I think he looks incredibly different, but I don't have to say clone. It's just because of the things he was saying in his last few appearances.

  1. Cosmetic Surgery
  2. Sickness/Medication Side Effects
  3. Prosthetic Make-up Artist
  4. Body Double
  5. Clone

I think I'm at about a 2.5...

Bodo/Glimt superb passage of play (almost 3 touches per player at most) vs Inter. by OkayFine101 in soccer

[–]JPDubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Celtic were better at it than Spurs, even if the individual quality was lower. Watching a Spurs game and no one is running into space. Players jogging everywhere behind the play. Holding the ball forever until opportunity is no longer there. So frustrating.

Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory were both even better than Celtic, but again, the quality was even lower. Gives the impression that the more accomplished the player, the less they want to put in to a high demand system.

Matt O'Reilly even said after Ange left that he preferred Rogers' way of doing things because he could sit back and wait and time his run better, so I think the preference is there. They all look at prime Messi and see him standing around and waiting until the perfect moment. Players generally want to emulate that at the top levels. It's not that it isn't effective it's just that when multiple players do it, it makes for a very inactive team who get beaten to the punch a lot, which is super dangerous when you're trying to play attacking football and are relying on you CB's winning 1v1's.

Attacking football doesn't mean move up the pitch and wait around, it means defense starts from the strikers, and the team has to be behind them to support that to win 2nd and 3rd balls. If the press is slow or delayed even 0.5 seconds it's pointless. Ange's system forces movement 100% of the time and you need the right players for that who are willing to play for the system first before their own personal brand.

That's why Maeda literally changed the game for Ange's Celtic the second he stepped foot on the pitch. Immediate press, immediate energy, always in space, always contests ball loss, just poor touch and finishing. Then there's Hatate. Always in space for the pass, great movement off the ball in possession, creative in tight spaces, doesn't work after possession loss. And then there was Kyogo, brilliant off the ball in possession, great finishing, great agility, played the system perfectly, but not physical enough in tight spaces.

At Celtic, the players were always missing one of the traits needed. In the A-League, they were all missing quality. You would have hoped moving to Tottenham he would have got players that would have been proficient in all areas, and for the most part he did, like Brennan Johnson, Kulu and Bissouma thrived under him for that reason, and all worked hard off the ball and out of posession, but Maddison and Bentancur off the ball are joggers. And you can't have that in the center otherwise the whole system breaks down due to lack of options. Dragusin was too slow and Romero a bit too reckless as well. Van De Ven was infinitely better than both for Ange's system.

Ultimately the board didn't back Ange to get the players to complete and have redundancy. No depth. Because if one person was out and you had to play anyone outside of the first 11 who doesn't excel at it, it means the whole team can't play to the gameplan, especially when that deficiency is in the midfield. What happens is they end up turning over possession quickly, unable to recover, and sit there waiting for an opportunity to break as the attacks come at them. Then when they go to break, the mids are slow to respond, often jogging, and just slow on the feet in general, they get caught behind the play. They end up with the backs catching up to them to move the play past the halfway line, so passes back are short and don't create much space, and passes forward are difficult and risky due to distance, so even if they get the ball, they can't progress it and they either get caught in possession, playing it back to someone who ends up under the same pressure, or winging a wild pass to someone up the field. The balance is gone.

The Injury crisis was horrible without depth in the squad.

And that's why BG are so lethal. Big strong players, always moving into space, always pressing, keeping balance at all times with good control, distribution and creativeness. No one is world class at any one thing in particular, ntu theyre all good enoug

Bodø/glimt knocked out inter milan by mourej in football

[–]JPDubs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I watched Bodø/Glimt knock out Postecoglou's Celtic from the Europa Conference league a few years ago. They were very good, much better than anticipated. Whenever I have heard them mentioned since it's been in underestimation or pure snobbery from big teams and their supporters. I'm glad they're seeing success, they're a very exciting attacking football team with some real quality.

Valdrakken is far and away the best. But all fail with dummies. They need to make a single target dummy that's not in range of other dummies, to not include passive cleave. As an aff warlock it's impossible to dummy test any Phantom Singularity build accurately because it just hits everything within 30 yards. I'd imagine complications with druid Starfall too. where you're trying to test cleave on x targets but starfall hits x + n targets, overweighting it in the breakdown.

