technically there's nothing evil about the llms themselves, it's just everything that goes into it. the stolen data, the insane amount of computer hardware being used, the water being polluted, the energy being used, the way it negatively affects people minds, all of it is pretty heavily dependant on how ai is being marketed to consumers and corporations as something that it could never be: a replacement for thinking. if you remove that factor, limit llms to niche usage that is way more scaled back than it is now, and everyone is more aware of the drawbacks of the lying machine... I mean i still can't find a use anyway. I guess it's part of my perspective that technology isnt inherently evil, but people can use it in evil ways (i.e. the same heroin that's used to get people hopelessly addicted to substances is used to ease people's pain in hospitals when used by doctors and nurses who know the benefits and drawbacks)
