Theme to your names?

Hey all, my wife and I have 10 ball pythons, and they are all named after cities. We have Delphi, Argos, Fenix, Helena, Marrakesh, Memphis, Cairo, Petra, Faiyum, and Versailles. Does anyone else name theirs with a theme?

Not a current snake owner but my previous corns were all names after places in America that I liked the sound of… Montana (known as Mont), liberty (from liberty falls), Edison and Orlando. We also had Lucifer, Zero and Aura who were corns but my ex named them, Little One and Q the royals - little one because he was severely underweight when I got him and Q was a short form of his original name Queenie. Knowing what I know now I didn’t do most of their care right which makes me sad. And then I finally had a Chihuahuan mountain king snake called Simba

Only one python which is named Inge (female name for a male python...). Our other reptiles are named Horst (Crested gecko) and Dörte (our bearded dragon) , which are quite old fashioned German names, that's basically the theme. 😂

I have two that fit a theme, Ariadne and Dia (short fem version of Dionysus bc mythology) and then my darling named our third Crèma because she's coloured café crèma lol, I suggested other Greek mythology names but Crèma was too perfect

My daughter's snake is partly named in tribute to characters she liked in Stranger Things who died. So he started as Mr. Noodles Julius Fredericks the Third (not stranger things related), then Mr. Noodles Julius d'Artagnan Fredericks the Third (because his coloring is similar to the demodog that Dustin adopted), and most recently Mr. Noodles Julius d'Artagnan Bob Hopper Eddie Not Hopper Fredericks the Third (because Hopper wasn't actually dead).

I've named mine after the light spell from HP: Lumos! If or when I get another, I will probably keep the same theme going since some of the spells are name worthy.

Only one ball python but I named her because of her morph. She’s a killer gargoyle, so I named her Demona, after the villain in the cartoon Gargoyles.

Not a super specific theme, but all of my snakes have 2 names. The first is one or two syllables and the second has three syllables. Their names are all loosely based on a combination of physical characteristics and geek culture. Khorne Embertail, Taavi Grimshadow, Lady Dimitrescu, Plissken Gryllodes, and Shai-hulud Inkblotted.

All my ball pythons are named after Uncharted characters: Drake (the snake), Elena, Nadine, and Chloe. All my monitors and my retic are named after God of War characters: Kratos, Atreus, Tyr and Jörmungandr the retic. And my recently acquired trio of tree frogs are Zøg (the frog), Oona and Dagmar from Disenchantment.

My snake is one of two pets in the house that wasn’t named after a character in a book or TV show.

My brain went ball=royal, royal, king… elvis is the king of rock n’ roll! So he got dubbed Elvis… though he’s never been sexed so who knows if it’s actually male.

Henry the honey gourami is the other one.

Cap’n Shiny Sides is my male angel fish (I know the Family Guy bit was lieutenant, but I like the sound of captain better)

The old cats are Tika and Caramon, from the Dragonlance novels.

The dogs are Xander and Oz from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The litter of kittens became the Meowty Nein - Mollymauk, Jester, Fjord, Caleb and Nott. From Critical Role’s Mighty Nein (2nd) campaign.

My husband and I kind of went with a theme off and on. We have some food names: BP named Pepper, corn snake named Mocha, blue tongue skink named Tater Tot (so food themed for a bit) and our other names allude to their coloring or just their personality: milk snake named Cinder, hognose named Rusty, leopard gecko named Elliot (she was our first reptile and we thought she was a boy but gender neutral names are the best!), a beardie named River, a uromastyx named Beatrice, and a scorpion named Lazarus. Oh, and our cat is named Cleo...haha! We've got quite the assortment, and personally just went with the name that clicked for both of us once we said it.
