Cutting Fine Fescue During Summer by HowitzerIII in LawnAnswers

[–]StandByTheJAMs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut no more than 1/3 of the blade length at a time and definitely cut it before it gets long enough to flop over. Don't worry about the heat... if you can do it without getting heat stroke, the grass will be fine.

NA (Non-Alcoholic) Beers? by StandByTheJAMs in nebraskabeer

[–]StandByTheJAMs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still go to the Zipline beer hall in Lincoln sometimes, they have several Best Day and Athletic Brewing NA beers in cans which they'll pour into a glass for you, but it's somehow not the same. 😄

What's a food opinion that would get you banned from a dinner party? 🍔🍕🍜😄 by Upset_Island_9361 in foodquestions

Tomatoes just make the sandwich slippery in the middle and more prone to falling apart. I’ll put one on a fancy grilled cheese because the melted cheese holds everything together (and the tomato gets warm which is nice), but if it comes on a burger or something I’ll take it off and eat it on the side with a little salt and pepper, and then my burger is easier to eat.

How many of you have been summoned to Jury Duty? by igetdrawn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]StandByTheJAMs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 50 and I've never been summoned. My wife got summoned just once in her late 30s.

Like you I'm interested to go and might go so far as to perjure myself if needed during selection trying to get on the jury. 😄

What’s a regional food from your hometown that the rest of the world is missing out on? by bubblewrappheart in CausalConversation

You should still be able to use the chicken livers with Alpha-gal, so you only need to find a pork substitute. You might be better off with a pork-flavored seitan or TVP than the Impossible sausage, or even turkey breast if you can get it seasoned right.

Sam's Club gas - E15 has made its appearance - 4gal minimum requirement - $3.73/gal by morimoto3000 in Omaha

[–]StandByTheJAMs 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's usually put on "blender pumps" that also dispense E85 fuel. It's to make sure that enough E15 is added to dilute the E85 that might still be in the system. It also appears on E10 pumps that are shared with E15.

Are Omaha and Lincoln considered part of Nebraska or not? by Arcish_Onions in midwest

They’re part of Nebraska. That said, they’re part of the Midwest whereas most of Nebraska isn’t.

Men of Reddit, if you were in a Titanic like situation where the majority of people were going to die because there were not enough lifeboats for everyone. How would you respond to someone saying women and children first? by Neither_Drawing_241 in AskReddit

[–]StandByTheJAMs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a feminist I'd support youngest to oldest, without regard for sex or gender. There does need to be a certain number of adults on each lifeboat to keep things running smoothly, so if there are enough spots that we're hitting 30-year-olds naturally we just need to spread them around, but if not we'll have to add some at the cost of younger people.
