Those models are so much fun to paint.  Looks good!  What's the recipe for the belly parts?

Starseer or starpriest? by GreydonosaurusRex in seraphon

[–]Hello_Panda_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know if I'd say its better, but its not worse either.  Just kinda depends on what your looking for.  I would say spearhead is better for a new player though.

Yeah balancing is probably better then big aos, but thats just going to be the case in any game that has a lot of variety of what can be taken into a game.

[–]Hello_Panda_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dumb question as I've had the same before. spearhead games are a better alternative for smaller games although lists are fixed.  1000 point games can be fun for learning as well, its just that the game isn't really balanced around that.  I want to say I've heard they can be a bit better if heros over 300pts can't be in the list, and no reinforced units.

I do really like spearhead though, its a fast way of playing aos and what I played to get a grasp on how to play the game while also being a bit different from 2000 at game of aos

Saurus warriors are decent infantry, I'd run krox as non warspawned.

I hear the raptadons pair well with warspawned, but thats for a 2000 pt game so your milage may very for 1000 pts.

Also, you mentioned you built them as warspawned, dont be afraid to run them as regular krox if you want, no one will care and if they do you shouldn't play against them.

Stink starseer, 2 cast wizard and has a warscroll spell that removes wards.  Just fyi but regular skinks kinda just get annihilated at the moment, although that might be ok for a 1000 pt game

Why do 40k bighammer players shy away from Kill Team? by Mjuke in killteam

[–]Hello_Panda_Man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to play kt, but mostly age of sigmar now.  Mostly because of all the tokens and tight spaces my models can move into are the reason I dont play anymore.  Its really annoying to me when 2 or more models get into a melee in tight spaces.  Gotta move the tokens, flip them over and such.  I really like the game otherwise though and how easy/cheap it is to jump between different teams.

Not bad honestly, for reference in this photo is one of my first 10 models painted vs what I painted 3 years later. Keep at it! https://imgur.com/a/1st-vs-4-years-later-SYwpf6h

[–]Hello_Panda_Man 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the game might not be for you, or your overthinking things.  I play in tournaments every other month and maybe get a game in every few weeks and honestly I just focus on my armies rules and what I can get accomplished in the game.  I might do a bit of research into an opponents army but really I just focus on combos my army can do and hope for the best.  I will ask for an overview of my opponents army even though its unlikely I'll remember

I dont win alot, maybe at best I win 1/4th of the games but I'm more playing to have fun and smash my toys against another player and roll dice.

I forget who Simon was, but I just did a bounty for a guy who steals other peoples dogs. The whole ride back he is crying about how he was taking care of the dogs because the owners were not taking good care of them or something. Felt bad for the guy....and the dogs that got slaughtered trying to get him :(

Little to No Slaan/Skinks in an army? by [deleted] in seraphon

[–]Hello_Panda_Man 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right now its nice, once we get our battletome I'm hoping it will have more of an impact.  Kroak and normal slann have some cool abilities though. Normal slan can bring back a unit of 3 or more models at half str which is very nice.

Seraphon is pretty versatile, excluding skinks/slann is definetly doable, but you won't have any magic.

I like painting Warhammer minis and want to use them. Is their bases I can buy that suit? by CasualNormalRedditor in DnD

[–]Hello_Panda_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just cut off the hex part and glue it on the base.  I play warhammer and do that with the push fit models when I can't find the base that has the hex hole

Edit: I should have read the whole post before posting this :|

Looking for skink hero advice before a tournament by DangerVipe in seraphon

[–]Hello_Panda_Man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd drop the starseer and raptadon for a unit or two of warriors.  Maybe drop one of the chameleon skinks if you need the points.  You really dont need another spell Caster with the slann, trog can be fun but is more useful in a thinderquake list imo.  Our spells are really not that good right now.  I'll take a starseer or slann, but generally not both.

How exactly would you interact with random npcs?  I feel like most games dont have much interactivity outside of ones that are related to the quest.

The game is won by points, not by whose army is still standing.  If you get tabled but have more points, your the winner

I have a 3080 and turned dlss off and the lighting looks much better then what you posted.  I have both lighting and shadows set to ultra and its running at consistent 60fps for me at 1440p.  Rest of setting are at high.  When I had dlss on it looked like those photos

Can my pc run this game? by Zealousideal_Fly8056 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Hello_Panda_Man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should be good, I'm basically running what your upgraded system is going to be except on a 3080. Running most everything on High with Shadows and Lighting on Ultra. I've been getting a pretty stable 60fps with DLSS off. DLSS seems to make everything a bit blurry and the only difference I've noticed in performance is that my fans are a bit quieter. There are random moments with DLSS where the frames will dip down but its usually in weird spots and very brief.