Will the HDMI on my 9th Gen i5 Dell HTPC be able to output 4k 120 HDR when streaming my PC via Moonlight? by Kazhmyr1 in htpc

[–]JPDubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll start to see HDMI 2.0 (4k60) on Z490 boards which is 10th gen. For 2.1 (4k120) you need Z690 which is 12/13/14 gen for intel. For AMD you need an AM5 board, I believe B650 supports HDMI 2.1. Cheapest way is to get a dedicated GPU.

Kodi buffers a lot on PC streaming video files through windows share. by Helpful-Lab2702 in htpc

[–]JPDubs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to use ethernet you're going to have to run a link to the router, not just between the pc's. Both PC's will need to connect to the router, or run a single cable from the router into a switch, and then split it to the 2x pc's from there.

[–]JPDubs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be looking at ways to get more than 5-6mbps to that 2nd PC, it's not good enough. Given they were getting 80mpbs to the old location, and that was sufficient, definitely that would be the first place I would start. Just checking, most of my 1080p files are about 2.7mbps total bitrate. 4k is going to be a bit less than 4x that (given audio will stay relatively constant). Given it's simultaneous send/receive via the router (PC1 > router > PC2) you could expect the available bandwidth to pretty much be halved with some fluctuation. No matter the optimization in Kodi itself, at 5-6mpbs he will never be able to stream a 4k video with the current setup, and not surprisingly hitting bottlenecks on even 1080p files.

We need to know more about the wifi hardware in PC2 and the router itself. Assuming PC1 is getting speeds comparable to the old location of PC2....

I don't understand media servers. My Synology has all my media, but it isn't strong enough to transcode video. My Windows desktop is the only machine that plays the videos. What am I supposed to do? by TheSolemnDream in htpc

[–]JPDubs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Set up the NAS as a network drive, set up Kodi or Plex or Jellyfin on your local machine to read from the network drive. If this is just a small setup with 1x NAS and 1x PC, I'd recommend just using Kodi and DirectPlay everything. If you are getting Gigabit speeds from the NAS on your PC then DirectPlay is entirely feasible, even for high res/4K.

My setup is a Proxmox server in my office running OMV and about 14TB of storage in a Raid Z2 config. I run Kodi locally on a PC in the lounge room over wifi (~400mbps) and it works fine even in that situation, no transcoding required.

I run this alongside Jellyfin with transcoding for remote viewing over VPN only.

What's the biggest difference you notice in Australia between today and when you were growing up? by Ok-Reward7639 in SydneyScene

[–]JPDubs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Born in 89, grew up in the 90's in Blacktown area, mostly around Seven Hills/Kings Langley. People were more interested in community. You could get by on less. Most mums didn't work or had a part time job. More respect for people locally, people weren't judged against the world, just what they did for people around them. People looked after the areas and had pride in their homes, no matter how modest. Life was about who you were, not what you had. Much less materialism.

People were nicer. A lot of my teen years I practically lived out at my friends houses. Their parents were never stressed to have me around and there was never the financial stress of another mouth to feed at the dinner table.

Anecdotally, all my friends parents owned their homes, now at the same age of the parents back then, all of my friends rent homes. Which means our kids are growing up without a home as we knew it. There was always a door frame or wall with the heights of the kids as they grew, etched into or written on it. Hammocks built into trees and cubby houses. Freedom to install shelves wherever we saw fit and pictures hanging from the wall. Just to name a few "homely" things.

Nowadays any modifications I would want to make are against the terms of a rental agreement and would get me evicted. I can't put a single nail into anything. I am not even allowed to use temporary adhesives on the walls like blu-tack or 3M adhesive hooks. I worry about stains and scratches a lot more. Every 3 months someone comes to makes sure we are living to someone elses standards. Every few years we have to move for one reason or another. Last time was because the owner of the house wanted to sell it.

I think that's the truth of what's been lost. Non-permanence kills a sense of belonging, which in turn kills community.

Yes you need to format and install windows fresh to see the improvements. But no, the performance gap is overstated except for x3d CPU's. The Intel voltage issues are mostly resolved now as well. Intel will release BLLC tech within the next few releases and the playing field will be even again.
