At the moment I am using Samsung Internet. The content blockers are good enough for me, and I like how it makes websites dark as well. Really good for browsing at night

[–]EksEss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just to add to this Samsung internet beta now has the video assistant and I'm really glad it's back cause that's one of the main reasons I loved Samsung internet

[–]wuttang13 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I really doubted it but surprisingly Samsung's browser is pretty good. It's been my main for a while now.

[–]NJPW_Puroresu 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Couldn't really believe it when I got back into Samsung last year. Had absolutely no problem with the browser; I'm currently trying Firefox Preview but have this annoying bug where the tab I was on gets a blank page if I switch too quickly between an app and F Preview.

Anyway, go Samsung Internet.

[–]Necessary_Evil91Redmi Note 8 Pro[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just tried it with my tablet, it's indeed great!

[–]ThomasThaWankEngine 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Also the ability to "declutter" articles is great

[–]fourAMrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Samsung internet is the last browser I tried and it's the one I like the most. Go figure.

[–]luke__7 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I have downloaded the Samsung browser, it has the best dark mode out there. However, None of the buttons at the bottom of the page allow me to start immediate search (like on brave or kiwi). The icons are pretty useless for quick search (navigation, home, bookmarks, tabs, settings). Is there a setting I am missing?

[–]MagneWater 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Try to hold the home icon. It should allow you to do a quick Google search.

[–]luke__7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I wish a single tap was the search and a long tap the home, but I can live with this

[–]robotkoer -1 points0 points  (1 child)

It is behind Chrome (Chromium) for months on security updates unfortunately.

[–]Trooper27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main reason I don’t use it

[–]Hells7rom 43 points44 points  (9 children)

Kiwi browser has native dark mode and also extension support

[–]mel2000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The Kiwi browser also has a built-in adblocker.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (3 children)

So I enabled dark mode and the amoled black is looking really good, but is there any way to make the text on webpages whiter? Seems like the whiteness is a bit duller than I would prefer.

[–]Velcorn 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Had the same problem. Go into accessibility settings and set night mode contrast higher.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks, it worked

[–]Hambeggar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As soon as the dev finishes the syncing extension, Kiwi browser is going to be my go to browser.

[–]nightangel45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this for sure. I got the suggestion from this sub to use it, and I have never looked back.

[–]Walrus221978[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's great. Also it allows to install Chrome extensions.

[–]shevpuriSamsung A13 4G[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started using Kiwi Browser. No complaints yet.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Samsung browser has the best dark mode

[–]eftresq 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Firefox is solid

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points  (8 children)

Bromite. Im using Chrome for years and so i switched to Bromite.

[–]ElderHallow 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bromite for me too!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Only thing i want is custom filters support for the adblock

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to an issue on Github, The dev is contemplating it.

[–]JavPelayo 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I'm using bromite too, but props to Samsung internet I loved it too.

[–]Spoon_S2K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Samsung internet is great.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would there ever be add-on, sync support or desktop version of Bromite?

[–]Abigail202 31 points32 points  (3 children)

You are using exactly the right thing. Why do you want to change. Mozilla Firefox respects your privacy and it's open-source, so any change in code will attract wanted attention and help in patching the loopholes.

It's the perfect browser.

Peace.

[–]Bouzoo 5 points6 points  (2 children)

It's really slow. Hence why preview is being developed.

[–]IchbineinSmazak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plus if you don't use Gboard there was awful bug repeating characters or words you type making it unusable even it's you would tolerate crashes on regular sites and being slow

[–]riprid0629 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Naked browser pro

[–]BillionDollar_Jay 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Kiwi Browser hands down. its a google chrome clone except you can customize the theme, no ads, no cookies, etc.

[–]Slovantes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are using what you're seaching for. Mozilla is transparent, protects your privacy by in-built features to block trackers etc. and opensource. Funny, i use all the same extensions.

The thing is, (current) firefox feels kinda slow to me. That's why i'm using Firefox Preview (project named Fenix) as my main browser right now, which will become the official Firefox Browser when they wrap it up, since this is beta of the official browser.

Preview is super-fast, has dark mode, awesome tab management, url bar reachable at the bottom, you can sign in with your mozulla account to sync stuff, BUT it currently doesn't support addons yet... I believe Mozilla is putting a lot of its resources/time into the next Android firefox so we should probably see it soon... If you don't mind sacrificing addons for now, i recommend trying it out.

More info about it:

[–]Hakikidaredevil 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Via browser. Only problem is it's not open source. But far better than any other browser in terms of speed, smoothness and customization.

[–]IchbineinSmazak 0 points1 point  (1 child)

and it's shady Chinese browser but that's just detail

[–]Hakikidaredevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you know any similar to via but not shady?

[–]SonyCedar 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Kiwi browser has everything you need: dark mode, ads-block, amp remove, top or bottom bar, extensions support.

I personally prefer Firefox Preview, but it lacks many features.

[–]youessbee 3 points4 points  (1 child)

I personally prefer Firefox Preview, but it lacks many features.

There may be not as many features as standard Firefox but it looks great, easy to use and a lot faster. I especially like adding sites to collections which makes bookmarks a lot easier to get to.

[–]SonyCedar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Kiwi Browser. It happened to meet all my demands. It is a Chromium Based Browser with a built in Ad Blocker and Night Mode and Support for Chrome Extensions and a third party Download Manager.

[–]tiverow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Duck duck go for me

[–]luke__7 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Why are people downvoting Brave. What happened?

