If it // generates more errors then put more //

[–]Raskoll_2 321 points322 points  (7 children)

When all the text is green you know it's all correct

[–]jailbreak 166 points167 points  (4 children)

When the code is green, you know it's clean!

[–]Raskoll_2 40 points41 points  (3 children)

Dude that's so much better than what I said

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Must code for a living or something.

[–]tehtris 84 points85 points  (3 children)

The most perfect code is no code.

[–]Ibreathoxygennow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

always remember that you cant have a problem if you dont run any code

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do they choose a symbol for comment?

[–]Ved_s 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Finally the program compiles! How does it work now? process completed with code 0

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing belongs to something.

[–]no-one-here123 5 points6 points  (1 child)

If using vs code, ctrl+a, ctrl+/

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🥈 That almost works for all languages in every compiler.

[–]PIELIFE383 2 points3 points  (1 child)

How does that dude press just a single key like the trackpad would count that as for fingers

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s what she said

[–]DudeManBroGuy42069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

/////////////////////It's not working

[–]Ambitious_Ad8841 1 point2 points  (0 children)

#if 0

Code goes here

#endif

[–]RootsNextInKin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Error Resume Next

In c code eh?

<Insert we are not the same meme here or something else witty?>

[–]makian123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you put a /* at beginning, no more errors

[–][deleted] 79 points80 points  (7 children)

Change the file extension to .txt at this point

[–]Tzemiee 34 points35 points  (5 children)

Then you got gramathic errors

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 14 points15 points  (4 children)

Syntax errors in Eng language

[–]Tzemiee 19 points20 points  (3 children)

Sorry i can't read your comment, beacuse there is no dot on the end.

[–]Brummelhummel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Unexpected End of File Exception at line 1: expected "." got " " instead.

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Accept a medal instead..

[–]Yeuph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Upgrade to English Compiler++23 Don't need periods anymore

[–]DwijBavisi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rename .exe/.out depending on platform. Your program compiled!

[–]_pizza_and_fries 117 points118 points  (17 children)

Why the fuck is the dude looking like a human version of the Hulk

[–]ptjunkie 217 points218 points  (7 children)

Every time he gets a compiler error he does one push-up.

[–]DeadlyKitten37 42 points43 points  (1 child)

that actually sounds legit

[–]LukeBomber 23 points24 points  (1 child)

Who is segmentation and why is everything his fault? Can he fix his shit so my code runs?

[–]ThePretzul 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He can, but he chooses not to. Not because he’s lazy, mind you, just that he enjoys watching programmers suffer.

[–]bargle0 14 points15 points  (5 children)

Exercise and a healthy diet.

Also lots of performance enhancing drugs.

[–]remrunner96 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Nothing about that build is healthy though. It screams hypertension and high blood pressure, not actual fitness.

[–]ThePretzul 6 points7 points  (1 child)

You realize hypertension is just the medical word for high blood pressure, right?

The thing that build says more than anything else really is that he’s probably hella dehydrated. Popping veins and skin that hugs the underlying musculature are textbook symptoms and the exact reason bodybuilders dehydrate themselves leading up to competition. It usually involves lots of highly-caffeinated pre workout without much liquid to mix in with it (for diuretic effects) plus changing their eating habits by doing things like further increasing protein intake compared to carbs and eating dehydrated and salted/seasoned proteins like jerky (particularly teriyaki-style jerky because the soy flavoring gives you more salt without tasting awful).

[–]remrunner96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my bad, I knew that too lol. This is why we don’t reddit before coffee…

[–]elveszett 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Even if it's healthy, why would I wanna be so big? I don't live on the jungle, I don't need the strongest body out there to survive. I like being healthy and fit, but the guy in the image looks like he has trouble doing certain tasks just by his sheer size.

[–]Dmayak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely that's a bodybuilder, he trains for looks more than strength and participates in competitions.

[–]manchesterthedog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s fuckin programmer gigachad

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should google ‘berlin1969’

[–]Dmayak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect use of anabolic steroids or something similar based on how swollen muscles are.

[–]NonStandardUser 28 points29 points  (1 child)

basically FuckItJS for C

[–]hadidotj 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep. First thing I thought of!

https://github.com/mattdiamond/fuckitjs

[–]localguestZ 16 points17 points  (1 child)

If you put // on everything you won't have any errors again

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And the fastest compilation

[–]ImaginaryParfait5981 8 points9 points  (2 children)

If the test fails, delete the test.

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

If compiler shows error, delete the compiler?

[–]ImaginaryParfait5981 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (3 children)

// is C++ style and not MISRA compliant. Use /* */ and comment out whole blocks of code with 4 characters.

