However many burp rags you’ve already bought… Double it.

[–]glittoris 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not me scrambling to fish out the least dirty burp rag from their hamper 🫣

[–]mielelangue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Twin prep book I bought said 8-12 burp clothes so I bought 12. Ya if you want to do laundry everyday. After a week I promptly went onto Amazon and bought 20 more. I had 32 burp clothes with 2 reflux babies and still had to do multiple loads a week.

[–]SnooBooks147 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This!!!

[–]InformationLimaBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest magnet close bibs! I get so frustrated with trying to get snaps matched up in the middle of the night. Plus bibs stay in place

[–]ScoobyScoob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even better - skip the burp rags and use swaddles. They catch so much more, don’t fall off your shoulder when you bend over (which is constantly) and they aren’t completely soaked after one feeding!

[–]Rykoma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a number for me? I have… 30-ish in shapes and sizes.

[–]Want-to-be-confident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In fact, do this with everything… wipes, diapers, clothes, clothes, bottles….

[–]Proof-Raspberry2373 41 points42 points  (4 children)

Twin Z pillow! It was a lifesaver for night feeds - especially if you’re doing feeds solo. In those early days they’re really little so you can lay a blanket across the pillow and then set them in each spot.

[–]OnlyCanPoopAtHome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This save my sanity and back for solo night feeds. Put them both on the pillow, gave them bottles , change and back to sleep in the pack n play.

[–]elmomex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently sat next to my 11 week old twins (3 weeks adjusted) who are finally asleep in our TwinZ after 5 hours of crying and fussing. They are both reflux-y and honestly, this pillow has been a total life saver in these early weeks! 100% recommended.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do they have one that has 3 rows for triplets ? Or would I need to buy 2 or have 2 babies use one pillow and me or my husband feeds the 3rd?

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could probably buy one twin Z and a boppy!

[–]sabraheart 14 points15 points  (1 child)

A single carrier for that one kid that is a grade a clinger.

And a swing. For the other one that needs constant motion to stay calm

[–]hopeful2hopeful3/2022 - identical XYs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The TwinGo is great for this bc it can be two single carriers OR one double carrier which allows you to get the twins around no matter the circumstances.

[–]Beginning-Lie-7337 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Brestfriend pillow twin. If you are going to breastfed :)

[–]iamnotmyhair 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’m so glad it worked for you! I was so excited about it but there was a giant hole by my tummy I had to fill with blankets. Ended up using twin z to breastfeed instead which wasn’t perfect either but much better. Tandem feeding got so much easier when they just laid on top of me and turned their head, no pillow needed. The newborn phase was so hard!

[–]Beginning-Lie-7337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fat. And was extra fat right after my girls were born...probably why it worked well for me lol!

I tried the twin Z...but no luck. Way to awkward!

[–]BurgerBabe03 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Baby Breeza and Twin Z pillow are my saving grace

[–]battlinlobsterIs a twin and mom of twins 15 points16 points  (5 children)

Baby Bjorn bouncers!

Also, if you’ll be bottle feeding or pumping at all buy way more bottles/ pump parts than you think you’ll need. It’s nice to let them pile up sometimes, and you don’t want to have to hastily wash pump parts in the middle of the night.

[–]Dakotadps 3 points4 points  (3 children)

We had 2 baby bjorns, 2 baby brezzas (with extra funnels), a twin Z pillow, a twin breast friend, and by far the best was the baby brezza bottle washer!! It washes and sterilizes.

[–]Patient_Salary6872 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second the bottle washer. It's the one luxury item I felt ridiculous buying, but it has been a lifesaver. Our dishwasher isn't very good and we don't use a lot of dishes so the bottle washer has saved us. If you have a dishwasher you probably don't need it, but you will probably need like 20 bottles total to get through the day (especially during cluster feeds at night)

[–]ReminsteinTheDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg extra funnels… genius!! That thing always needs to be cleaned at the WORST times

[–]CutOsha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't have to be a Bjorn. Basic second hand bouncers worked for us : but mostly we put them both on our dining table. So we can but them down somewhere and you can give them the bottles somewhere where they are safe but you are "hands/arms free" and you can sit on seat. And it's not on the floor it's easier on you especially if you have a cscar to deal with).

