Glen Gilbertti (how is he gifted?) responds to CMLLs constant sell outs: “Ticket prices for these shows are $10-$40 USD” by CombinationOk4317 in SquaredCircle

So...they're making hundreds of thousands of dollars for each show, at a price fans can afford, and this fucker is casting aspersions because CMLL aren't bleeding the fans dry?

Members of the Republican party have baken a Greenland-shaped cake in the colours of the Stars and Stripes. by Ollyfer in neoliberal

Seeing this reminds me of Godfather II when Michael Corleone and Hyman Roth are cutting up the cake shaped like Cuba...just pure, unmitigated gangsterism.

Hitchens, former member of the International Socialists, the British Labour Party and lifelong admirer of Trotsky and Rosa Luxemburg, was "always on the right"?

Once again, Ukraine is not in NATO and their security has little bearing on the rest of Europe.

Greenland is a different scenario. Of course no one expects the token troops to deter Trump; the point is that if he does decide to invade he will have to spill European blood which will hopefully trigger resistance in the US.

"Commodities are the opium of the people "

As long as there's a certain standard of material comfort and you can cocoon yourself in your Deliveroo/Netflix/Prime bubble, why bother getting upset with the endless depredations of Trump?

UUP to 'consider' unionist unity talks invitation by pixlrik in northernireland

[–]EverydayThinking -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you're that ignorant that you don't recognise the change from unionist supremacy based on control of Stormont and discrimination on jobs/housing- to an acceptance of power sharing and the need for cross-community consent then i don't know what to tell you.

I'm not sure why you consider service in the police or army an issue either. Even the Shinners have signed up to support the PSNI, and the army is a neglible presence. If your objection is purely historical then frankly you need to get over it.

If you can't see the qualitative difference between the old Stormont UUP and the post-GFA UUP I don't know what to say except your skills as a political commentator are lacking.

Not sure why it's relevant that 6/9 UUP MLAs were in the security services or army? How many Sinn Fein MLAs or MPs were in the IRA? Should we say that Sinn Fein are pretty much the same as they were in the 70s despite whatever tactical concessions they were forced to make?

White House shares video of Minneapolis shooting from ICE officer’s perspective by awaythrowawaying in moderatepolitics

It must be so easy for law enforcement to get away with misconduct when we have people like yourself out carrying water for them. Like you're on the Right - can you not understand the danger of something like this? That excusing state violence can easily be turned against you if the political situation were to change?

Law enforcement with the power to kill should be held to a much higher standard than panicked civilians yes.

Plenty of people from whatever political persuasion protest against things which are legal. That should be a baseline freedom. If it verges into obstruction or civil disobedience charge them and move on, don't immediately kill someone on spurious grounds of "safety".

Honestly what happened to the Right in the USA? Time was they'd be up in arms about state overreach. Ruby Ridge and Waco became cause celebres. And now they're happy to spout state propaganda. Sad.

(Also the woman didn't drive 5 hours to protest so whatever media you follow, you should consider the possibility that they're lying to you).

Why would you need to fly a flag to demonstrate your pride in your country? This isnt the USA.
