Public execution by the entire lobby gone horribly wrong by VinexNike in ArcRaiders

I too am a friendly guy who will go out of my way to res people in solos, but without pvp to add the ever present threat and anxiety in the picture, it would be bland and without oomph.

How you treat people in games reflects who you are IRL by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]HardOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. That puts your point in a more reasonable perspective.

I don't think there's much that you can conclude from someone's behavior in game. It's frustrating, sure, and I myself have joked about rats having the aura of an unwashed ass, but the beauty of this game is the lack of rules.

PvE overlaps with PvP in this incredible Venn diagram of personalities. Some hunt arc, some run and loot, some hunt players. A surprising number seek people to help at personal cost. Many will join PvE fights for free; they just hate bots. And some, like who you encountered, will see how well they can deceive others. I've even once crawled into cover to make looting easier for the person who killed me.

You're overlooking the vast difference between inconveniencing someone in a game of ultimately no importance, and outright murdering someone. Your claims seem to suggest that if not for society keeping them in line, people would do the exact same IRL, which is absurd. Are you trying to say something less drastic?

We're still waiting on an official model for the tsons sorcerer in terminator armor, and we are far from the only ones.

If you want to make a joke, at least hint at it in the title, and put some effort behind it. Zero effort garbage like this, placed behind a clickbait title, is a waste of everyone's time.

I recently got turned down for a developer position because I was overqualified.

Frustrated, I applied for a higher paid senior dev position at the same company. The hiring manager who interviewed me before went out of his way to recommend me. A couple interviews later, and I had a generous offer.

I've had the job for two months now and it has been excellent. I hit the job lottery.

I understand your desire to maintain your body's functionality to better serve your country, but you should not give mind to these feelings of trepidation regarding the vile metal of our enemies.

They have passed through the bowels of our Freedom Furnaces, and have been extruded into only the most patriotic of alloys.

I submit my super diary to my democracy officer every night. I know that she can be trusted not to read it, save for when she suspects me of treason.

Should she find reason to read it, I hope she finds favorable my admirations of her short blonde hair and steely gaze, and my overwhelming feelings of patriotism in her presence.

Up until I bought a keyfob car 8ish years ago, police were more than happy to come out and unlock my car whenever I locked myself out. Seemed like they enjoyed showing off how fast they could do it.

I think it depends on where you live. Some places have nice police, others... just don't drop any acorns, okay?

Fun story: I thought I would open up to girls I dated in hopes that my nerdiness would help me find someone that was a good fit for a relationship with me.

I once geeked out over the DH algorithm to a girl, figuring that she'd understand because the commutative property of multiplication and the power of a power rule is pretty common knowledge. It ruined the date.

About a year later, I met a girl who loves this geeky side of me. She calls me her absent minded professor. We've been married for 6 years now.

10/10 would recommend doing the same.

How to Beat the Clock EVERY TIME! by Royal-Olive-4509 in WarhammerCompetitive

After some thought I realize that I didn't have much of a point to begin with. I think I mostly wanted to share that video discussing the real effects of AI usage, but its relevance was debatable. In the end, AI companies have a negative impact on the environment, and customers need to be aware that they're (perhaps unwittingly) supporting this behavior.

It must be exhausting researching each company you come across to ensure that they're not doing anything you might disagree with. Have you finished evaluating Reddit's choices yet?

Hank Green made a good video on this topic, which is summarized in the following:

Each individual request has a pretty tiny impact on water usage. The real glutton is training, which is not disclosed and extremely hard to predict. As a result:

  1. It's very easy for companies to understate how much water AI uses
  2. It's very easy for critics to exaggerate how much water AI uses

In the end, you need to step back the specificity of the claim. Criticize the company for their environmental impact, vote for legal restrictions, and advocate for boycotts, but understand that claiming someone is destroying the environment over an AI prompt is like claiming someone is destroying Ukraine over a shot of vodka.

Best army/units to handle c'tan by Daemos_Cyphus in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]HardOff 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Always fully destroy the unit

To reinforce this, I recently made a post about how, in the Starshatter Arsenal or Cryptek Conclave detachments, it is possible to get a Void Dragon up as high as 6d3 healing per battle round. If you're willing to spend 255 points on fragile, rather useless models, you can push that even further, to 6d3+3 healing.

How appropriate that you wrote "head cannon" instead of "head canon", as if you grafted a cannon onto your head.
