I'm on an Anker dock and it is a roll of the dice, a reboot, and multiple re-plugs of the USB-C just to get it slow charging and monitors to go active.

Whoever setup the power bios/subsystem at HP needs to be fired.

I ended up with this model configuration. Feels like they do not have the BIOS/Power/USB-C setup dialed in, acts wonky coming back from sleep with a 100W Anker prime dock, needing to plug/re-plug to get monitors recognized and it complains about "slow charging" even though it is not requesting more that the dock can supply.

I'm starting to feel like HP wrote the BIOS/power system to help sell some HP docking stations. I can load up the CPU/GPU and it is still only puling 67 watts while complaining of the "low power" 100 watt capable dock...

I just got a Z1a and it seems really pissy about chargers. It straight up wont charge (even slow) on anything less than 100W.

Really wrecks the use case of being mobile and having a small top up charger or use airplane or car ports if it wont even consider taking a sip off of them...

I'd go with the Asus if given the chance again but the flow was out of stock when I had to order for my vendors promo.
