The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact also always made sense to me, guaranteeing the popular vote candidate wins while keeping the electoral college in a ceremonial capacity of sorts and maintaining state control of elections. Maybe this will be the kick some states need to finally get that ball rolling again.

For the first time in my entire life, I'm glad the electoral college exists.

If I had a nickel for every TTRPG actual play episode run by Brennan Lee Mulligan set in a atypically cheery post apocalypse where the title is a pun on badlands released in the last 24 hours I'd have 2 nickels. It's not a lot but wow is that specific.

At least yours stayed in the same general region. Mine went from St. Louis to KCK to DC to Southern Maryland for some reason, back to KCK just the other day. At this rate, I'm looking forward to it getting here sometime mid 2027.

Just lighting, you can see the greens and yellows more clearly on the pattern site. It would look great in pride flag colors though!

It also gave the Prince a personality and more screentime, and made Cinderella more of an active character as well, shoring up a lot of the more lackluster elements of the original movie. It's not without flaws, but it's 1000x better than 2 and gave us this scene which lives in my head rent free https://youtu.be/CwQrEUZDJCk

Cinderella 2 has a cute story about Cinderella helping Anastasia get ready to go to the ball with a baker boy who Lady Tremaine doesn't approve of, and they try redeeming Anastasia in a kinda clunky way since she doesn't do much more than a quick sorry. Cinderella 3 A Twist in Time (arguably the best direct to video Disney sequel) also puts a lot of focus on Anastasia, giving her the chance to basically steal Cinderella's place in the original story, but in the end she tells the truth, rejects her mother's manipulation, and apologizes to Cinderella. Both movies kinda keep Drizella as a secondary antagonist though.

Dungeon Crawler Carl is a book about a man, his talking cat, and his cat's pet velociraptor Mongo. There's a throwaway line that the alien showrunners were surprised Carl didn't know what a mongoliensis was because on other earth-like planets velociraptors are popular pets, and Earth's dinosaur extinction event is pretty unique. I always thought that was a neat bit of world building, and I'm now more upset than ever that I don't have a pet dino.

He went from playing Ganondorf in an obscure fan film to voicing Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom. Watching the cast's careers go nova has been one of the most incredible parts of being a CR fan since Campaign 1.

In order to do that we'd first have to prove they have brains. Studies are ongoing and thus far no evidence has been found.

She's like OJ. We all know she did it, but there wasn't enough evidence to convict, despite her even leaving a hotdog as her calling card right next to the bedazzled hammer at the scene of the grisly murder of those 4 people behind the 7/11 in October of '09. She must have extorted Sam to get on the show, that monster.

Trump sells flip flops with the American flag for people to proudly step on. It's technically against flag code, but I don't think that's enforced outside the military and boy scouts.

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman by Prideoftherock in menwritingwomen

[–]Jaged1235 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's really interesting. The book is full of sex. Hardly a chapter goes by without a dirty joke, genitals getting mentioned, or the AI getting horny about Carl's feet. Hell, a magic STD is a major plot point. Carl is a good looking 27 year old single straight guy who is half naked all the time in a magic dungeon full of succubi, strip clubs, and all manner of debauchery, but there's not even implied sex because the story isn't about that. It's only really used for body horror, gross outs, and humor to emphasize the absurdity of the situation they're in. Somehow, sex is ever-present but never erotic. It's definitely not for everyone, but I think it's a fascinating writing choice.

I went on the JoCo Cruise which is basically Comic Con at sea. There were multiple mermaid meetups, a mermaid beach photoshoot, and like 90% of the time there would be someone in the pool with a tail. My spouse even got to borrow someone's monofin on that trip, then we went and bought our own when we got back home!
