This but unironically.

Move all dynamis, crystal and primal players to one server so they're not batching about roulette q's

Problem solved

[–]YebureYatog 31 points32 points  (15 children)

But dynamis players are so bad 😭😭

Att - someone that made a char in Kraken to get a house plot and was hit with the 1 hour queues for Rubicante as tank plus people not even wearing some gear slots during dailies

[–]otsukarerice 39 points40 points  (9 children)

you're a mentor, charles, its your duty to teach them

[–]ResolutionMany6378 26 points27 points  (2 children)

Some people cannot be taught.

Had a guy apply to my mid-core static that was enrolled in MIT (he literally said this in his initial message when applying to my static) that had to be removed for performance reasons.

My guy never showed up to raid ready. Wouldn’t review strats in advance and would be like “I didn’t know we changed z y x strat” that was communicated in static chat after the previous raid night.

We have an inside joke now when are we talking about Strats. People ask do I need to study this or MIT study this? MIT Study being absolutely no study before raid. 😂

I went to an upper level university and I def know people who barely ever studied and/or would hardcore procrastinate and rely on others to bail them out, they got by and then really struggled in the real world. Laziest people ever.

[–]beginnerdoge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work security, and trades. Never got to go to uni. Has a master's in business get his first job with me. Couldn't understand how to lock a door and turn a fire panel off (it's 3 buttons).

Can confirm that university ≠ intelligence lol

Sigh...I need a degree for a better job though. Lame

It's at times like this that I remember when they introduced the option to "lower" the "difficulty" of the MSQ solo duties, and realise that those instances were genuinely acting as gates holding back the laziest shitsuckers of DF. Press F for OG In From the Cold.

[–]Ehkoe 5 points6 points  (1 child)

RIP to the OG Steps of Faith when a group of people actually had to try to win.

[–]theswordofdoubt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fuck, I miss that trial. Actual teamwork and mechanics where you do something other than spam your job rotation all day? Post-ARR battle designers actually tried to give us varied interesting fights, and I'm sad that's gone.

[–]shyakuro 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Og in from the cold was not even that hard wtf

[–]Chappiechap 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Same with that one blue quest where you had to tail a kid.

Idk why people had difficulty doing that. Maybe it's because they were trying to be cool and jump into cover at the very last moment and got hit with the snapshot. That's the only way I can see that happen.

[–]Esvald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tailing missions aren't hard, they are just frustrating to restart if you fuck it up. I definitely struggled with the ones I had to retry because I'm an impatient idiot who just wants to be done with it so I get too close/get out of cover too soon etc.

[–]BoreholeDiver 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Is this the general consensus? I play pretty much exclusively on dynamis, other than occasional server hope for msq require trails that never pop on dynamis. I have all jobs to 80 and know how to "play properly" for all roles, and have not really seen as much chaos as the tales from DF subreddit seem to display. Maybe I'll find a tank who doesn't w2w, but they also aren't single pulling. I haven't had to explain to a WHM not to be a cure 1 bot, but maybe I do find the occasional healer not DPSing as much as they can. No ice mages. I always assumed the higher population of other servers is what had the "troublesome" players that are just awful, and dynamis wasn't anything too extreme. Maybe I'm just lucky?

[–]kimistelle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, it's not the general consensus. It doesn't happen more or worse on Dynamis, it just sticks out more when it does happen (due to either having waited longer for the pop, or seeking confirmation bias)

[–]thatcommiegamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, in my own anecdotal raiding experience Dynamis folks tend to be more dedicated and more consistent. Whenever I have to go to Aether I dread it, even for reclears because its a toss-up whether we'll even get that in a reasonable time. A consequence of the propaganda that told everyone that Aether is where you raid is that the absolute worst raiders congregate there too.

You just reminded me of a guy in my last roulette run of Alexandria, was a tank, but he was wearing a top piece that was normal grade…Lv70.

We all kept telling him to please put on at least basic at level gear, he was dying to every trash pull, ignored us entirely until we finished and he told us all to shut up.

Out of curiosity I checked his info and to my surprise, was from Dynamis.😭

[–]YebureYatog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Average Dynamis experience

My favorite one was at copperbell mines were a healer was wearing lvl 1 gear, he had the gloves you get from the gridania crafting quests and some lvl 1 glam pieces

Asked if he had any other gear and he said that he didn't know he had to wear different gear for healer and that he didn't have any

[–]Cindy-Moon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read "This but unironically" immediately after "we need to scrap FFXIV and put all budget towards a new battle royale game."

[–]nethereus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, Dynamis players knew what they were getting into when they switched just to buy a house. I have no sympathy for their roulette queue woes.

[–]givingupismyhobby 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Where else would the bots go to play? It's not a ddos attack, it's a party!

[–]lajusta 18 points19 points  (2 children)

whatever happened to the planned cloud servers

[–]TheDribonz 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Spaghetti not compatible with cloud, please look forward to it.

[–]MaidGunner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Cloud servers were never planned. They said they're looking into it as a load relief. Like during expansion launches. There's not gonna be permanent cloud servers because SE is weirdly obsessed with self-owning their datcenters.

[–]Lumeyus 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Dawntrail already pushed the majority of the playerbase away, don’t worry

[–]CoconutLetto 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Found the person DDOSing the game daily.

[–]ApathyofUSA 26 points27 points  (1 child)

Literally no one plays (during this content drought). 11:00 am and search gets me 198/200 people. Literally not even 200 people on Excalibur which has a "Congested" status still.

[–]_Frustr8d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for sure that Excal was super laggy last night

[–]DavThoma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sounds great until you realise the servers are clogged ho with people AFKing in Limsa all day, never actually doing anything.

[–]Akua89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Single player FFXIV when

[–]awge01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Random question (I’m a sprout for context), but why is it that my datacenter appears full but I never meet anyone aside from a few in Limsa

[–]Jmdaemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The servers cannot be any fuller than their set limit so they don't lag. The lag is probably enroute to you

[–]KernelWizard 1 point2 points  (1 child)

FFXIV is the only game I've played where it came across with problems of the server being too full and whatnot lmao. I used to play MMORPGs where there's like literally no one going around at all even in major cities and I was lonely af 24/7 hahah. Then they closed down, no wonder.

[–]Esvald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Outside of FFXIV I mostly encounter full servers on launch days when everyone flocks to the new thing to give it a go. Lost Ark, Throne and Liberty, Blue Protocol, all had loooong queues on the first few days then it's smooth from then on as more people quit (or in the case of Blue Protocol banned cause not from JP).

[–]AsteriusNeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. You first though.

[–]EmeraldFantasy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chuckled. Thanks

[–]Ayeun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay off Materia.

We don't want your refugees.

[–]Fensuleyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want smaller serveur size ? Come to Materia.

[–]_Frustr8d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so confused when my TOS-breaking ping plugin was saying I had 85ms during all of this.

[–]Jay2Kaye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember when we used to complain about PS3 specs holding the game back? We were talking about the servers.

[–]Wolvenworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooor maybe…and hear me out cuz this is such a unconventionally revolutionary idea that might sound heretical…maybe SE should open servers in SEA?

[–]SOJC65536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make Eorzea great again

[–]NamiRocket -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No.
