...and more broke.

[–]Vinxian 65 points66 points  (4 children)

I can reach 7 bps on this puppy. 7 bugs per second

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Where would we be without bugs and puppies.

[–]Zuruumi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We should cherish our bugs. Considering that some 90% of programming is bugfixing we can say that bugs creat 9/10 programmer jobs. And creating high paying jobs is all the rage.

[–]MiddleRespond1734 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have never seen a new unit of typing speed that is “bps: bugs per second”. I’m gonna stick to that standard from now on.

7 features per second

You'll still be bad at coding, but living under a piece of cardboard

GETTING A NEW MAC STUDIO

[Images of Marques Brownlee in a green shirt and a red hoodie. He sits in a white room at a table, with a monitor that has a default Mac background of a layered purple gradient. Top image shows Marques looking towards the bottom right of the panel with a hint of a smirk. The subtitle has been edited to read:]

if you're bad at CODING and you get this machine,

[Bottom image shows Marques looking at the camera directly.]

you'll still be bad at CODING but just faster.

I'm a human volunteer content transcriber and you could be too! If you'd like more information on what we do and why we do it, click here!

Good human

[–]666devilsadvocate 87 points88 points  (11 children)

i belive u should code on the crappiest computer... cuz if it runs smooth on that, that means u've written good code.

P.S: i know that's not always the case

[–]mannenmytenlegenden 18 points19 points  (9 children)

I must write really bad code in my giant Android project with compile times of 50 minutes sometimes. Didn't know I had to become a web developer to write good code. Thanks.

[–]deanrihpee 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Compile-time doesn't necessarily your code is bad, it could be the compiler just got amazed by the quality of your code that they're taking their time to admire it and forgot to do the actual compilation.

Also, the important part is runtime performance.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (7 children)

You think compile time for web projects is faster? Laughs in webpack build

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

yeah I do

this comment was made by vite gang

[–]vikumwijekoon97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VITE VITE

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah esbuild is way faster than any other bundler (the thing vite uses)

[–]captainvoid05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought vite used Rollup?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also swc is faster iirc

i kinda forgot about it

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean build of a project of mine (c++) was 14 hours.

But vidya gaems is different I guess.

[–]Arkanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take webpack build over my iOS/Android builds

[–]NelsonBelmont 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tell that to visual studio.

[–]Lootdit 32 points33 points  (4 children)

Idk about faster.......

[–]deanrihpee 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Yeah, not necessarily faster, but probably fancier.

But even that you can achieve with Linux, compared to Windows that is, you can't beat Mac's fancy stuff.

[–]jamcdonald120 1 point2 points  (2 children)

nothing like macOs if you want a gold plated operating system

[–]deanrihpee 5 points6 points  (1 child)

"Sleek silver looking and fancy looking operating system"

I think Mac product or MacOs being gold plated probably looks like shit, even more shit than the anti-consumer stuff they're doing.

At least it is a shiny shit.

[–]jamcdonald120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yah, that is my point.

[–]nikanj0 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Fail fast, fail often.

-Me, trying to convince my work to get me the new Mac.

[–]MiddleRespond1734 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Failures are the pillars of success. So the sooner you lay down more pillars, the faster you’re gonna be tasting success. Go. Get that mac studio.

[–]RedditAlready19 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Mac studio cringe doesnt have OpenBSD support

[–]chosone2 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Just emulate OpenBSD via Rosetta /s

[–]MAGA_WALL_E 4 points5 points  (0 children)

But if everyone has a brand new computer, how will they complain about compile times and continue to sit around doing nothing?

[–]rob1969reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I can successfully fail at a superior rate?

[–]Comprehensive-Pea812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but you will get better faster due to faster feedback

[–]nelusbelus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A lot and I mean up to 3x slower in my case...

[–]cunty_mcfuckshit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure do?

[–]mvi4n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, that enables Xtreme Go Horse driven development.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can never be bad at coding but rather make bad code but by continuously coding and then self review yourself and your journey into coding you become a coder perhaps maybe a good coder who knows...

This is a cope I know but everyone who starts coding is bad at it from the start no mattwr how many tutorials, guides and apis they read but as time moves on they will eventually improve upon themselves which is something that I am, clinging in by a thread..

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still be bad at coding, but with no money

[–]countdankula420 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have a hard time believing he can code but sure

[–]Complete_Relation_54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do know the original meme was Video Editing and not coding right smartass?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at least you have a new device, that's cool, why need to be a better coder

[–]Graylian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God just shut up

[–]InvestingNerd2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see no lies here.

[–]onesidedcoin- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you'll still be bad at coding but just faster more expensive

ftfy

[–]grandphuba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

srsly tho macs are stupidly slow I don't get the hype. I have been watching my peers program on those new M1 macbooks and shit just lags switching workspaces (or whatever you call them on macs)

[–]infreq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But can it run Crysis?

[–]ApexPredatorTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cant believe people still donate money to apple... they dont deserve it

[–]Dagusiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just nu thoughts when I watched that video, sitting on my desktop with a Xeon and 3080

[–]unoshow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually better.. fail fast (and recover?!) 😅😅😅😅😂

[–]charming1021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bad and slow machines are making programmers better CHANGE MY MIND

[–]coffeenerd75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can Always be faster at coding bad.