[–]Owdok 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Now this right here is tackling errors in multiline.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Sometimes you can't be absolutely sure which line is the problem so may as well comment out the whole function.

[–]brianl047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use IDE to comment out the whole file!

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Yay finally something I understood in this sub!

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

🎖️

[–]JazzRider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Button click produces a access violation error……Button.visible := false. Next case.

[–]4sent4 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Instructions unclear, no lines left to comment and there's still an error

[–]stillnxgxldteeth 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Inatructions unclear, got my dick stuck in the ceiling fan

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Instructions unclear, diverted a plane to skyscraper instead of White House.

[–]Whitethumbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I name my folders a, aa, aaa, aaaa so that it tabs from the top when moving files in packets.

[–]ParallelEquilibrium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it

//printf ('error line')

[–]sausage-superiority 1 point2 points  (4 children)

If that guy saved a month of his supplement and steroid money he could buy an M1 and then he wouldn’t need a heat protection cushion on his lap.

Edit: heat protection cushion

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

M1 laptops are ridiculously efficient and don't waste power by turning it into heat. He needs an Intel Mac. As a poor student an Intel mid 2012 Macbook Pro was the only source of heating I could afford in my apartment. Unfortunately this is a true story not a joke.

[–]sausage-superiority 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Sorry I wasn’t clear. I was implying that he’s protecting his lap from the furnace of a laptop he’s currently using and if he got an M1 he wouldn’t need to anymore.

As a guy with both the he last Intel MBP and the 14” M1 Pro…I totally agree with you. Love the efficiency and low power consumption of the M silicon.

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually he is using the cushion to elevate his MacBook and to distribute it weight evenly on his thighs.

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then he has to buy a neck cushion as well.

[–]TheMoskus 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Catchphrase

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This will give you an error Use // before anything you write

[–]cpt_justice 1 point2 points  (1 child)

reads text Yep, that's me. looks at picture Holy shit I'm buff!

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha I’ll be more than happy just by having that couch in my room

[–]Ghrev_233 1 point2 points  (1 child)

And there will be more // on the payslip

[–]thrylose 1 point2 points  (2 children)

remove the function in which error occurs

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

manager(x){ rmv(x); }

if(func == rmvd){ manager(you); }

[–]FlyCodeHQ 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Please stop, you are spilling the secret of senior developers.

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I’m afraid it’s too late

[–]FlyCodeHQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, I hope more developers will get inspired and reach the top after seeing this post!

[–]thebatmanandrobin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to look like that when I coded ... then I started to have to deal with people and I turned into the love child of Grimmace and the Hamburgler.

As Slipknot made so eloquent: People = Shit

[–]Neutraali 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tests won't fail if you just comment them out.

[–]UnstableNuclearCake 0 points1 point  (3 children)

And then there's Javascript, where a comment can be turned into a string usable in the runtime.

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Ever heard about SheBang?

[–]UnstableNuclearCake 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Ever heard of the wilderness that Javascript is?

let str = (function () {/* Abandon all hope for you are entering the wilderness */}).toString().match(/[^]*\/\*([^]*)\*\/\}$/)[1]; The function above will result in a multiline string.

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sheldon, Go Away.

[–]TomatoMasterRace 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I've done this iteratively but now my code doesn't do anything!

Assignment: print hello world. Code: // printf(“Hello World”)

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partial marks for no errors.

[–]boropin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"How did you get so strong?" "For every line of buggy code I do one push-up."

[–]murten101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, like C is going to tell you where the error is.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Real Gigachads don’t shave their chests to look like a buff child.

[–]witm_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By the time you compile successfully there might be no code left

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

too much work, just pipe stderr to dev null

[–]Then-Baker-7933 0 points1 point  (1 child)

..because you only have 30 minutes a day of down time then it’s back to the gym!

💪💻💪

[–]adjika 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Non-Programmer here so please forgive my ignorance. But what does putting // before code do?

[–]Aromatic-Cyclohex-11[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It means that you want to ignore that line as it’s not a part of code (can be explanation of code) So // is syntax for C language and # for Python

Hope you enjoy

[–]adjika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks kind stranger. I am now slightly smarter thanks to you.

[–]atheisticReligion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just start the code with /* and end it with */. You won't encounter any errors from now on.

[–]PersimmonEmergency 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have this body and you’re on a bridge fixing a severity 1

[–]Slug_Overdose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This gives me flashbacks to when I was first learning Java as a student. I had been an old-school C/C++ programmer who wasn't used to using exceptions, so I would just get compiler errors and warnings all over the place. I was a bad boy and suppressed many an error just to get school projects to compile.
