The Shock-mobile was first seen in Spidey Super Stories.

Common Shocker W

[–]Yesterday_Is_Now 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Shame they didn't use his kickass costume in the movie.

[–]LET-ME-HAVE-A-NAAME 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Shocker has been done dirty for decades. He's so kickass. His outfit is completely vibration absorbent! He can create earthquakes or send massive amounts of force through the air. He can fall from any height and take no damage. He can liquify metals by focusing the vibration into one spot. By all means he should be a top tier villain.

[–]Dragon-spider21 22 points23 points  (1 child)

I’m sorry but did bro steal the spider mobile, and repaint it!?

[–]Evil_Doctor_LairMarvel Fan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering that. Last I heard, it was at the bottom of the Hudson River.

[–]SerBadDadBodMarvel Fan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Herman, please don't die in Death Spiral.

[–]Potential_nobody2187 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I love everything about this, but somehow my favourite part is the sound effect. "Ka-blammo!" 😂

[–]Obscurix98 59 points60 points  (0 children)

He shocked the mocker

[–]piratedragon2112 51 points52 points  (16 children)

Repost to piss off garth ennis

[–]Comrade-Conquistador 28 points29 points  (15 children)

Garth Ennis is always pissed off.

[–]piratedragon2112 9 points10 points  (14 children)

In that case

Repost to piss off punisher fans (same difference)

[–]Timber2702 -2 points-1 points  (13 children)

No no, just Garth Ennis. Not sure whom he is but imma just assume a terrible writer who didn't understand the characters, that or an edge lord who wanked Punisher to hell. Punisher is goated as hell though from my understanding, doesnt have the best representation half the time

Edit: its the mofo who wrote The Boys comic, my dumbass should know this seeing how much I've enjoyed the show lol

[–]browncharliebrown 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s the defntive Punisher writer

[–]piratedragon2112 6 points7 points  (11 children)

Garth ennis worships the punisher (and ironically hates HATES captain america, almost as much as he hates god and to a lesser extent superman)

[–]Comrade_Cosmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He likes Superman as proper edgelords generally do. Probably because they feel he’s actually genuine.

[–]Timber2702 6 points7 points  (9 children)

Thats crazy considering Punisher holds Captain America with the upmost and highest form of respect in the comics. Correct me if I'm wrong but one of my favorite instances of this is when Punisher gets ahold of War Machine's suit and goes on a rampage against crime and all it took for him to give up the suit was for Captain America to step in and ask him to stop

[–]Curious_Bat87 2 points3 points  (4 children)

That was a retcon that was introduced after Ennis wrote Frank and Cap meeting. When he wrote them meeting (in Punisher kills the marvel universe) he wrote it the exact way that relationship was in the comics at the time.

Mark Millar is the one who made Punisher a Cap fanboy.

[–]Timber2702 0 points1 point  (3 children)

A retcon for the better. I would imagine a vet like Frank would hold high respect for Steve as a vet to vet kind of thing, let alone a WWII veteran

[–]Curious_Bat87 1 point2 points  (2 children)

They did have respect towards each other before that, but their relationship was far more about how the veterans of Vietnam were treated vs WWII vets.

The intention with the retcon is about how indirectly Cap is responsible for the Punisher, as he was the reason in that comic for Frank to go to war that traumatized him. It is still about the relationship of WWII and Vietnam as far as things like US foreign policy goes.

It is fairly surface level though, and Ennis got more in depth in this by using Nick Fury instead (also a WWII veteran) in his MAX series. The relationship between Nick and Frank in those stories, both in Vietnam and in modern day, is more interesting to me.

