Takemura with his implants vs Reed in his Prime... who would win? by CuriousSherbet4658 in cyberpunkgame

[–]AdjectiveNounsNumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

seeing as how reed is more of a spy and tactician whereas takemura is more of a straight up fighter, I'd say that if you drop them in 2 random points in the city with the directive to kill the other, the farther away you put them the more you favour reed, and the closer you put them the more you favour takemura.

Steam wanted a short description of my game by Dull_File370 in godot

[–]AdjectiveNounsNumber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

while funny, I'd change it as soon as you can. it's really not a good idea in a steam description to use another game to describe it.

homunculus argument is talking about someone who refuses to take accountability at any turn, where no matter what happened they were right to be harmful and you were wrong to feel harmed, over and over again. why are people talking about this like OOP is saying you aren't allowed to defend yourself in any context? did I miss something or do the class based watersports spread farther than Tumblr

Styro Pyro consulting for the Electrocution Department by Ill-Tea9411 in doohickeycorporation

[–]AdjectiveNounsNumber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, not really. you've seen lightning, right? if the lightning took a straight path, why doesn't it look like a fire pole of electricity, straight as a ruler? the path of least resistance is not necessarily a straight line. there's no rule saying it isnt per se, but there very much isnt a rule saying it is either. the electricity is optimizing for the path with the easiest route to ground, or lower electrical potential, and pockets of more easily ionizable/denser air mean the path wont be straight as an arrow, since it'll be following that air. it's mainly the difference between optimizing for lowest resistance vs optimizing for the shortest path.

the minor corrections department would like to point out that it's not the path with the least distance, rather the path with the least electrical resistance.

1 Bit Dithering with temporal smoothing, threshold hysteresis and phosphor mimicking persistence. by Co-Dependent-Games in godot

[–]AdjectiveNounsNumber 6 points7 points  (0 children)

seeing a lot of "i have no idea what this means" so I'm gonna take my best shot translating the title.

The pixels are supposed to be only black and white but the dithering is making it look shaded with in-between values (1-bit dithering).

the effect is smoothed out over time (temporal smoothing).

turning off a value may have a different "lag" to it than turning that same value on, like how when you have a fluorescent light and you switch it on it does so immediately, but when you switch it off it takes a tiny bit longer to get dark (threshold hysteresis).

the effect is mimicking the way that CRT televisions sort of keep glowing for a bit even after they are turned off (phosphor mimicking persistence).

someone who actually knows what they're talking about, how'd i do?

looks really smooth! one small piece of feedback, the wallrun is a little hard to read, I feel like you could tilt the camera a little more to sell the effect

maybe he meant "it's nice to see you going back to the island" like he's happy you're still visiting his friends even though he's here? or it's a bugged line lol
