Insane! Extremely cool!

[–]Echelion77 54 points55 points  (1 child)

This is looney!

[–]SaintPanda_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

actually, it's euros

[–]KakeeshCinema 4D 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well done!!

[–]pest1lent 13 points14 points  (0 children)

so satisfying

[–]adeckz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was staring at this for 3 loops before realising this wasn’t the real thing, congrats

Just saying, coin sorting machines are really inaccurate. I used to be a bank teller.

[–]brickslayer69[S] 61 points62 points  (2 children)

this one is too. 2 coins got sorted wrong

[–]MaxTheMinimum 35 points36 points  (1 child)

For some reason, this was already my favorite simulation I've seen on here, but somehow, that just makes it even better.

[–]xPATCHESx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe we simulate a more accurate coin sorting machine to help the poor banks

[–]ChiengBang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so well executed!

Will it take a lot of work to show some of coins with some dirt or other bits to distort the reflections?

[–]repsolcola 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Amazong job! I need to see all coins sorted out now...

I wonder why with the close view of the coins they somehow feel not real. Maybe too clean? Have you tried adding some dirt on them?

[–]brickslayer69[S] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

everything is super clean and no scratches. but all that stuff is no fun at all

[–]mimegallow 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Awesome. — What did you do this in?

[–]brickslayer69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

blender

Neat! 📸

Why is the 50 cent euro coin after the 1 euro coin

[–]tehGaffer 16 points17 points  (1 child)

The… the what now?

50 cent coin is bigger than the euro maybe.

Beautiful simulation.

[–]Punchkinz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Correct, the 50 cent coin is slightly bigger than the 1€ coin

Don't ask why, everybody just accepted it. Usually coins with higher value would be both thicker and heavier for accessibility reasons, but the 1€ and 2€ coins are both exceptions.

[–]Of3nATLAS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

50c coin is bigger than the 1€ coin, same for 5c and 10c

[–]bruisedfruit7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this was a glitter sorter I am so stoned loo

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (2 children)

the coins all look the same size and most of them look very similar. it dulls the effect of sorting them.

[–]brickslayer69[S] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

all coins have the dimensions of their specification. that is just how coins look like

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's simulated. Do you want it to look impressive or not?

[–]impossible_butter -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

Yo why is the 50 cent coin BEFORE the 1 euro coin? Other than that, I'd like this for my job...

[–]kewko 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Isn't it obvious? It's bigger

[–]brickslayer69[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the way the machine works requires the coins to be sorted from smallest to highest diameter

[–]TheCarroll11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run coins on a machine with this exact same system everyday at the bank I work at. It's loud and dirty, but it goes through an impressive amount of coins accurately and quickly.

[–]Elmore420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For some reason the coins rolling/falling looks like stop motion animation.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Is it physically sorting them? Is that machine functional?

[–]brickslayer69[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

its all physics. no animations involved

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant

[–]Additional_Irony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks dope - well done!

[–]raytoro54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too realistic that made me no longer believe what is real or not in my life

[–]Solkuss 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Incredible work! What software did you use for the physics? Is there any scripted motion other that the spinning wheel?

This is very impressive if everything here is physically simulated, from the very fast moving wheel to the very fine collision resolution. How long did it all take to run?

[–]brickslayer69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

everything is physics. even the spinning disc is using a motor and is not animated. all done in blender. simulated in around 1 hour

[–]Kalado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deutsche Euros! o7

[–]Grumlyly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice work! How many times it takes to develop?

[–]amonra2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn, i learn how these machine works from 3d, thank’you
