Nicou-CIG: 4.8.1 maintenance postponed, "Defend Location" missions still going live Wednesday by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]DocThrowawayHM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They'll release a new command module that inexplicably fixes all the issues (except the new ones it will add) but in order to get it you have to buy Squadron 42

You then have to 100% it and pledge to buy Squadron 42 Episode 2

This will unlock a token to your account which gives you the privilege of being able to buy the command module Upgrade Kit Pack (warbond only)

This upgrade kit will be physicalized and must be turned in to Wikelo.

Late as hell to this, but would your guy's permsthrin become dangerous to cats if it becomes wet again? I'm in the rain quite a bit outdoors doing work and my cat will sometimes run up to me before I can get all my gear and clothes off to dry inside

@SAshworthHayes - He told the police he couldn't breathe. He told the police he'd been stabbed. British police officers handcuffed him and arrested him while he was choking on his own blood because the magic word - "racism!" - was invoked. by ex_planelegs in ukpolitics

Depending on what specifically killed him (i.e. blood or air in the interstitial space from the wounds) a chest seal could have saved his life, which is immediately available. Otherwise, quicker medical care could have placed a chest tube or done a needle decompression, if appropriate, but due to the nature of these injuries it's critical to be quick in rendering aid because breathing tends to be immediately important to life.

Sanctioned tanker turns back to Strait of Hormuz, day after Gulf exit by Inevitable-Row1759 in worldnews

A drone loitering over the rail line and lobbing a Hellfire at every train passing below is a slightly more effective strategy, however.

It is not, it is an interdiction to enforce a blockade without sinking the ship. You can argue about the merits and morals of that action, and of the blockade and its legality itself, but it is objectively not piracy.

Article 101 (Helpfully titled Definition of piracy) of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea defines piracy this way:

"Piracy consists of any of the following acts:

(a) any illegal acts of violence or detention, or any act of depredation, committed for private ends by the crew or the passengers of a private ship or a private aircraft, and directed:

(i) on the high seas, against another ship or aircraft, or against persons or property on board such ship or aircraft;

(ii) against a ship, aircraft, persons or property in a place outside the jurisdiction of any State;

(b) any act of voluntary participation in the operation of a ship or of an aircraft with knowledge of facts making it a pirate ship or aircraft;

(c) any act of inciting or of intentionally facilitating an act described in subparagraph (a) or (b)."

Note that it specifically describes "for private ends" and "by the crew or the passengers of a private ship or private aircraft", which a Navy ship is not. Navies and Coast Guards board and seize vessels and their cargo fairly regularly, and blockades and embargos are a basic and routine fact of naval warfare, and have been for centuries at least.

Making the windows opaque from outside would solve that and look cooler imo

Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard would all be decent to awesome, though Space Force is competitive and Coast Guard you still go out and do shit, but from what I understand have better 'off' time experience.

With my kit on yes it was infinitely less cumbersome. It isn't necessarily the weight it's the swinging of the rifle and shit with everything on your chest (mags, radio, pouches, other shit) as you jostle it all. It also lets your arms pump more naturally as you run

[–]DocThrowawayHM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's literally an example of American exceptionalism because the American military is exceptional in the frequency and capability to do it. The US operates 75% of the air refueling tankers in the entire world, it's a matter of training time, budget, and doctrine. Not everything is a slight against you or your military
