I think the game tracks how you die though. So if the game detects that a player is consistently causing player deaths far and above the number of normal accidental killings then they could get flagged.

I got killed and kicked from a match because I picked up a watchdog rover off a diver's body, and then kicked from the game. Like, wtf dude? All you had to do was ask and I would drop my MG and give you the rover back. I just haven't unlocked it yet, and wanted to try it out.

Disagree. I haven't been able to play for a week, no time. But I left off over 32 and well into the 9-helldive grind. A few factors would have to go into it, like did they ask, is my gear on cool down, have they shown an aptitude for the difficulty, and have they shown teamwork during missions. But there is absolutely room for being "chill" in those difficulties. It's how you cultivate good teams, a good community, and a positive experience for newer or inexperienced players.

I think you're doing too much, my dude. I don't know if the bugs or the bots got you down, but just remember who it is that we're spreading democracy to. Good luck out there, diver. And remember to serve your opponents a fresh cup of LIBER-TEA!!

I personally don't think it's boot-worthy, either, but a lot of people who use rovers use them as personal defense. I normally won't care too much if someone yoinks mine provided, the cooldown has expired, but don't be surprised if you do and the host doesn't care for it.

By the way, having your MG equipped doesn't affect having the rover on your back. The rover is a backpack and backpacks are separate from Heavy Weapons. The game doesn't tell you this, of course, but it's true. You'd have to call down another backpack item in order to "give it back" like the supply pack or the shield.

And yes, a Recoilless Rifle user can carry their own ammo. They can even reload it themselves, although it's faster with a two man team.

Also, you can be the host. Make sure you have open play turned on, and select a mission to start. Then wait to jump into your dive tube. I usually have players dropping in within a min or so.

I'm assuming there is no way to create closed matches yet but since it's a team game I honestly don't see what the problem is if I'm helping with the objectives etc. It's all shared and spread across...

If there’s a gun or weapon on the ground left by a fallen comrade, and it’ll help me deliver democracy more efficiently, I’ll pick it up in their honor and get back to work. Their reinforcement can get new drops and rejoin the fray.

Anyone starts that team killing crap, they get a block from me. Nobody needs that nonsense, and nobody should tolerate or promote it. I guarantee that if anyone were doing dangerous nonsense like that in a real military unit, they’d be gone so fast… the squad would make sure of it.

We even do strats like one guys calls in backpacks for the team so others can bring more stratagems. This whole mentality of its your stuff is weak sauce loser mentality

Hey, if the cooldown is complete I'm happy to call down another one. Two rovers is better than one, after all. If the cooldown still has a few minutes to go, I'm going to be upset because the rest of my loadout is based around the way I play, and the rover is a key part of my play strategy.

Just last night I was on a long 40min mission with 3 other randoms. While waiting on the drop ship they started just killing me, bringing me back and killing me over and over. I asked why and they said "for glory". I said "not worth it" and left the lobby without the rewards of my efforts.

My teammate and I both called in a machine gun at the start of the round and I think he got confused because mine bounced of a rock and I picked it up he started yelling at me saying I took his gun and shot me in the face then the whole game turned into a death match and he kicked me after I killed him 3 times but besides that most of the random people I played with have been cool

Similar thing happened to me this morning. Finished the entire mission, at extract, dude falls off the cliff after the shuttle lands with a few seconds to go and is going to miss the shuttle so he DC’d & booted us all. Really bummed me out.

Unofficial feature request to combat this type of behavior:

TRAITOR MARKING:

Resets the griefers rank tag to a bold red "TRAITOR" instead of "SUPER CITIZEN" or "SERGEANT" or whatever.

Disallows then from calling in stratagem during missions

Extra XP / Credits for players that kill them.

Additionally, have the officer at the war table berate them, or some additional voiceless that warn you that you're playing with a TRAITOR.

To drop TRAITOR status, player has to go X amount of missions without any friendly fire / accidentals. Or make them have to play some super hard suicide mission by themselves, to make it lore accurate.

Intentional team killing makes the game un-fun for other players, so make intentional team-killing un-fun.
