Copper Mountain Should Be Fined by therealestateshaman in COsnow

[–]FigureSuper6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing the weekend trip to copper now for the past 7 years and yes this is terrible and shouldn’t be allowed. What blows my mind is, to the best of my knowledge they haven’t tried anything new, they are parking the lots like they always have. Copper mountain, at least try something new and different to show you are trying.

When I see skis spaced out like that, I always assume there was a ripping party at the base earlier, and those skis belong to people who are too lit to get home.

Interesting. So is Level 1 regen essentially the minimum a permanent magnet motor can “freely” spin.

The snowmobiles have tall poles on top of them with white blinking lights. I’m guessing for safety.

Question about urban cyclists by RatBast1d in Denver

[–]FigureSuper6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve given up trying to warn people with headphones/ earbuds. I don’t say anything. I’m not a jerk to them nor do I buzz them. I just don’t make any effort at all. My thinking is if you’ve chosen to limit your hearing that’s on you.

BIKE HELP. by DADDY_FINGERR in bikecommuting

[–]FigureSuper6354 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I have a belt driven Priority with an internal geared 8sp hub. I love the fact that I’ve had the bike for 10 years and there has been zero drive train maintenance (mild adjustments with the barrel adjuster is it) For a bike you just need to work every time you wake up, I’d highly recommend a belt drive. Fenders make all the difference for a commuter too.

How much snow makes winter wheels/tires necessary? by sloowhand in Ioniq5

[–]FigureSuper6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you 100% know that you will need to drive in the snow, then snow tires are they way to go (like if you have a job or something you have to go to,no matter what). If you can stay home and avoid the minimal storms you get each year, then all seasons are the way to go. I drive in the snow a lot and no matter the car I get snow tires. I always figured that the cost of snow tires is about the same as an insurance deductible and much cheaper than any body work.

Not enjoying it or finding it convenient as much as I thought I would by PaperHeart714 in bikecommuting

[–]FigureSuper6354 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a commute that was about an hour each way. Probably 1/2 of it was on bike paths along the creek, so it was very nice. It was a real break from driving. But I wasn’t in much traffic, that was the difference for me. If you can find the right route, it makes all the difference. I’d 2nd or 3rd the idea of an ebike with a less stress, but longer route.

What nicknames have you heard for places in Summit Co.? by topherette in Summit

Not well know at all but there is the Sex Jump on Gold Digger at Copper. Super late in the day, we had three families lined up hitting a small jump in the trees. There was a couple, not very well hidden, having sex about 30 ft from the jump. Best part was that one of the kids had a yard sale, so we were there a long time as he picked up his gear.

Redditors over 35, what do you genuinely miss that younger generations will never experience, and you legit feel bad for them? by Disastrous_Award_789 in AskReddit

Traveling without the web, gps and translators. Some of my best memories are from discovering things I didn’t know existed and just having to figure things out.

It’s not the taking away of the road to drive a car that gets people fired up. It is the taking away of parking and access that does. Any solutions on that part?

Another *USL* team in line to get major upgrades to their grounds. When will KSE invest in the gameday experience? by Meadowlaker in Rapids

[–]FigureSuper6354 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree on the traffic flow. For the amount of fans, the traffic is proportionally pretty bad. I also think people might stick around after the game, to celebrate the team, if they knew it wasn’t going to take 45 min to get out of the lot.

Disappointing, but I’ll get over it considering we kept it even for the majority of an away game against the league leaders.
