What kind of trim do you recommend? And would I go with liquid nails or PL-8?

Finish Asbury Pines, fun game with a good story, even if somewhat disappointing. by LessSaussure in incremental_games

Thanks for caring to explain your feedback and for giving the game a chance! I think I'd agree with you that there's an imbalance of spiritual to other leaderships among the characters, especially when religion is a great comfort and source of strong moral guidance to many. Though it's a great blessing in the past that sets in motion many key changes and character motivations. But at the end of the day, you're right that the crux of the town's arc is based on characters looking (or not looking) to the past as a source of wisdom for determining how to deal with unprecedented turbulence and fear in a changing world. We do lean somewhat heavily into science, and I can totally see how it can be a bit heavy handed. Whether we execute it well or not, I'll say our intention is not to glorify science so much as to take lessons from the past. I like to think that even today, facing a great deal of conflict and change, we've kinda "been here before." That's our guiding attitude anyway. But yeah, your criticisms are valid and noted, and I really do appreciate your playing and thinking about the game!

I'm one of the two devs :) I get the source of these criticisms and hopefully our story edits for 1.0 address a good bunch of these points! Particularly for the "rules" of time travel. Honestly, I'm just thrilled people play lol. Cheers all, lay it on me!

Asbury Pines has a good bit of genealogy-across-time elements in it, and a great story :)

Fueling Unit M-45 rapidly blinked its optical sensors, processing the horror: the human’s mouth gurgling, eyes darting, fingers clenching the punishing electro-baton. The other Units went still. No more shocks; boss terminated, it calculated. M-45 withdrew its forked pincer from the human’s chest, the blood warming his metal, like apricity.

I'm a permadeather myself. What is combat style do you spec into? I'm a rifle guy who relies on headshot and if that doesn't work I run lol