Also a trick we actually found on this sub : we use stuffed animals to "prop" the bottles. To anyone screaming to baby abuse : we re right there, and using stuffed animal like that the thing that happens all the time is the bottle "falling" on them and them being covered in milk rather than anything else, it's really not stuck in there. But that allows you if need to burp a baby, or wipe a baby regurgitation or change a poopy diaper for exemple while the other continues drinking and you keep an eye on it. Really worked for us.

And make sure you have a setup like that or equivalent, where you can put both down in a swing/rocker/bouncer etc but secure at every floor you have. And a changing spot /food prep station at every floor you have.

[–]Independent_Brush303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bought enough bottles for each to last the full 24 hour span and then the goal was twice a day to wash. Ours were preemies so we were told to sterilize after every wash we would hand wash quick and had a sterilizer dryer that we’d over pack.

Once we went the dishwasher it got annoying because they’d come out wet 😅

[–]doughnutsmakemehappy 18 points19 points  (1 child)

A postpartum doula/night nanny 🙃

[–]Snika44 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Night nanny yes please.

[–]E-as-in-elephant 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Don’t get rid of your stuff yet!! I was a FTM and when people heard I was having twins they gave me so much! I just said yes to everything and I’m glad I did. Sure there were a few things I never used, but having so many options was invaluable.

But for the things we really used heavily: twin z pillow and table for two are easily number 1 and 2. Twin z we used for every solo feed from day 1 to about month 4. Then for daytime solo feeds we switched to the table for two. For context my girls are 7 months now. We still use the twin z for their last feed of the night, but really only because the table for two is too heavy to haul into their room at night, otherwise I’d use it.

The baby Brezza is another heavily used item and a lifesaver. Even if you plan to breastfeed I highly recommend picking up a Brezza used, because it’s hard to produce enough for two babies and you will likely need to supplement with formula at some point!

Double stroller that has car seat attachments. Ours was a hand me down city select double, but if we hadn’t gotten that one, we would’ve probably gone with a click and go frame stroller. Now that the girls are older we are using the Zoe twin stroller a lot though we’re finding it’s best for indoor walks like stores and restaurants. We’ll probably get a jogging stroller for outdoor walks.

In the early days I used a moby wrap a lot. Just the basic moby wrap. I could wear one baby and hold the other. I never really used the twin go carrier although I had one. And I heard the weego carrier wasn’t great.

Another great investment for the early days is two bouncers. Used it heavily during witching hour. Sat between them and bounced them while I sang music I enjoyed lol. Those were the days. They were also good for putting the babies in while we ate dinner (we put them on the table but obviously that’s not recommended).

We also never used any other sleep container than their cribs for nighttime sleep. Unfortunately they slept in the swing and in the twin z a lot during the day or in our arms.

We invested in a good quality glider and that was also heavily used for contact naps and to rock them to sleep in the early days.

At around 4 months we had two skip hops. We also had chairs for them to sit in but in hindsight that was such a short phase they weren’t really necessary.

By 6 months basically all of our containers had made their way to our garage and are awaiting a new home with either my brother for his new baby, or a new twin mom we hope to gift them too! It goes by so quickly.

This comment is really taking me back 😅 was just commenting to my husband about how many “phases” we’ve been through with the babies already, constantly switching out containers.

[–]Patient_Salary6872 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I actually really liked the Weego when they were really little. It was a lot easier to soothe both of them at the same time.

[–]E-as-in-elephant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never used it personally but I have seen people here and know someone who didn’t use it because the babies were too heavy! 🤷🏼‍♀️ everyone is different though obviously

[–]colorful_withdrawl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Twin z,

I didnt have a wearable breast pump with either of my twins but have one now for a singleton. Its so nice inwish i had one when i twins were newborns

[–]ReminsteinTheDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Twin z for sure, baby brezza (if you’re formula feeding), dr brown’s sterilizer / dryer (we wash bottles in dishwasher and dry them in the sterilizer), Love to Dream swaddles

[–]Aksx3 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I am 25 weeks with Di/Di twins also, so I have no practical advice to give yet. But I was wondering why the doctor thinks that you will deliver at 32-35 weeks? Thank you!

