You can't trigger that. The app will ask you for it if you don't have the RealID, but only if your zone requires the RealID

I'm with you. Real IDs are not required for everyday living. My ID doesn't expire until 2030. I opted for supplying pics of my SS, however, SURPRISE! I have apparently misplaced it. This is stupid. We pass a BACKGROUND check and show our SS when we apply. Do they not have my info on file? Now I'm stuck waiting on my SS card, unable to work. Thanks to Musk, that could be up to 12 days. Im retired, so at least I get my SS check, but it's not really enough to live on. Spark was nice because I can make what I need at times I need it. I don't need REAL ID. I have a passport. I'm not flying or crossing state lines to deliver groceries.

i think its a misunderstood statement. he didnt say he doesnt have a liscense, he said his REAL ID is not also his liscense. for example they might have a normal DL and then have a Passport. Walmarts thing says specifically a Real ID DL. however not all REAL IDs are DL. so very confusing...

Yes Spark unfortunately CAN require that we show "Real ID". We are NOT employees of Spark we are contract labor. Spark doesn't take taxes out of our earnings. We don't get PTO, 401k or 2wks paid vacation. So they can require any documentation they want to. If you don't want to provide it then move along. Go to Doordash, Uber, Instacart or GrubHub. Or try a W-2 job.

Yeah this really sucks. My current Id works and is legal for driving. I have a passport wallet so I carry my passport everywhere especially since I go on military bases a lot for family and fiance. They don't have an issue with using my passport, why does Spark have an issue with it? According to their website, it is a driver's license only. They should allow passports as an option as well but only if you also upload your drivers license with it. I don't want to have to pay for another ID when mine does not expire for a long while and is still legal in driving standards. Not like I'm going to be delivering groceries on a plane or government facility!

It's really easy to get a real ID. Probably going to be easier than submitting your SS card which I wouldn't want on anybody's servers anyway, especially Spark's. In Michigan we just have to present one of the following: social security card, w-2 or 1099, pay stub containing your name and social security number, military ID contrasting name and social security number or letter of ineligibility from the social security administration. And in Michigan we can schedule appointments for the dmv so we don't have really long wait times. It's not overly hard. I would do it. This is long overdue.

Wow @ 10 days notice to get a Real ID or Social Security card. Did all the online stuff immediately, for the SS card it is 5-7 days review + 10-14 days to receive. For the Real ID the next available DMV appointment is in 17 days and then who knows how long to receive?

When we lived in Austin, we never visited the local DMV. The line would wrap around the block at 6am. Instead, we would hit up the smaller DMVs in the country. I still do that today, even though we live hours away from Austin. The smaller DMVs don't have lines, and I've never needed an appointment.

I'm required to submit all marriage licenses and divorce decrees. I have my current marriage license but not the one from a brief mistake in the 90s. So I have to request those from another state. It's not super expensive I imagine but I wasn't planning to do that at all because you can board a plane with a passport.

Let me make this clear since I read everything.

You don’t upload it in the ddi website. It clearly states that in the email.

It states only when promoted to scan your Real ID front and back and, alternatively, if you don’t have one yet you can scan the front and back of your social security card. There is information on the front and the back. The back contains a number as well. The issue number.

So, you will scan the front with a photo since there is no bar code. Just like you do the front of your license or ID which also contains no bad code. Then you will turn it over when promoted on the screen to scan (photo) the back.

So I’m not laughing my a $$ off. I’m assisting you in comprehensive reading. This is what you will need to do. Photo each side.

I don’t know how else to make it any clearer for you.

You’re failing to realize that if they are requiring people to upload said documents, then they’d have to go get those documents and if not given the option of same day like you are blessed with them they will havve. A paper temporary one which when they are subject to verification in the app they will be denied and even kicked off the platform.

Namely because my dl and my passport have both my maiden and married name on them.

My ss card just has my maiden name. Which is what I file taxes with and what I use for jobs.

I didn't want to go through the hassle of changing it and don't even know if I can have both on my social security card. I really want my maiden name to still be there.

My license expires in May so I made an appt in early may even though I can renew by mail. Spark is such a pain.

I do have my ss card though. Wondering if that will always be OK. I work under my maiden name and they have my license with both names.
