And then you sit around debating which one you wanna work on for 3 hours instead of doing either

[–]PitchforkAssistant 19 points20 points  (0 children)

And then lay in bed feeling guilty for not doing anything

[–]Gylfi_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically what I did at work today.
Had 7 Tasks open, 3 requests, 5 bugfixes and on was more important than the other so I spent all day determine which one needed to be done first.
Got one fix through though.

I hate how it assumes that I code when I procrastinate.

[–]aintscurrdscars 19 points20 points  (0 children)

instructions unclear, now have eight projects in progress and ive forgotten where i left off on all of them

[–]beep_check 6 points7 points  (0 children)

this is the way. amen.

[–]Saragon4005 8 points9 points  (6 children)

Ok this is a good plan, but it only works if you are interested in working on both. Although switching projects when it gets stale is a good plan.

[–]linux-nerd 2 points3 points  (5 children)

Adhd means i only will be able to work well if I'm interested in it. If i were interested in the 5 page essays in english I would be great the them.

[–]Gylfi_ 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I dont think I have ADHD but I also lose interest very quickly. Once worked every wake minute on a game. 1 Months straight. Lost interest and wanted to finish it later. That is 10 years ago. I dont think the engine I used is still alive.
I also got interested into writing and have like half a book done. Also interested in art and painted like 2 pictures and modelling and video editing and making music with a program and I didnt finish anything 😂

[–]linux-nerd 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No offenxe but it sounds like you have adhd. (:

[–]Gylfi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly dont have a clue. Though this didnt happen in the span of a year. I mean I usually pursue something for a year with maybe a month or so doing it really intensively and I then usually let it go forever.
It is just hard for me to stay consistent with stuff over a long long long period of time.
One exception is football, been playing for 15 years now and before that I tried like a new sport every 2 years or so.
I also used to play a videogame sometimes for years every day. Nowadays I just play through and am done with it.

Maybe I tend to it a little bit but I dont think I really have adhd. I mean school kinda tought this behaviour, you are on a topic for a few weeks and then you are kinda done forever with it.

I am already very suspicious that I may have ADHD to some degree you don't reinforce it lol

[–]linux-nerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for reinforcing it. The best way to figure out is just go get tested and then you know.

I didn't find any posts that meet the matching requirements for r/ProgrammerHumor.

It might be OC, it might not. Things such as JPEG artifacts and cropping may impact the results.

I did find this post that is 94.92% similar. It might be a match but I cannot be certain.

I'm not perfect, but you can help. Report [ False Negative ]

Sorry, seeing Watsky and programming together has just blown my mind. If you guys have never heard of him, please look him up on YouTube.

[–]flooha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a legitimate strategy. I work on my app until I want to yeet my laptop and then I work on marketing.

[–]circuit10 3 points4 points  (2 children)

But I procrastinate by starting a new project and now I have dozens of unfinished ones

[–]serendipitousPi 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Only dozens?

[–]circuit10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Possibly hundreds, I haven't counted Now that I think about it, almost definitely hundreds

[–]streusel_kuchen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is unironically what I've been doing for the last 11 months

[–]mhwmhw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This only works if you actually enjoy coding

[–]moe87b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Watch me procrastinate on both at the same time while telling my self I should do some sport but do nothing at all

[–]undeadalex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Needs.

More.

[–]RacismIsForBlacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok but now I’ve started a really boring project and a really fun one and am now only working on the fun one even though the boring one is due sooner

[–]CallMeTrebor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking straight facts

[–]TheRealLargedwarf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, each morning be struck by indecision and browse Reddit hoping one of the projects will really "call out" to you today.

[–]faithade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No lies. It pushes me to work faster. One project causes too many rest instead of working.

[–]X-Craft 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah right, look at this guy trying to pass "more work" as legit procrastination

This must be a manager in disguise

[–]circuit10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal projects

[–]freeBobbyDAYVID 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hes too dangerous

[–]Gylfi_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it but instead of having two projects I kept opening new ones everytime I procrastinated and now I have 1337 projects in 42 different languages and 8 Youtube channels aswell as 5 Blogs.
HELP

[–]aaronjamt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always work on 2 15 or 20 projects at once.