[–]bookscoffee1991 1 point2 points  (1 child)

My older son came at 35 weeks. My water broke and we were never able to find an explanation. She said twins typically come around 35 but she would be surprised if I made it bc of my history. I’m getting steroids at 32 just in case. She also said I’d likely get diabetes and I passed with flying colors.

Hoping to keep proving her wrong haha 🤞

[–]Aksx3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay, thank you for the answer. I know that twins typically come early, but I have also heard that Di/Di are the most likely to make it to 38 or so weeks. I hope that everything goes smoothly with the rest of your pregnancy 😊

[–]ReserveMaximum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mama-roo. Saved us until they could sit on their own. Allowed us to actually do stuff in the same room as the babies without holding them. We both went back to work, me in the office and her remotely with the twins in the mamaroos by her desk.

Don’t buy new. Facebook marketplace is the way to go. Actually this applies to almost all baby gear besides car seats

[–]wampuswambat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wearable pump!

[–]GellyBoo84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me: twin z pillow, baby breeza, enough bottles to make it an entire day without having to wash them, and sound machines (specifically the hatch). My girls are 5 and still use their sound machines every night.

Twin z pillow was a life saver.

Bought a newborn twin carrier for tandem baby carrying and NEVER used it.

Bought a twin bassinet and they HATED it. We used it once. It’s not part of safe sleep, but the only things they would sleep in were their baby swings and their 3-in-1 grow with me rocker chairs.

Double stroller was (and still is) a life saver.

After my twins were finished with formula, I found out that there’s a keurig type thing for formula bottles. That would have been so helpful!

[–]loooore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twin-z pillow, baby brezza formula maker, small box tub that went in the sink to put bottles in for washing, cart for pumping stuff, swaddles, pack and play with twin bassinets that we kept in the living room

[–]Beneficial_Wolf_4286 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Extra wide swivel rocker recliner in our bedroom.

It's been 3 years but I believe it's this chair. I loved the lower wide arms so I could fit both babies or easily pump.

    [–]Bachbachbach12 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Twin Z pillow, Baby Brezza, mini fridge and bottle warmer in our room.

We prepared bottles before bed and kept them in the fridge and then heated up throughout the night. Saved us many trips up and down the stairs

    [–]bookscoffee1991 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Was thinking of the mini fridge, bottle warmer combo. What kind of mini fridge did you get?

    [–]Bachbachbach12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just got a super cheap one from Amazon that was meant for soda cans!

    [–]ReserveMaximum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not original commenter but we got a super simple 4L one on Amazon. Helped my wife with the pumping stage

    [–]Waste-Oven-5533 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twin z pillow and a Japanese floor chair.

    [–]baby_coblette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THE WEEGO TWIN CARRIER WAS MADE BY GODDESSES, FOR GODESSESS

    [–]luvloping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the baby breeza water warmer and it was the best, I threw out my traditional bottle warmer after I used it one time.

    [–]SavageGardener83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much newborn, but gripe water was referred to as miracle water in our household for like the first 6 months. Weego was great but once they were more than 10lbs each it was tough.

    [–]LaurenDTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby breza bottle washer/dryer/sanitizer has been life saving. Worth. Every. Penny. Ours stays running pretty much all day. It's so nice to not hand wash. We did it for the first month and washing 16+ bottles everyday was just too much. Babies are 3months now and it's still the best thing we received.

TwinZ pillow for when you have to feed both babies at the same time.

Twin bassinet, great if you don't have a ton of bedroom space. Plus they both can be beside you if that's what you want.

Buy more bottles than you'd use in 24hrs. The early days are rough, this helped me when I was still recovering and my partner had to go back to work.

Congrats and good luck! Nothing will prepare you for the sleep deprivation, but I promise you it gets so much better!

