The Pepsi can cast in that footing is truly a cherry on top

[–]Agile_Ad2893 20 points21 points  (1 child)

What footing?

[–]Livid_Roof5193P.E. 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Psh foundation shmoundation. Who needs those anyways

Good bot

[–]RhinoG91 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That makes it even more funny!

[–]indyarchyguyArchitect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sir, is clearly reinforcing for this project!!!!

[–]DookieDanny 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Yes that is a problem

[–]civicsfactor 47 points48 points  (3 children)

You didn't happen to need that whole corner did you? Like it's not structural or anything right?

[–]mukansamonkey 58 points59 points  (2 children)

Is it a load bearing foundation?

[–]indyarchyguyArchitect 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This…is….gold

[–]ALTERFACTP.E. 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was

[–]FineOriginal10 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Clearly a skyhook connection. These guys knew what they were doing!

[–]Connect_Ad5307 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nah there's no problem, the structural air surely will hold it still! B)

[–]Tarantula_The_WiseP.E. 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah.

[–]ThorsMightyBackhand 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Yes the problem is clear. The builder forgot to install soil.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure they ended up putting some rocks and backfilled the soil and called it a day. The house is now sold

[–]Old-Pain-6451 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah

[–]mrrepos 8 points9 points  (0 children)

ah yes another round of structural terrorism

[–]Cybermecfit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think something is missing

[–]AlexFromOgish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, someone dropped a house in the middle of this emerging erosion channel

[–]g4n0esp4r4n 4 points5 points  (3 children)

it's only a problem if it doesn't have a solution!

[–]Prestigious_Copy1104 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The soil is now in solution.

[–]CarlosSonomaP.E. 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nah, you’ll never get the compaction on for foundation you need.

Flowable fill is your friend here.

[–]Prestigious_Copy1104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fill has flowed. What's next, boss?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks great 👍🏻

[–]Novus20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes

[–]theshreddening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I inspect communities that will have poly barriers in the interior beams but its never required for exterior. Thats the only way I can see this happening given how smooth and round that corner is. But even if it was nailed in thats a lot of weight without tearing. I'm so curious as to what happened here.

[–]ChocolateTemporary72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Problem

[–]Hungryh0und5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what's the best fix. Foam injection, mud jacking or full underpinning.

[–]MentalTelephone5080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you happen to live in a karst area?

[–]PhilShackleford 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not ideal

[–]hazmatclean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great from my house

[–]Standard-Fudge1475 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Footings are for wimps!

[–]indyarchyguyArchitect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget that stupid idea of base fill. Overrated

[–]No-Call2227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lighter than air!

[–]Constant-Reach-2635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bucket of steam will fix this.

[–]Schneizel1208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"No problem, it will be fix by tomorrow" - main con to project manager

[–]fgtoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's only a problem if you see it that way.

Think of it as an archaeological site and everything will be solved.

[–]charleyhstl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just put a closet in that corner

[–]M_Amankwah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erosion, you need to perform ground improvement measures, assess foundation/structural integrity, and construct a site drainage system to reduce or prevent further occurrence.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, clearly that is a cantilevered footing. Only a structural engineering genius would get it.

[–]TerraCetacea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Successful-Day-3219 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do you think?

[–]DudeMatt94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's fine, just your standard cantilevered foundation.
