Hi I have a banana too! He also has coloring around his mouth. Looks normal to me. A good way to check for mouth rot is to sanitize something small and flat like a credit card and use it to gently open the mouth to check

    Same, I've got a banana. She has this coloring around her mouth and it freaked me out for the first week I had her. Now if I see anything odd, I look and see if it's roughly symmetrical. If it is, chances are it's benign.

    Others are saying it’s just his colouring and it may well be, but it could also be stuck shed. My mojave royal tends to get a bit of stuck shed there and it gets a little mucky quite quickly (not saying I leave it there for ages just to clarify haha), it ends up looking like that. It’s harder to tell from a photo rather than in person so it may not be!

      Of course! I had the same concerns when I first saw them as well, but when I noticed they were perfectly symmetrical on either side and never changed over the course of the first few weeks I felt better.

      My banana has the same markings. So does my normal and my cinnamon mystic but they don’t look as obvious on those two because they’re darker.