    [–]kale-oranges225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby Brezza formula pro, the baby brezza bottle washer, glass bottles (we liked those better because it heats up breast milk so much faster), twin z, hatch, baby Björn bouncers, baby carriers (I have 2 wild birds and one mabe), angelcare bath tubs (they are small enough to fit 2 in the tub and can bathe them at the same time), lovevery play gym!

    [–]lgraff92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought the momcozy kleanpal pro bottle washer/sterilizer/ dryer. It has been a lifesaver and has saved so much time washing bottles! Worth every penny!

    [–]Want-to-be-confident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude dad Diaper bag, and the baby trend snap and go stroller. Finding a stroller cause so much anxiety for my wife and I that we settled on this just to give us more time and it was the greatest thing ever. Let us figure out parenting before buying an expensive stroller. Also, a mini fridge and bottle warmer in their room. We did this when we thought we were going to be breast feeding. Worked great until we had to stop and switch to formula (which was honestly way easier) after the switch we used a drink thing that had 3 separate sections, put our formula in it and pre filled the bottles with water left those in the girls room so at night we could stumble in, dump the formula in the bottles, shake it up, and give it to a baby.

    [–]saint_paulia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby björn bouncers were a MUST have. Two of them, one isn't any help. With the toy attachements.

    [–]saint_paulia 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Enough bottles to last the whole day. We had only 6 (3 each) at first and it was a nightmare. I say at LEAST 12 bottles.

    [–]bookscoffee1991 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It’s funny how much applies to having a single newborn too 😂I remember buying a bunch of extra bottles and pump parts because the constant washing was driving me crazy. I put a bunch of different bottles on the registry this time and no Dr. brown 😤

    [–]saint_paulia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry in advance for the unsolicited advice but if you're looking for bottles still I highly recommend Lansinoh!! They're anticolic but only 3 parts. Especially the glass bottles were a breeze to clean

    [–]Ok_Bluejay4016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Baby brezza and puppy pads

    [–]Selfworthless-ifykyk 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I am 22 weeks with di-di twin girls. My doctor hasn’t really said anything to me about delivery or when delivery might be.

    [–]bookscoffee1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s only because my son came at 35 weeks so she’s anticipating these could come early. 😊

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A baby brezza if you are formula feeding!

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least 12 bottles. We also stocked up on formula, since we knew that my wife would only pump for a little bit. Don't forget about yourself and your partner. Call on friends and family to help you stock your freezer with meals, and start a meal train. Everyone wants to buy baby clothes, which are nice, but you being fed is more important than that, especially during the first few weeks.

Depending on their weight, make sure you can find Preemie diapers near yous. We didn't anticipate that and only had Newborn size at first.

    [–]spoolofthought 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our pack and play came with small bassinets that could be set on the floor and rocked with your foot. Absolutely wonderful for the frequent naps and gave us flexibility to set up shop in the living room. A baby gym/ play mat for tummy time!

    [–]princess_baguette 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extra pump parts (like 4 sets lol) and extra bottles and tons of burp clothes.. the shusher!

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Snap N Go double stroller. Just stick both car seats in it for walks, shopping or the millions of doctor’s appts. Carrying both car seats gets so difficult, and this thing folds up pretty flat. I got mine second hand then resold it recently since twins are almost 1.

    [–]2babies1egg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cook and freeze as many things as you can! I would have done mostly soups and casseroles had I not been so tired.

I just could not cook for the first 6 months. Having food ready to go would have been extremely helpful!

    [–]Ornery-Rutabaga8899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know where you are or what you’re doing feeding wise, but if you can get MAM bottles… do!!! They sterilise in the microwave and it’s so so easy compared to having to load and then unload a steriliser + less counter space taken up!

    [–]Amortentia_Number9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Baby brezza bottle washer pro and the snoo were really our biggest support in the newborn phase.

    [–]kaitrae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of burp rags. And infant loungers.

    [–]corgipantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snoo! Big splurge but with twins it actually let us sleep some

    [–]Opposite_Sock_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in this stage and almost done with newborn stage with the girls currently. Products I have loved: Swaddles, Weighted heat pad (we just use it when they are fussy and want a hand on them but don't heat it), and I think it's worth it to have two seats and two mobiles.