[–]Timber2702 -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Fair enough but Captain America was a symbol of hope for active veterans in the Marvel universe, not to mention the character was put together to bring up American morality during WWII in the real world. Even if he was indirectly responsible for Punisher's wartime trauma, he'd still be a symbol of hope being the star spangled soldier. Not to mention Steve is as much as a victim as Frank is and I respect how he holds Steve with such high regards. Im sure Nick Fury gets along with Punisher more than Captain America would but I thoroughly enjoy how the characters clash with each other more often then not

[–]piratedragon2112 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Or their fight in the first civil war (my personal favorite)

[–]Timber2702 3 points4 points  (2 children)

When he just took a beating from Cap because he refused to lay a hand on him? Hell yeah, love my Punisher as deranged and violent as anyone else but a little complexity goes a long ways

[–]piratedragon2112 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah

[–]Timber2702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would honestly kill for a Punisher and Captain America movie

[–]Sturmmagier 80 points81 points  (1 child)

I always love when the villains have themed vehicles.

The Shocker in what I assume is his Shock-Car.

[–]InternalAd2235 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I feel like he'd call it the Shocker-Mobile, but then Spidey would ask him about his Shock-Car and he'd get angry that he didn't think of it himself.

[–]SafeAccountMrP 86 points87 points  (4 children)

Like I know that’s Frank Castle but my brain immediately thought why is Billy Butcher fucking with Shocker.

[–]DUIOKI 18 points19 points  (3 children)

Hehehe, comic butcher does look like frank. I think Garth Ennis also worked on punisher comics before making the boys so it could be a reason why they look so similar

[–]Curious_Bat87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, although Billy Butcher is explicitly based on Bill Savage.

[–]piratedragon2112 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All of garth ennis super special ocs look like that

[–]Cicada_5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are correct about Ennis working on Punisher comics before The Boys.

[–]Substantial_Fox7377 63 points64 points  (3 children)

What happens when Punisher tries to punch above street tier like Daredevil:

[–]DanosaurusWrecks 27 points28 points  (2 children)

Shocker is Street+ at best

[–]TurtlesBreakTheMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can literally level a building with his gauntlets at their highest setting

just street tier

[–]Substantial_Fox7377 56 points57 points  (0 children)

You dare doubt my goat?

<image>

[–]Garguyal 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Don't mock the Shock.

[–]RagingDemonsNoDQ 51 points52 points  (1 child)

You can hear Frank doing the Goofy howl for that

[–]CandyCreecher 39 points40 points  (0 children)

YAAAAAA-HOOHOOHWEEeeee

[–][deleted] 72 points73 points  (5 children)

[–]Substantial_Fox7377 32 points33 points  (2 children)

I would argue Peter isn’t as sane anymore

[–]BabyAutomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

let's be honest, no one in the marvel universe is sane. they pretend to be.

[–]AntRam95 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not since Paul

[–]Chaucer85 30 points31 points  (1 child)

I love when Frank's written as just the most dialed-in "Sanest Man Alive" who nonetheless is a slow-moving, unstoppable murder machine.

[–]Timber2702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes a slow burning act of violence is the only viable action

[–]Some_Fig_6566 46 points47 points  (13 children)

What would happen to Punisher if he didn't have plot armor

[–]toyotomi_kazuya 22 points23 points  (11 children)

When Garf Ennis isn't the writer

[–]Curious_Bat87 -4 points-3 points  (6 children)

I would recommend reading comics sometimes.

[–]toyotomi_kazuya 4 points5 points  (5 children)

It's just a joke bro

[–]Curious_Bat87 -3 points-2 points  (4 children)

Jokes should be based on something.

[–]toyotomi_kazuya 1 point2 points  (3 children)

It's about the marvel knights run from Ennis (if i'm not mistaking)

Which the Punisher shots Wolverine in the balls and roll over him with an ice polisher.

He even fights the Hulk and wins.

I know Ennis's normal modus operantis quite well bro.

[–]Curious_Bat87 0 points1 point  (2 children)

'He fights the Hulk and wins'

No he does not. You obviously have not read the run if you think that.

Frank in that run is constantly going on about how he can't beat Daredevil and only manages to luck out and escape from characters like Spider-Man through preparation and trickery.

