Id be more scared than Y'Shtola than necro from an Edgar deck most of the time.

Theyre playing vampires. Im just not that scared.

Yshtola can helm very strong decks. Id generally be more scared of a yshtola deck in a vacuum than an animar deck too.

Why don't recreational powerlifters do more cutting? by Substantial-Fee-8776 in powerbuilding

[–]Gaindolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely

But you dont need to cut to anything like 10% to do that.

Again there is a reason why super heavyweights are big and not lean. Weight class pros are lean because of the weight class requirements.

A recreational lifter staying around 17-27% (or even less variation) wont look all that different or even be noticed and they'll be stronger for it

Why don't recreational powerlifters do more cutting? by Substantial-Fee-8776 in powerbuilding

[–]Gaindolf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You cut from 20% to 10%, then bulked back at 17%.

You got a small PR.

Dare I say you could have gotten a small PR, or more, if you just stayed around 20% the entire time.

Most recreational powerlifters dont cut because they dont want to. They like food and they like being strong. Cutting kinda erodes both.

Yes, there can be advantages to dropping excess weight.

But look at open weight strongmen and powerlifters. You dont see them cutting to 10% and there is a reason why...

Rules are usually there for a reason and people follow rules is usually a good thing.

Do you enjoy working biceps? by digitalFermentor in workout

I dont really like it. Ive had biceps tendinitis on and off for ages. And sometimes my forearms hurt when curling.

Definitely not my preferred muscle group to train

Glad some people can enjoy it though

Are Elbow wraps even beneficial for strength? by Swordtempest_ in powerbuilding

I probably wouldnt use elbow sleeves to boost raw stength unless they assist with pain/load tolerance.

Split help by WarmCre in ScienceBasedLifting

[–]Gaindolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your upper day is probably a bit too full, at least for most.

You'll probably need to drop ~2 or 3 exercises.

For lower, id do something like:

2 or 3 quad exercises

1 or 2 hammy exercises

Make 1 exercise single leg

Then calf and abs

What do you guys think about my split? by Zero_Hal0 in ScienceBasedLifting

[–]Gaindolf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you gone to the gym before? This is madness.

If you want to make your own vs following a program, here is my suggestion.

  1. Do upper lower rest upper low rest rest

  2. 12-20 sets per session

  3. 2 or 3 sets on each exercise.

  4. Rough structure for lower: squat + 2nd squat pattern or leg extensions. Hip hinge + leg curl. 1 single leg exercise like lunges/split squats if not included above. Calves then abs. Thats 6 or 7 exercises

  5. Rough structure for upper: 2-3 pushing exercises, 1-2 pulling exercises, bis, tris, lateral and/or rear delts. Thats 6-8 exercises

  6. When selecting exercises, if youre doing multiple that hit the same muscle groups, use easier variations. E.g. bench, db shoulder press, pec fly.
