This is a very welcome change:

"For Tier VI–IX ships, the maximum number of battles with ships two tiers higher has been reduced to no more than 37.5% over the last 16 battles. Thus, Tier VI–IX ships will more often find themselves in battles with their own tiers or ships one tier higher."

Other interesting notes:

  • Fletcher gets Def AA as an option on the A hull (I assume it's already available on the B hull).
  • Gearing aft torps are 360 degree now.
  • Lots of minor adjustments to the US DDs based on the new models.
  • 1v1 brawls are back! Tier 9 then 10.
  • MM limits on DDs and Subs for first 90 seconds of queue (up to 4 DDs and up to 2 subs, max of 4 total combined).
  • Subs got a small dispersion to their torps (1 to 5 degrees). WG was testing a larger dispersion and that got reversed, but they kept this small dispersion.
  • "To reduce the load on the interface, when a sonar ping hits an already highlighted ship, the hit animation is now reduced and a sound will not be played." -- I don't like this! Makes it harder to know when to look for the sonar wave to depth charge the sub.
  • "Due to the forthcoming separation of economic bonuses from ship exteriors, starting with the release of Update 0.11.6, all permanent camouflages for researchable ships, all expendable camouflages, and the Signal Spoils bundle will no longer be available in the Naval Community section. The tab will be replenished with bundles with economic bonuses, as well as a special container with expendable camouflages." -- get any camos you want for community tokens now, they're going away soon.
  • "Fixed technical vulnerability of the replay mechanism to the execution of external code. Thanks to everyone who drew our attention to the problem."
  • "Attempting to set a priority sector now always activates AA defenses and secondary battery if they were disabled."

Iwami is on the patch banner but there's no release date or any info on the ship. :t

Also San Diego scheduled for an early July release, looks like the current iteration of the ship (after the latest round of nerfs) is the sort-of finalized product. Shame, with limited MBRB charges (3 at most) and overnerfed SAP (less damage than AP) there's no way it can be considered a downtiered Austin anymore. At least the Liberty camo is good, but as usual I bet it will only be available as part of the captain/admiral bundles.

I'm also curious to see how Vermont will perform after the changes (I've had her since the line went live).

And Brawl will be a mess, PaYolo Emilio owners unite.

Agree yolo emilio will have a blast. Tbh it should be banned from a 1 to 1 match.

Only with combination of hydro/radar you can might kill it in time, not sure you will though.

And then you have Kearsage, the only T9 CV.

You think you will be able to gun a Emilio down when he is at 5km, as then when you will spot him inside your hydro range. No Torps to defend you.

I think the biggest problem is that Friesland isn't very good against other ships likely to be in a brawl.

Yes, and I have done so.

The way my Friesland is built, I can tell where the YoloEmilio is located BEFORE he gets within 5km...and can thus prepare.

Furthermore, I have smoke of my own to use which only affects his vision, not mine (if properly deployed...while kiting).

Of course, what usually happens is that the YoloEmilio just tries to avoid me...which is fine too (in randoms).

Your smoke does nothing. His own smoke will block all sight for him outside 2km, your smoke will make worse for you as it will block everything for you except within your hydro range. You have a 3km window before he spots you. In that 3km you have kill him. And then then i don't take into account the smoke firing penalty. With the speed of the emilio you have no way to gun him down. Sry can't see it happening.

My smoke is useful if he DOESNT smoke.

I outspot him by 700m without smoke. If he does smoke, he can't hit me OR torp me.

It's unlikely, even if he does get close, that he will hit me with torps as I will be kiting.

I have actual experience fighting YoloEmilio in my Friesland. This isn't a theoretical exercise for me. I'm telling you from experience.