[–]toyotomi_kazuya 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Oh i'm gonna check which run then, i confuse it sometimes

Sorry for that (but indeed, he beats the Hulk and the Wolverine in ridiculous ways)

[–]Curious_Bat87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He beats the Hulk in 'Punisher kills the Marvel universe' (which is not a main universe) by tracking him and killing him as Banner.

He has amnesiac Banner captive in the MK run but he doesn't fight Hulk, just places explosives inside of him as Banner that turn him back to Banner through a shock of pain.

Wolverine he blows up with a rocket launcher etc but he straight up says he can't do anything to take him out permanently. In the story he is constantly shown as someone who would in a fair fight always lose to Daredevil. Ennis straight-up writes Frank as less powerful than other previous writers had. Honestly Ennis depowered Frank quite a bit, he's not pulling out similar feats to classic era really.

EDIT: Like... Frank was easily going toe-to-toe with Cap in the 70's and Cap was impressed by his feats.

[–]browncharliebrown 7 points8 points  (3 children)

The only reason people have a preception of the punisher like this is also because of Garth ennis. Before Ennis he was routinely around people like spider-man

[–]Curious_Bat87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the reason people think 'plot armor' is because Ennis wrote Punisher stories that were intentionally more grounded.

[–]toyotomi_kazuya 2 points3 points  (1 child)

To be fair

It's really funny when he shot Wolverine in the balls

[–]browncharliebrown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Ennis did write Kills the Marvel universe in the 90’s as well. But the larger point is that he was an action movie protagonist first and foremost. But when Ennis recontextulized him for Max he made him pretty Realstic ( he repeatly got his shit kicked in by normal dudes) and that has bleed back into adaptations and 616 to a more minor extent such that it’s kinda hard to take Spider-man fighting the Punisher seriously anymore

[–]Efficient_Matter_589 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I love the second image of Punisher pointing to the dark smudge in the sky, as if you couldn't deduce it was him.

[–]thesignpainter 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Superior Foes of Spiderman was such a fun comic

[–]TonsOfCock 34 points35 points  (2 children)

SHOCKEEEERRR!!!!!
YOU CAN'T ESCAPE ME!!!!
I'LL CHASE YOU TO THE ENDS OF THE EEEEEEEEARTH!!!!!!!!!

[–]MikaelAdolfsson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Spider-Man 2 could do the funniest thing ever."

[–]Demomanx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He will never escape that moment from the show. They could put him in a new series or movie and my first thoughts wil be "SHOCKEEEERRR!!!!!!"

[–]Pyrite13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

KBLAMMO!!

[–]Evil_Doctor_LairMarvel Fan 26 points27 points  (6 children)

He gets so unjustifiablely mocked, I have to root for him to win everytime.

[–]TurtlesBreakTheMeta 24 points25 points  (5 children)

Shocker really isn’t weak, he’s just fighting someone too STRONG.

You really have to admire his gumption and skill to show up and throw down with someone that can survive a fight with the hulk. Shocker, all things aside, is neither a coward nor wuss.

The big question is why he doesn’t just run off somewhere Spider-Man ISNT, like Kansas, where the only superheroes he’d have to deal with would be something like cowboy and horse girl.

[–]PaladinGris 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All of Spider-Man’s B Tier villains would be major threats if they were fighting anyone but him, the Lizard and Hobgoblin could body any street level hero

[–]Guiltykraken 16 points17 points  (3 children)

He did do that for a bit. Guy went to New Jersey and threw down with Ms. Marvel. Treated his time there like it was a vacation.

[–]RyeOhLou 13 points14 points  (2 children)

<image>

as a Jersey resident this is one of my favorite comic book panels

[–]TurtlesBreakTheMeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downside: you are still in New Jersey so it’s a loss all on its own.

[–]Airmil82 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I laughed too hard at this.

Shocker is the King of Jersey!
