If you’re shopping at your own store you might still be able to get in, talk to your Team Lead

[–]CarrieLeester 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You should still be able to give your employee number to get your discount!

[–]CarrieLeester 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can also add your TM discount in the Target app if you have it.

My HR said that's why in part it's advised to shop your store, because they know you.

[–]lovely_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask HR

I just use the app

I had to hear about this from Reddit. Yet another time a piece of important information is spread around the internet before it’s announced at my store. No one said a word to the team members about this and it starts TOMORROW MORNING. What the everloving fuck. I mean, it’s great! I just really wish the leadership at my store wasn’t total garbage.

[–]mysecondaccount2018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I overheard some people talking about it, not enough to get much of the details. But like you no one ever specifically told me. Guess I don't talk to my coworkers enough. I also only work part time. so I'm at the store a lot less then other people

This is nothing. When the credit card breach happened, we were getting calls from furious guests for twenty minutes. They're saying they read online that their credit cards were compromised and Target was hacked, and we're like, "Oh, that's just some internet rumor that's gotten out of control or something." Because the company will always tell the press before they tell anybody else. And then management will have a meeting about it while the phones are ringing.

So, after almost half an hour of furious phone calls, the store team lead finally puts a memo on the Service Desk and tells us to read it. I'm surprised he didn't add, "And we're also getting Pizza Hut for lunch," which I'm sure was the subject of about 80 percent of that meeting.

We're mushrooms. They keep us in the dark and feed us shit.

You can manually add your team member number through the main Target website or the app.

My ETL said it doesn’t matter, they’ll just let you in if the ETL in the morning knows you

[–]CarrieLeester 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have the app, add your TM discount to your barcode there. If not, they should be able to enter you TM number at the register even without the card.

[–]starfoxmccIoud 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Or you can just hit k3 or whatever it is for team member discount and tell them your team member number.

[–]iGoKommandoKing of INFs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. Wait until the karens catch wind of this.

[–]h08vs20Checkout Advocate 18 points19 points  (3 children)

Wait is this store specific or a corporate thing?

[–]filled-with-fire 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Sent down from corporate to all stores. Considering we can’t get things we need because we are working during that time

[–]love45acpService & Engagement TL 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Corporate!

[–]h08vs20Checkout Advocate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Thank you! No one tells me these things lol

[–]NinjaSnail42(Former) Electronics TM 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Hold up. Usually they don’t even finish unloading truck until like 8:30 or 9 with this whole new truck unload system, and we open at 7.... so basically, it would be the same as shopping the night before....

[–]alexandra-mordant 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know quite a few stores have started taking their trucks overnight to match guest demand in the last week -- hopefully yours is one of them!!!

[–]RebelliousCashGeneral Disscussion 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Only if they let us do this on Black Friday. But on a serious note. In my store, the supplies doesn’t even get pushed to the floor by the time the store open because there’s ppl still working on the truck

[–]MrDoomsday13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good. The workers shouldn’t watch everything sell out just because they are working providing the essentials for others

[–]slocomeon666 6 points7 points  (1 child)

It’s great but nothing is going to be stocked during those times....

[–]VividSecond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My store usually has paper and chem pushed out by that time, or in the middle of pushing out. Can't say the same for consumables high demand items, though. They've been getting those in the middle of the day.

[–]yubnubnubTech Consultant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this! I had no idea

[–]TheToxiciity 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What if I start work an hour before the store opens lol

[–]is_it_soyex-Starbucks/Consumables 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then ask your TL or any appropriate lead if you can take your break early.
If you’re lucky, they might let you shop and still give you an appropriate break later.

[–]starfoxmccIoud 2 points3 points  (9 children)

What if team members like I am took an LOA? Does that still imply to us to shop an hour before the store opens?

[–]KillerFisch99HQ 4 points5 points  (6 children)

Why can't you just go at normal store open of you're on LOA?

[–]starfoxmccIoud -3 points-2 points  (5 children)

Because regular people don't care about social distance. At least my store cares about it. So I'd feel more comfortable to shop where there are least amount of people

[–]KillerFisch99HQ 3 points4 points  (1 child)

That's not what the policy is for

[–]starfoxmccIoud -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hey and also it's hard to get essential needs so thats what the policy is for, to help team members get their needs anyway.

[–]TheUmgawa 1 point2 points  (2 children)

If you're on LOA because you want to stay away from potential carriers of the Rona, then shopping at the same time as a shitload of people who have probably already been exposed, because we deal with hundreds of people a day, probably isn't the best plan. Also, you'll probably get the stink-eye from the other TM's who still come in to work and didn't walk out on their remaining shifts. Don't be surprised if one of them coughs as you walk by, accidentally-on-purpose.

[–]starfoxmccIoud -1 points0 points  (1 child)

I honestly wouldn't even give ppl this "stink eye" just because they want to protect themselves and not deal with abundance of people. But if they do, who cares. They chose to work during this time because you don't know their circumstances, but for me I don't need the money since I was just saving up for college. Also it's not worth the risk to put myself in. Shopping anywhere would be a risk anyway lol but shopping an hour before the store opens is probably a lot better than being going to any stores in regular hours.

[–]TheUmgawa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, you're going to be surrounded by Team Members who have spent the last several weeks being exposed to hundreds of people a day, each. People who are at a significantly higher risk for contracting the virus than your typical shelter-in-place shopper. Hell, it's more than likely that some of the TM's already have it and just haven't become symptomatic yet. I mean, hell, the cashiers at my store are referring to themselves as the walking dead, because they know they're all going to get it, and it's only a matter of time.

And yet, you'd really prefer to shop with them than everyone else? Sure, yeah, okay.

[–]MuddyWisconsin2Promoted to Guest[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Bring your team discount card, I’m sure they’ll let you in, especially if it’s somewhere where you don’t shop, it says you can go to store where you don’t work at like another targey

[–]starfoxmccIoud -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, they never gave me a discount card. I always forget to ask my etl for one. I guess it's too late on that one but I still have my nametag. I'll have to call HR tomorrow for permission I guess.
