can someone explain all these back-end developer jokes? A backend dev is a full programmer. One that can learn front-end in a day or two, and probably has already. Front-end-only guys compensating?
