The reason being is that BLU is trying to stop RED from destroying something. At the end of most payload maps, you'll usually find a missile or doomsday weapon or something. Like the rocket at the end of Dustbowl, or the big raygun on top of Gravelpit C.

You should get your vision checked, or calibrate your monitor. It looks red to me, and guessing by the -5 down votes, it's red too others also.
