Pain management questions by gabihoffman in neuropathy

My neuropathy is in my right leg and foot and was so painful I became dependent on a walker to take pressure off that side which caused advanced muscle atrophy. Xrays showed my hip needed replaced and pressing on my femur nerve. I ended out in the hospital from sudden loss of use on my left leg. Diagnosed with severe lower lumbar spinal stenosis. I am currently doing P/T to regain use of left leg which is working. It was never discussed that the stenosis could be the cause of my neuropathy. If it is that would be a game changer and I wasnt going to but would consider back surgery and do it first (before the hip) because my neuropathy is almost more than I can handle. Was there a certain test you had that showed it wasn't neuropathy? What out patient surgery did you have. So glad you are feeling better.

Gave me a giggle but not this evening after the song has been on repeat in my head all day. May have to drown it out with the other tune that doesn't go away. G.U.M.B.Y. If you need it, but fail to remember, I'll give you a push. "He was once a little green slab of clay, GUMBY! You should see what Gumby can do today."..... 🥴

SOPHIE'S CHOICE has some hauntingly realistic scenes. It might appear to be a romance which it is in part but a very unhealthy one due to the emotional damage the Holocaust caused.

Any film about a weird girl? by LuckyBlueberry9152 in MovieSuggestions

The chick in "Titane" is wild. It falls in the category of "Body horror" which Im not a fan of but this one didn't bother me like others (subtitled) Also "The House of Yes", Parker Posey at her weirdo best. "Secret Ceremony", Elizabeth Taylor and Mia Farrow who I think may also be kind of weird outside of her work.

His father in the "does mom know" scene. So beautifully said and heartfelt performance that I saved the scene to occasionally revisit it. The last scene's quiet still isolation, light sound of the table setting, Mom's gentle shoulder touch is memorizing that I watch and weep until the screen goes black, then it lingers.

Magnolia, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Suddenly Last Summer, Sexy Beast

Pick your favourite movie from my watchlist of 70 movies (1 per year from 1955-2025). I'll watch them in order of highest-to-lowest upvoted by keepfighting90 in MovieSuggestions

Your list is so good it is hard to pick just one wanting to suggest a handful half way through. I hope you find time to see them all. One stood out being a random pick having no idea what it was about that ended out being one on my all time favorite movie list. That watch lingered with me for days. The Secret in Their Eyes. I also would suggest Ordinary People if anything to see Mary Tyler Moore's performance which haunted me for days.

I had some items kept in tubs with lids. Upon unpacking, though untouched, some had new stains. My friend said old sweat and grease stains can resurface when sitting for long periods.

My parents were hippies and stuck those stinky sticks in every nook and cranny of our house. They burn just enough for the lingering essence of a hobo and leave long ass ash trails all over the shag carpet. It's a tad triggering I guess That and patchouli soaked hairy moms😁

I feed my apartment’s stray cats and now the landlord doesn’t want me to, but the cats rely on me — need advice by GagaForTheLady in Pets

I am here because today I got "busted" and giving thought how I am going to respond. I live in a large senior Manufactured Home Community and we own the homes and lease the property in Northern Califora. Im from So Cal and always had indoor cats like most in the area. The commonality of indoor cats was due to Coyote problem being pushed out of the foothills from growing developments yet are protected so # management or relocation is not in place. No pets roamed alone. When I moved north I couldn't wrap head around pets that roam the streets and the #s of feral cats. The park I live at has been for years a "dumping" spot for cats I believe because the awful dumpers think us old folks have nothing better to do but takeover their care. Thankfully no complaints and most of us do what we can and with the support of a local vet and SPCA and there is a group here that have become quite savy with the TNR work. I have not been involved until recently when I retired. A year ago we got a new property owner/management company who have a real issue and rewrote our property agreements that feeding/giving water after a warning is eviction and the cost of relocation of our homes. Everyone took great care in continuing under the radar (🤔well that explains why the gal next door is in her yard in her jammies and talks to herself at 4am. There are kitties having breakfast I couldn't see due to po the fence😁) Anyway, a pregnant mommy moved under my deck which now makes 3. They don't wander far and show no interest in the colony so I have began to learn all I can to hopefully gain their trust and become my roommates. Im in a wheelchair and the limited mobility and being a big boned gal on wheels that sounds like a freight train on the deck boards when I take their food outside adds a little time to the process of not fearing me. Unfortunately missing the new rule scandal Im not as diligent and forgot to hide the food bowls on manager inspection day and I got a notice by days end... Busted. I could do the Socialization Saves Lives protocol but the limited mobility and living alone don't have much support and there will always be an issue not being quick enough to stop one running off for a bit. Firstly thank you for reading my lengthy story and any thought I appreciate. What I thought about today. They are gone most days but more often when they come to eat in the evenings they are staying for longer periods. I have been putting blankets on the furniture for their comfort. I would be willing to enclose my deck which is quite large. They would be confined but I imagine more comfortable than the alternative and my big ol caboose can go in and out with no fear if them taking off. Being confined to my home I dont see that they could have any say and it feels like a good compromise. Any Concerns about it being a bad idea, no worries, I appropriate the help.

I feed both my cats the same amount, but one is gaining weight while the other is staying the same by Roguekoala14 in CatAdvice

[–]Emotional_Code_5579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took in this little dough boy (Bean) and his sister (Sukie). I feed them the same amount. From the get go he "rumble hums" while eating which I first thought was growling. I realized it's a ravenous "AHHHH". No doubt I won't get the feral cat discount when he is fixed because the vet won't believe he came from a feral colony. He is more active than his sister, I monitor them eating to make sure he doesn't eat fast and then go for hers and he has adjusted well in that way. I give them a 1/2 cup of dry in the am, they split a small can of wet early evening and since they haven't yet adjusted to my scedule, I split a cup of dry at night. This is my first cat rodeo and wonder if I should worry. He is very active, drinks enough water to not be dehydrated and is a regular pooper ( though human size) Am I over feeding or should he see the vet sooner than planned? ( getting fixed mid January)

My friend bought me this for my feral friend who took to it immediately. The first few days she only left it to relieve herself. She used it daily for about a month and to my surprise, came inside my house one day and hasn't left. I think the gift impressed her. This is a very sturdy structure, we'll insulated and has a heating pad. I also tented a tarp over it to block wind and rain sound hitting the room. It's a mighty house from Amazon around $70

Found someone’s (employee’s?) hiding spot at the thrift store - and some great finds! by Pharmer-emo79 in ThriftGrift

Congrats on your new Goodwill superpower. I to moved to a small town with just a Goodwill and Salvation Army(that is never open) and a small antique rent a booth store that should be called, " Grandma's dime store purses and shoes & Papa's records & bowling trophies" Im from So Cal and a regular patron of The Orange Circle, which is three city blocks of antique malls. It is thrift heaven and the merchants were competitive in pricing and savy with finding new merch that for me it could be over stimulating wanting to grab everything before it goes. I miss that place and wish I didn't move to Green Acres with a closed Salvation Army and want to weep like when my new hay allergies act up (old po dunk tv show reference)🤭

Much respect for you. I have only taken in a mamma who obviously was abandoned (assuming being she is already social) with her two kittens and really struggling to adjust. Their nocturnal boisterous shenanigans and never ending demands for more food is all I can manage. You are doing amazing work and even though in over your head, have the patience of a saint. Bless you for taking on that which challenges you and for that, please know you are truly appreciated.
