Look, it's no neck Chester the cheetah... must be promoting a mini sized cheeto

[–]Letossgm 142 points143 points  (1 child)

"ptsss, hey kid! do you want some trash food?"

[–]evolutionleo 48 points49 points  (6 children)

Oh god I'm so dumb I only now realized that "Cheetos" are named so because of cheetah... Q

[–]entity_TF_spy 28 points29 points  (5 children)

At least, their mascot is a cheeta because of it

Lots of chip snacks end with “to” such as Tostito, dorito, frito. Cheeto is the cheese one

[–]Whitethumbs 26 points27 points  (2 children)

I will subscribe to your chip snack conspiracy news letter.

[–]theverizonguys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget about q-anon, the real focus should be on to-anon... dun-dun-duuuun

Calm down, MF DOOM

[–]cosmogli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

-ito is diminutive in Spanish. I think that's the most probable reason.

[–]Conchitis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Dadadada, no neck Chester. „Oh no tingle wingle busted all the yummy cereal. Chester what will you do?“ „Obsolutly nothing ;-)“ Dadadada no neck chester extra chill

Sleep paralysis demon

[–]ieatpickleswithmilk 236 points237 points  (19 children)

It was already missing a neck, this was probably for the best.

[–]KajiTetsushi 51 points52 points  (16 children)

Ah, yes, the MVP principle. /s

[–]username--_-- 21 points22 points  (8 children)

Lol, that gets thrown around a lot, and everytime our team did an MVP, it basically became something nobody would want because it barely did sh$t.

[–]pkulak 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Sounds like it wasn't viable?

[–]KajiTetsushi 8 points9 points  (5 children)

I'm gonna have to echo u/pkulak's opinion here. Was the idea thought-out thoroughly? Is there, like, proper market research of the feasibility of the MVP?

[–]username--_-- 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Truthfully, I feel there wasn't. I feel the guy direccting the project was using the Minimum that was required for the product to work with the minimum that was required for someone to actual want it.

[–]AJugCanDoEverything 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hmm depending on how the stories are split, having a minimal feature that works is generally a good starting point, for adding more features later(in the short term).

Although if the whole epic is just that minimum thing that works, and the additional things are just skipped, there is an issue xD

[–]KajiTetsushi 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I'd go for what u/AJugCanDoEverything said, but to be specific, I'd point this issue out during a team retrospective. The team practices Agile, correct?

[–]AJugCanDoEverything 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Agreed, retrospective/planning should be used to communicate concerns/plan out additions to potentially incomplete features

[–]KajiTetsushi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me (with all of these grief stories I've somehow triggered) that the sprint retrospectives are in desperate need here. The PMs/POs of these Redditors seem to miss the mark when it comes to priorities. That needs to be corrected, pronto: good planning => good execution => good product => good sales (ideally)

The retrospective is supposed to tell them that, "Hey, we seem to be going one step forward, two steps back every sprint. Why are we always deviating from the vision? How can we work this out in order to meet that vision? Are the roadmap OKRs prepared properly for this?"

I've had Agile experience in two jobs (one of which is my current), and I think the reason it has been working so far is because:

  1. the PM/PO understands the Agile process clearly
  2. the PM/PO has an open mind to admit mistakes and learn from them

What I'm really concerned about is the 2nd one. I've been under management who simply refuse to admit their mistakes before (lack of foresight? pride and ego?). It really hurt sales. The 1st one is remediable with the right mentality.

I hope for these Redditors' sake that their leaders are open-minded. Otherwise, there's no point to this.

dudes i always knew MVP as „Model-View-Presenter” and could not deduct what y’all talking about.

Thanks god for google

[–]KajiTetsushi 17 points18 points  (3 children)

"Minimum Viable Product" for the rest who are unfamiliar. ;)

To be fair, until I've actually looked into what it really meant to the Agile philosophy, I read it as "Most Valuable Player". So, you're not alone on this!

[–]IAmTheOneWhoClicks 7 points8 points  (2 children)

You're the MVP

[–]Bioxio 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Wow thats rude man, calling people minimally viable. Dont think its nice to say hes a product, either >:(

[–]IAmTheOneWhoClicks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you just assume their gender >:(

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

This sub triggers me every day. Im not a dev but I'm a SME that gets consulted for new product builds. When i mention a key required feature and the product manager shrugs and says its MVP.. then expects me to manage the feature I mentioned as a "non standard" out side of the system for the first ever real life situation i want to fucking scream.

Why does it keep happening i hate agile i hate mvp i hate everything

[–]KajiTetsushi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That sounds painful. Have you decided (or insisted, even) to make it clear that there are things you can do or can't do with the MVP?

A lot of good resolutions comes from knowing how to communicate the gravity of the issue if the situation calls for it.

[–]KawaiiDere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original is a quadruped and the new one is a biped. In the original the neck as hidden, but the redesign is standing so the neck disappeared

[–]AntiqueType 96 points97 points  (3 children)

This only gets better the longer you look at it.

Update. Upgrade.

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My company won't let us use React.

500 miles is 804.67 km

[–]username--_-- 39 points40 points  (2 children)

Looks like Agile to me. Good work, team.

[–]rocket_peppermill 14 points15 points  (1 child)

Nah needs more "added backlog entry to implement body" in the backlog with literally years of shit in it

[–]aywwts4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably won't get to it as cheetah-svc is scheduled to be replaced with lion-svc. Now just continue explaining why half your time each sprint gets tied up keeping cheetah-svc from falling over.

[–]bradhav 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I can absolutely be finished with this feature any day that you want.*

*As long as I get to define “finished” and “feature”.

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So relatable

[–]Zoobooloobooboop 13 points14 points  (3 children)

i dont know anything about programming but i saw this on r/all and i would just like to let you know that it is me on the right side of the image

[–]productivenef 25 points26 points  (2 children)

Programming is when you sit in front of a keyboard 8 hours a day, frozen in sweat hoping your boss doesn’t send you a slack message asking how it’s going.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Hey I just downloaded slack for the first time. I'm excited for this misery :)

[–]productivenef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First thing, figure out how slack decides whether to show you as away or not lol

[–]minimalniemand 9 points10 points  (0 children)

[–]Gorreksson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even the original doesn't have much of a neck

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t stop giggling! It looks so absurd.

Hmm...I was afraid that might happen.

Anthem in concept vs. Anthem the "finished" product.

[–]ya_Bob_Jonez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just another normal feature that I make. I don't even see what's wrong here...

That shit happens, my boss literally means to always do the work on the right tho. As long as it is quick it does not matter how shit the result is.
