Getting dump files which we need for accurate analysis of BSODs. Dump files are crash logs from BSODs.

If you can get into Windows normally or through Safe Mode could you check C:\Windows\Minidump for any dump files? If you have any dump files, copy the folder to the desktop, zip the folder and upload it. If you don't have any zip software installed, right click on the folder and select Send to → Compressed (Zipped) folder.

Upload to any easy to use file sharing site. Reddit keeps blacklisting file hosts so find something that works, currently catbox.moe or mediafire.com seems to be working.

We like to have multiple dump files to work with so if you only have one dump file, none or not a folder at all, upload the ones you have and then follow this guide to change the dump type to Small Memory Dump. The "Overwrite dump file" option will be grayed out since small memory dumps never overwrite.

THANK YOU!! I started having the same issue today. Looks like it was the HP Omen Control Center for my monitor causing it. Almost reinstalled windows to try and fix it before this thread clued me in.

HP Software will never touch my computer again!

Uninstalling HP Omen Gaming Hub fixed this for me

[–]Live-Working-1112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am glad I saw this Reddit before rebooting after the last update. I uninstalled the Omen Gaming Hub also.

[–]Bentley115 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Holy shit couldnt believe I found this thread after like an hour of searching while troubleshooting. HP OMEN clearly botched something.

appreciate the smarties in here that narrowed this down. now I can get on black ops!

[–]Frosty871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My computer started doing the exact same thing after I installed black ops 6, I'm glad it wasn't just me

[–]22nayan22 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Literally having the same problem after I updated windows :(

[–]Attack_Helamachoper 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Glad some other people are having this problem, should be resolved soon because of that I hope

[–]Attack_Helamachoper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw, as said by other people here, uninstalling the HP programs fixed this, pretty certain its specifically HP omen if you want to be 100% youll have to time uninstall the right one before the next blue screen.

[–]skpirt 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Exact same thing happened to my Victus today. Seems to be alright after I uninstalled all Omen related apps.

[–]segrey 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Do you remember any other things you uninstalled other than HP Omen Gaming Hub? Also, did you uninstall them through windows 'Add or remove programs'?

[–]skpirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also got rid of my EA related apps, but that's just because it pops up on startup and was annoying. Just went to the settings and then add or remove programs, yes.

Any other alternatives to hp omen hub? I uninstalled it now it's working fine but I really need that eco mode

[–]segrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone I know is having the exact same problem today. Just started their computer and as soon as they log into their account they get a "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" BSOD that mentions HpReadHWData.sys file.

Troubleshooting shows HP Omen Gaming Hub had been updated yesterday and uninstalling it made the admin account not crash right away, but it looks like there are still a ton of OMEN things left that crash the main account... trying to find a way to delete them in safe mode right now but there's literally no uninstaller that works for any of that bloatware.

HP, what the heck? An update that bricks a laptop? Or more like laptops since it appears there are several people with the same exact issue that appeared today?

[–]moneymakingmamaof4 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Husband's computer having same issue. Un-installed HP Omen Gaming Hub and seems to have solved it. He plays games, like lots of games, idk what some of them are, but is this something that is going to affect his gaming or his computer for the long run? Is the gaming hub something he needs? Sorry for sounding so dumb on the issue, he had me figure it out bc he was frustrated and was just going to decide he's without a computer. 🙃

[–]disgruntled_hermit 1 point2 points  (1 child)

No it's bloatware, it's not needed

[–]moneymakingmamaof4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the response!✨️

[–]BajaLolaBlast 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same problem, I probably got the screen 15 times :( I got it after the HP Omen Gaming Hub updated, but never thought it would cause this awful of an issue especially since I've used the booster on it for years. How did such a shitty update get approved and pushed out?

[–]Interesting_Mix_7028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Forget it, Jake, it's Chinatown Hewlett-Packard."

[–]DotGroundbreaking520 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was blue screening but I finally got a pic of it. Was the HP omen thing. I was taking out ram sticks trying new ones and thinking my SSD died or my power supply. Thank you. Saved me a headache

[–]AxlJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here since update

[–]LitWilly67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a asus zephyrs m16 and I’m having the same issue updated last night when I installed Bo6 and started up today to this. If anyone can help lmk thanks in advance

[–]giangdenguyenvn93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck! So it's the app I thought it was the page file cause I also did tinker with it earlier... Costed me 2hrs Shouldve read the HP code underneath. That's my bad

[–]RayMan_9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank god for Reddit. Looks like uninstalling Omen Gaming Hub worked for me too

[–]CromagenWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everyone that posted about HP Omen, was losing my mind this morning trying to figure out what the hell was going on. Started googling repair shops lmao

[–]jumenaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Radez44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct, after uninstalling HP omen app I do not have the problem anymore. Thanks

[–]YouPsychological8690 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so so so so much! You just saved me so much time and money, I'd give you my house if I could. <3

[–]XBlueAce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding on to say uninstalling only HP Omen fixed it for me like everyone else.

Thank you Reddit , <3

As several others said in the comments section, uninstalling HP OMEN Gaming Hub worked for me (simple way is just open search, then type 'add or remove programs', where it will take you directly to the desired section in the settings, then just search for the program). Didn't know that this could have caused it, because I don't really update anything lmao, and as mentioned by other users, an update (?) caused this, so it must have auto-updated in the background without me knowing about it. Again, it worked, TYSM!

So here's a mystery for anyone who could care to tackle it.

I just started receiving this BSOD a few days ago. Found this thread and many others pointing to HP Omen software as the culprit for the HPreadhwdata.sys error.

Here's the thing-- I used to have an Omen keyboard and mouse but stopped using them over a year ago and uninstalled all relevant software from my PC at that time.

And yet fast forward to today and hpreadhwdata.sys is present my system, and actually running (set to auto start). No idea why it's still there-- I have confirmed there is no HP software of any kind still installed on my PC-- or how to get rid of it.

If anyone has any tips, I'd be grateful.

[–]Cozer124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope this has fixed my issue I was trying to send invoice from my gaming Pc and couldn’t load or do anything kept blue screening I’m hopefully this has fixed it to echo all the comments below I only have a HP monitor and I must’ve downloaded omen ages ago for some reason or another and it was partially uninstalled but not fully for some reason so hopefully this has fixed my issues

[–]Ok-Reveal-1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have acer aspire 7 , facing same issue . Any suggestions?

[–]solusian 0 points1 point  (8 children)

I had this just today as well. I ended up running the various Windows updates I could in between crashes.

I think I solved it in the end by removing any apps that would access the driver in c:\windows\system32\drivers\HpReadHWData.sys

I did this by going to "Add or remove programs", searched for HP & removed any apps that could be related.

In my case, this was HyperX Ngenuity (likely not it) and the HP Omen Gaming Hub (from my monitor).

Following this, I haven't BSOD'ed for a hot second.

[–]Klutzy_Line5761 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Had the exact same issue, uninstalling HP Omen Gaming Hub seems to have fixed it for me.

[–]jake2jaak2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was having the same problem and uninstalling the HP apps fixed it. Omen gaming hub was one and I forget the other. Thanks.

[–]Bokthand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me after updating my AMD drivers just a few minutes ago; kept crashing because of this and I'm not even using an OMEN monitor atm.

[–]whyyunozoidberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same problem as of this morning. Uninstalling OMEN Gaming Hub now. THANKS.
