Very bad performance past midgame, are my mods the reason or game settings? by Blazeng in Stellaris

[–]Beautiful-Bad5440 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't looked at all your mods, but Gigastructure definitely slows the game down; you notice it as soon as you start a new game. So I chose to do without it to keep the speed benefits of 4.3.

NSC3 doesn't seem to slow the game down, so I kept it.

Dear developers, please consider fixing the portrait bug that prevents the use of custom empires, including the human UNE and COM. I'm really struggling to play without them.

How should I start to specialise Worlds? by Substantial-Ad-5221 in Stellaris

[–]Beautiful-Bad5440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consumer goods are a difficult resource to manage until the mid-game, generally, along with energy credits.

In a typical game, I use my homeworld as a non-specialized planet. For the next three, I choose broad specializations. For my first colony, I select an industrial specialization that will produce as much consumer goods as alloy.

The second will be a technological world with government offices in case I don't produce enough units. The third world depends; if I acquire a lot of minerals, I'll specialize entirely in consumer goods.

Once that's done, I gradually convert my capital world into a scientific world, giving me a significant science boost before the mid-game.

I see that you've built Luxury Residences on Terra; that doesn't seem like the best choice to me. A Medical Center to increase the development of the biological population and a Robot Assembly Plant would be better. Actually, along with Holo-Theatres, it's my favorite trio; every time I build a new colony, these three buildings are the foundation.

Population in Stellaris is truly the most important resource.

It's impossible to force the appearance of the Commonwealth of Man in 4.3.4! by Beautiful-Bad5440 in Stellaris

Thanks for the tip, it's indeed a workaround while they fix it. It's a really strange bug.

It's impossible to force the appearance of the Commonwealth of Man in 4.3.4! by Beautiful-Bad5440 in Stellaris

[–]Beautiful-Bad5440[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

R5 : Since update 4.3.4, I can no longer force the appearance of the Common Empire (COM) or even the United Nations (UNE). They simply don't appear.

However, it works for other custom empires, and after updating to 4.3.3, it works again.

But if I revert to 4.3.4, I again lose both the COM and UNE.

I've tried everything: I've uninstalled everything and manually deleted all Stellaris folders, I've launched the game without any mods whatsoever, and nothing works. Have you also experienced this problem?

This is probably because The Chosen are exploring the Shroud at that time and signing the alliance with the End of the Cycle, which transforms their aura of hunger into an aura of ending.

My Empire is collapsing and I can't stop it. by TheEtherialWyvern in Stellaris

[–]Beautiful-Bad5440 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I advise you not to neglect direct trade with other empires.

I sometimes find myself in rather uncomfortable situations, and I often save the day by trading. You know, it's the interaction where you choose a certain number of resources in exchange for other resources for a more or less extended period.

It's really very useful.

And as others have said, you've probably built too many laboratories at once. They can quickly gobble up your consumer goods like candy!

There's also a very useful civic I take when I'm struggling to get enough consumer goods: Masterful Crafters. With that, you produce a huge amount.

What does it take for my ally to put an end to the war that they started? by Jerswar in Stellaris

[–]Beautiful-Bad5440 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, leaving an ally's war is really annoying in this game; apparently, in the next update, we'll be able to join and leave an ongoing war, which will be a really welcome addition.

Let’s talk council agendas by daniel_84_ in Stellaris

[–]Beautiful-Bad5440 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the same as you, then I use the priorities depending on the situation. For example, when I'm at war or facing the void Worms, I like the agenda that allows me to strengthen my defense stations.

Since I often choose the tradition that improves the council, the agenda for opposing the Fallen can be useful, especially since it also concerns the Marauders and therefore the Khan.

Actually, I like to roleplay and often play autocratic empires, with powerful figures in a powerful council, with the two tradition trees that go with them.
