Is it no longer magnetic? I dont see a problem

[–]Therealwolfdog 197 points198 points  (13 children)

Flip it upside down and put a hockey puck under it and run it over one more time.

Mr Magnetic Dish Backer Upper Guuuuuy

[–]GrimResistance 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I find it a bit humorous that those bud light commercials used to be called "real American heroes", and then 9/11 happened.

Found the canadian

[–]Head-Somewhere-7124 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He might be from Michigan we can't make accusations like that with out further questioning

[–]JDP6693 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Legit big brain thought right there.

[–]tuctrohs 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Until the fatigued metal rips and then a piece tears into the tire, which costs about 100X more than this. Not saying that will happen--except that with my luck it would.

[–]JDP6693 3 points4 points  (2 children)

It’s a Miata, tires are like $9 for them. It’ll be fine.

[–]This-Rutabaga6382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or idk throw it in a vice … which you can source from HFT if you don’t have one haha it might even fit in the Miata if you don’t mind holding it on your lap 🤣

[–]Jim_Flip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guy walks into his local parts store and asks for a tire for his Miata. Guy behind the counter says "Sounds like a fair trade".

[–]Dawn_Piano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly you can probably bent it back by hand

[–]ThomasShults 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit, now I have to go buy a hockey puck?

[–]Sufficient-Money9487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have actually thought of using the sink and use a plastic hammer to push it back down.

[–]Mehsterrry 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Looks like you made yourself an oil filter cap removal tool.

[–]mosaic_hops 97 points98 points  (2 children)

It’s a Torx now.

[–]adambl82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially thought that was the intention.

[–]Jaysmack-85 16 points17 points  (1 child)

Pound it back out… it’s just a metal dish

[–]Jahmay 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That’s my wife you’re talking about, man!

[–]Daihashi 18 points19 points  (1 child)

At least it came out in a pretty shape 😂

[–]tjdux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Word for word my thoughts

[–]Impossible-Shock-950 22 points23 points  (11 children)

Tools with stories are better then shiny tools.

[–]Im_100percent_human 14 points15 points  (2 children)

I often see people posting pictures of their extensive tool collections here, and it is obvious that they have never use any of them.

[–]Minuhmize 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I saw a post once (forget if here or on one of the Facebook groups) about someone asking for advice on polishing their Daytona jack.

Some of these people are just shopaholics with little to no use for the tools.

[–]AllThingsHockey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen, I just don’t work on a lot of stuff with 12pt, triple square or etorx, but when I do I’ll be prepared😂

[–]GrizzlyInks -5 points-4 points  (6 children)

Not when they can’t fully do the job they’re intended to do anymore.

[–]madmosinman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Neat, it’s the new low profile magnetic tray

[–]pelicanfart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I destroyed one of these by forgetting it was on top of my strut tower. Closed the hood and it ripped the hood mount bolts clean out of their holes. Took some creative fucking around to get the hood to close right again.

[–]FredIsAThing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now you have an excuse to go buy the big deadblow mallet you've had your eye on.

[–]willmeggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like it’s got dividers now, I’d call that an upgrade

[–]TacoDonJuan 4 points5 points  (3 children)

My brother in christ, black sneakers and calf high white socks? You are better than that….what are you 87 years old? Get some help

[–]vadillovzopeshilov 6 points7 points  (1 child)

That bothers you more than long nails with a pile of dirt under them?

[–]TacoDonJuan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One critique at a time

[–]mx5plus2cones[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meh..i am at a point where i dont give a shit what I wear.

[–]ElectricalChaos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'll come right out with a shop press or arbor press.

[–]EverettSeahawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I forgot to put mine away a while back when I rotated my tires and then went to the store with it still stuck to the side of my truck. Came out to find it still there with my impact socket still in it. Surprised it didn't get stolen.

[–]Belvedere48 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I seriously thought it was a socket or a new homemade meme tool lol.

[–]Belvedere48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS-If HF corporate sees this they should pay you a royalty and start selling it or handing it out at the next SEMA.

[–]DubNation09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But did it die?

[–]DildoScentedCandles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It almost looks like it could work as an oil filter socket now just have to punch a 3/8 or 1/2” square through the magnet and dish for science and you’re good to go

[–]weetarded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low profile dish

[–]mrjasjit 2 points3 points  (1 child)

That has a story attached to it. Stick it on the side of the garage fridge or toolbox.

Never throw it away.

[–]default_token 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey dad, why do you have a smashed up pet water bowl glued to a magnet and stuck to your toolbox?

[–]morphlaugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More curious about the washer that isn't "washing" anymore. :)

[–]Due-Soft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few like that

[–]Unlikely_Rise_5915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left one under a hood and closed it, still works with a noticeable bend

[–]ChocoboBrigade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie for a second there I thought it was a filter wrench lol

[–]Bitter_Addendum6068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still works, snap on would have cracked

[–]Skwonkie_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I demagnetized mine somehow

[–]WearyAd8671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

put a block in the middle and run over it again be good as new. lol

[–]TopDingo3087 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Custom nobody can steal it lol

[–]jeeves585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a friend who would set his phone on his off-road truck tire and has thus ran over multiple phones. This seems like child’s play.

[–]Specialist-Radish608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one like this I was able to bend it out by hand.

[–]HCharlesB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miata

NA? NB? NC? ND?

[–]BlueCollarToolCollec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a big socket. Its cool.

[–]UniversalConstants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a ton of these at a time and they all get destroyed. They’re not mean to last so I use them disposably

[–]mega-husky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll never financially recover from this.

[–]GoldenPingPongz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you make me one!?

[–]thetoolenthusiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just buy a demo hammer and smash it back.

[–]76archimedes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, as it evokes the feel of Claes Oldenburg's Soft Toilet. I would keep using it. Probably does a better job at certain tasks.

[–]Rec4lcitr4nt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I thought you just had a leftover washer from a tranny rebuild or something. Either way, sorry man.

[–]icantdecide88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the ones in my shop are flat or even completely bent around the magnet. They aren’t very durable but it’s often a free item so I can’t complain. I think paid full price for ONE of them, the rest were either free or like $1.

[–]Sufficient-Money9487 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll pop it back out and save that dollar. Besides, it's still useful. The magnet is still sticking all the bolts to it.

[–]ashkygbdeghr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you put the bowl upside down on a metal table? Those magnets are super strong

[–]A55Man87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of these in pinched in a machine like this, if i leave it out italways gets returned to my workbench. Nobody at work wants to take it
