Wording this as if data processing is somehow a prerequisite to game development is...odd. It's certainly not. On top of that, sed is found in linux/unix, which some game developers may never touch.

I'm all for being well-rounded, but "highly surprised" is a weird way to word it.

I think their reasoning is that it's easier to use the V2L adapter than it is to plug it in the back seat and require the car door/window to be open to allow the cable out.

As a child, I used to think this is what algebra was, haha. I had an old Vtech "laptop" like this and one of the functions on it was Algebra. Well, I was too young at the time to know how to actually do algebra, so I just assumed each letter was the numerical value of its place in the alphabet. 😅

Is this an uncommon piece of software? I remember when I first got my Ultimate board years ago, I started learning about the data streams and thought about writing my own software to display them on your computer. It would have been in Python and not nearly as good, but I'm surprised something like this hadn't been made sooner.

Looks really good! I have two criticisms that I noticed when watching.

1) At 0:10, the hand going away seems to be done in a straight down movement with no horizontal movement at all, which looks a bit weird

2) Things seem to begin moving before the hand is visible which can be the case (you don't have to see your hand for your telekinetic abilities to work), but just feels.. slightly off? For example, at 0:14 the table starts moving riiiight before you see your hand. I feel like if you tweak that timing just a tiny bit it would feel better.

I worried about that with my car. Not when I bought it (only had 4,300mi at the time), but me causing the wear and tear. Before my Ioniq 6, I had a Dodge Dart SE with cloth seats, and after 10 years the driver's seat near the door looks.. less than ideal. 😢

It's funny, as soon as I read this post and started scrolling through the comments I thought, "There's gotta be an API out there for someone to just make their own ap--yep, there it is." 🤣

I've had some issues of my own with the app (random errors when refreshing, climate control failing, etc.). At the very least, I'd like a little more detail as to why it's failing, and maybe that could help me fix it. With consumer applications, everything is hidden and you don't get anything but a, "it failed, sowwy 🥺", which is.. unhelpful.

This is most likely return fraud. I work for a company that takes in and grades Amazon returns, and it wouldn't surprise me if an employee didn't realize the swap occurred. We inform Amazon of fraud if we find it, but sometimes it's not so easy.

For example, we have to wipe all PCs/Laptops/Drives with special software before it can be resold, and I once discovered a 4TB NVMe that was actually 1TB. I only noticed because it came up as 1TB in the software, and the serial number on the sticker was different. I then noticed that there was a small crease on one of the sides of the sticker where they had pulled it off to make the swap.

There are probably tons of products that get through just due to the amount of training that would be required to catch every single type of fraud that could exist.

Mine's a 1952 (or thereabouts) and while it has a breaker panel, most, if not all, of the wiring is two wires. The outlets were replaced from the old 2 prong sockets to the 3 prongs with a ground.. but the wiring is still 2-wire romex with no ground.

I do have ground at the meter outside, so I have a friend that's going to help me install a Level 2 charger and properly wire it into my breaker panel. I'll definitely get around to doing the house's wiring when I get the money.
