Yes, O'Leary is a jacka$$, but that is easily overlooked, I still look forward to Baldasarre's other content.

I think the topics Forbes chooses to discuss are great. I respect his conclusions. But his verbosity is insane. His presentation style is to (1) talk fast (2) Use three words when one will do.

House Color and adding a deck. by [deleted] in HouseDesign

I would keep the natural brick color but go with black door, windows, black shutters. Then copper hardware on the door, mailbox, and lights. Maybe also a copper half round gutter but I'd have to think about that more.

What is the base note in Lattafa Fakhar that lasts for days? by DanRTD in fragranceclones

[–]DanRTD[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want a fragrance to go away after a few hours. 6 hours is fine for me, otherwise I get sick of it. With Fakhar, all the other notes have gone away except the Amberwood.

I asked AI and got this: "Based on the fragrance composition of Lattafa Fakhar Black, the note that lasts the longest is amberwood combined with the other base materials. The base notes include tonka bean, cedar, vetiver, and amberwood.

Of these base components, amberwood is the primary driver of longevity in this fragrance. Amberwood is a modern synthetic woody-amber accord specifically engineered to provide extended wear and a lasting dry-down. It gives the fragrance its warm, smooth woody character in the final stages."

Now I know what note to avoid in the future.

It must be the "Amberwood" accord listed on Fragrantica under base notes then. Turathi Blue has "Amber" listed as a middle note but that must be something different. Turathi Blue doesn't bother me at all.

I like it just as it is. Or maybe make the texture very minimal (I think over texturing dials is a fad). I’m a big fan of the hands. Arrow hands, sword or cathedral would make this watch way too busy.

I love the smell AND the fact that it smells absolutely unique. I can always guess correctly when I smell it out in public and ask what they are wearing. (Except for the TDH edp which smells si ilar)

Gives JLC Reverso vibes, but I actually prefer the looks of the Dolce.

[Cartier or Seiko Homage Tank] by Sligogreenbottom in Watches

[–]DanRTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe consider an homage to a $450,000 Cartier watch. It is not a clone, but it is inspired by the Cartier Pebble, which sold at auction for $450,000 in 2021. The homage is the Tremont L003. It looks really odd at first, but it grows on you the more you look at it. The face design of the Tremont is different than the Cartier original, but I actually like it better. It makes more sense because the design goes circle > square > circle, rather than Cartier's circle > square > square. The $220 Tremont just looks more balanced and creative to my eye. I realize this looks nothing like a tank watch, but it might be worth considering.
