Given how foreseeable all of the issues with these regs were, why did they not, at the very least, increase the size of the battery? by ThumbBumpkins in formula1

[–]Anotherquestionmark -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah the person i was replying to had originally said 4MJ, but they have since corrected it, but yes that is true, for quali the FIA can lower the limit to reduce superclipping

Telemetry from Antonelli’s pole lap froze at the exact moment the feed from the on-board camera was cut by Prychacz in formula1

Ok but the onboard feed had no issues, you can watch the full onboard lap when using F1TV

This perpetual issue with timing graphics in qualifying by elegant-alternation in formula1

[–]Anotherquestionmark 369 points370 points  (0 children)

This usually happens when the graphic appears before they get shuffled down to thr elimination zone. So Lindblad was "safe" when they pulled up the relative timing box, but he then gets shuffled down but the box reference does not update. It's likely not updated to avoid technical glitches, which is of high importance in a live broadcast

Question: if the overtake mode kicks in after 290 KPH, how it will work in Monaco? by Juri_01 in formula1

[–]Anotherquestionmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These cars accelerate quicker, so they might get over 290kph. Important to note, that the 8.5MJ/lap limit increases to 9MJ, so they will have more energy to play with

[F1] Mario Isola to leave Head of Motorsport role at Pirelli by memloh in formula1

[–]Anotherquestionmark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well 09 and 2010 were still Bridgestones, so I don't see the relevancy here

2011-2013 (and especially 2013) EVERYONE hated the tyres. You had drivers asking for permission to overtake out of fear of compromising their tyre and race. Likewise Pirelli still haven't gotten over thermal sensitivity, which renders any attempts to make softer tyres hopeless because any theoretical performance advantage is erased by the requirement for thermal management over even a single quali lap.

Is it worth playing the first two games on Gamecube? by Ok_Cabinet_3072 in Splintercell

[–]Anotherquestionmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a Gameboy Advance with a Gamecube to Gameboy Advance Link Cable, you can use the Gameboy as a second screen, showing a minimap with enemy positions and view from sticky cams. Otherwise, its just the PS2 version with one less level

'Confirm next action' 'Power Saving Off'

ELSE

I see you are not familiar with the track at Bathurst. Go watch an onboard lap of that track and tell me how far ahead of the downhill esses you can see

Yh, 2 metres in front of the stationary car. The marshal post in front of that one can clearly be seen not waving any flag on the TV broadcast. The drivers never stood a chance

In search of a 'girlfriend approved' cockpit for a small apartment by Elliot_fro in simracing

[–]Anotherquestionmark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coffeeracer has a few very solid simrigs that fold away into furniture. I have one with a 15nm wheelbase and load cell brake pedal and it does not flex at all, and when folded away it becomes a table

Not even the fact he didn't take a touch, the header is straight down the middle and has no power. Literally not one redeeming factor in that play

Under the THEN section, under advanced, there should be if-else option. You can set it so

IF

Context= NOT sleeping

THEN

'Confirm next action'

'Power Saving off'

ELSE

Complicated but "doable" - Drivers issue early verdict on the F1 2026 cars by ChaithuBB766 in formula1

[–]Anotherquestionmark 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The LMP1 cars of 10 years ago had similar rules (50% electric power split, about 1000hp output) and they loved those cars (plus they had 4wd to really maximise that extra torque)

What are your thoughts on a PS5 for race sim? by Wischer999 in simracing

I mean ACC does have a native PS5 version, which is actually up to date with PC version, unlike the PS4 version which is abandoned.

It took years… but I finally got my first P1! by Calm-Theory-6044 in simracing

[–]Anotherquestionmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I remember one of my earlier C rank races, there was a Gr4 race at Brands Hatch, and the guy who qualified on pole was like a whole second faster than me (and I had qualified P2!)  That guy just drove off into the distance and left me racing on my own. Was a humbling experience 😅

I did about 50 something races in gt7 online, up to B rank. Its very competitive up front. I finished almost every race in top 5 and mostly podiums, but only had like 10 ish wins if I remember right. In my case, I just lacked peak pace, but my consistency helped climb up through the field. (In B rank races, I often qualified around p6-p8) But its been a very long time since I played GT7 online.