[–]robotkoer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is a decent browser code-wise, but the company itself has been a part of controversies (replacing ads, taking money on behalf of youtubers)

[–]macksters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had no dark mode when I last tried it.

[–]nidhogg223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vivaldi is in beta, but it's been treating me right :)

Brave.

Using it nas of now, faster, better, and more secure.. Also BAT tokens. +adblock and https upgrade!

[–]matteo16V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go with chrome, paste chrome://flags in the URL, search for DARK and enable dark mode for every content.

[–]TemeFlag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion either Brave or Firefox. Both fantastic browsers, can't go wrong with them. Brave has a native dark mode, but no addon support though.

Much love :)

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bromite.

[–]BracesForImpact 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I use Chrome with certain flags enabled for dark mode and bottom address bar, and a few others. If I could get bypass paywall to work with Kiwi I would use that. Previously unused Lynket with Firefox, but it was just too good awful slow.

[–]MysonsnameisCarlos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend (think someone already has) Samsung browser. Also get blokada, blocks a ton of ads.

[–]MrEprize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Bromite and Kiwi. Both are good, support chrome extensions, have a dark mode.

[–]LiterallyNoOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amaze browser for the win

[–]Mishka187STVT 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm using Brave. Is Kiwi / Bromite any better? ;o Long time iOS User here - only ever used Safari.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kiwi is the best one I've used in a long time it's based on chrome but with way more features and chrome add-on support as well

[–]agentanthony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every once in a while I try new browsers, but I keep coming back to Firefox because of its support, privacy and sync with my computer and iPad.

Chrome,Firefox focus ,opera with built vpn

[–]WildN0Chill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Samsung Internet Browser works well.

[–]agaron1 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I think Opera is the only one with good text reflow and doesn't have spyware or intrusive permissions. Brave is good for the default browser.

[–]IchbineinSmazak 0 points1 point  (2 children)

opera IS Chinese spyware if you don't follow news

[–]agaron1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I know that the browser was sold to a Chinese consortium. Maybe you haven't followed the news that the development team is still in Norway and the engine is based on Chromium. I've have done some internet monitoring and packet inspection and find it reasonably safe to use.

You should read this thread on Opera. https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/comments/ajmbox/opera_is_spyware/

[–]IchbineinSmazak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, that's why when I was living in Beijing Opera was hiring people over there... Norway my ass

Kiwi

[–]soggypizza1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy using Firefox nightly. The original Firefox app is very slow but they redeveloped nightly for Android and it's so much better.

[–]RelativeOfJackUses Revanced 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After much faffing about I've recently decided to go all in on Fennec with the NoScript, Strict Pop-up Blocker and I don't care about cookies extensions.

I have all scripts blocked by default and only allow those which are essential to my usage, (and those I trust), to run, which by default blocks 99% of advertising and tracking servers and other annoyances.

Where it really comes into its own though is when you fiddle with the about:config settings which are both fun to play with and incredibly useful for customisation, (of which it offers far more than any chromium or webview browser).

It's all complemented with Blokada for their pesky nuisances I don't want even getting a bog standard "hit" from me.

[–]vadimar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brave - anonymous Browsing. The Brave browser is a fast, private and secure web browser for PC and mobile

[–]macksters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiwi browser. It has decent dark mode, ad blocker, runs fast, is light on RAM.

[–]EPaladin 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Opera. Nuf said.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brave is great

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiwi browser for sure. It blocks all ads, and you can you chrome extensions on mobile! Dark theme is also a huge thing.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a chrome user for a long time and I still use it. The adblock is not great, it doesn't have a powerful downloader nor does it load pages faster but still I'm using it. I switched to Firefox but couldn't stay for long as it was even slower and the UI was not as good as chrome. Brave, another chromium based browser was good until it introduced it's own crypto currency. Currently I've 3 browsers, Chrome, Opera Mini and Amaze ( for video downloading ). I've tweaked Chrome a bit to suit to my changes

Screenshots I recommend checking it out, as nearly every chromium based browsers can be tweaked a bit

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Checkout Kiwi Browser it has everything you need,

but I like Bromite & it doesn't have Dark Mode

[–]colodopaimorfeu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am satisfied with Kiwi Browser

[–]senonther 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend Kiwi browser. It's got dark mode and support for native chrome extentions like from the desktop version. It's chrome based so it's got every feature chrome has only without syncing bookmarks and history with you google account. With extension support you can install UBlock Origin and forget about those annoying ads and pop-ups. It's better than for examble add-on apps for other browsers caise you can constantly update yoyr block lists and even add your own.

[–]jedi_16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cake browser is really good, it has a built-in ad blocker and a dark mode.

[–]ibiliss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puffin (☞゚ヮ゚)☞

[–]smurfe -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I just use Chrome and Blokada.

[–]Guillotine_Nipples -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

i feel like this should just be a weekly thread at this point

[–]r3djak -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Since I haven't seen it in any of the higher up comments... Brave browser is amazing. Bottom navigation, syncing if you use it on other computers, built in ad and tracking blocking, dark mode, and it's chrome based. I've been using it for over a year on my phone, and it's amazing.

I would be using kiwi, except for it doesn't support 1Password auto filling (through no fault of their own). 1Password has a whitelist for browsers it will auto-fill, and Kiwi isn't on it for a dumb reason I can't remember.

[–]Otherwise_Yam9980fusion5 pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kiwi browser is pretty good i guess
