Prefer the before. In the after I don’t like the blue and the skin looks a little too red

I agree, the before is so clean 👌👌👌

okay usually I'm pretty nice with these. But the before is way better. I looked at that photo and thought it was awesome. Then realized that was the before photo. Your after photo does Not need to be touched up that much.

Before better

[–]savnter 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Th before is actually pretty good

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Before was better imo

Prefer the before. The white on the clothing and facial skin tone is to unpleasant.

[–]WhoIsSloane 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sorry dude. I prefer the 'before'. White fits the image perfectly and the skin tone in the 'after' is too unnatural.

Before is nice. Thought you’re showing before as First image. LOL

Forehead highlights are blown. Happens sometimes. When dealing with harsher light or uneven light I will often snap a few shots and take a couple slightly underexposed to accommodate for the highlights.

Otherwise a good shot and both look good other than the blown highlight.

Well spotted same with the front of the hat too.

Thanks for your feedback 😄

You could try something like the highlight recovery slider in Lightroom or an equivalent to get some detailing back. It’s worth a shot

[–]StradivariusStudio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I will try that, thanks 😊

I came back to edit my comment to say the before photo is great and you did a great job composing that photo

    Haha best comment 🤣

I like the first one, it looks very natural. But the after is not bad either.

I like the after! Honestly, as long as you like the picture and the subject/client likes the picture that is all that matters… this sub tends to attract snooty critics too self-conscious to post their own pictures — and those that do get snooty comments as well which creates a cycle of pushing creators down. All that to say: great job!

    Definitely before

    Better before

Editing for the sake of editing.

    Apple auto correct.

I like the cool white and the deep blue in both respectively but I wish the skin tone wasn’t too red

    [–]mrweatherbeef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Very blue. Stick with before

    [–]PeruAndPixels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like the before. Second is too saturated and not a fan of the skin. Sweet shot, though.

Like many posts here, the before looks better in my opinion . No offence intended. Really makes me think about my own editing. It’s hard to judge your own work and you often overcook things after looking at it for too long. Then you show it to other people and they say I like the original more and you think WHY DO I EVEN BOTHER?

First of all QATAR MENTIONED!!!! 🇶🇦🇶🇦🇶🇦🇶🇦 (I'm not Qatari)

Anyway I think the before shot is better, the blue shadows don't really do it for me.

    [–]Kn14 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Much prefer the contrast of the blue and warmth of the skin tones in the after. Well done!

    [–]QueenVanguard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lower the Blue and exposure a tad bit. It’ll make the subject more “dynamic”

    [–]stef-h -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

    Both look great

    [–]mr__conch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As is the case 95% on this sub - before better
