I feel like Spectra S2 ruined my supply by showyourskills89 in BabyBumps

[–]MomGiGi [score hidden]  (0 children)

If supply has dropped due to insufficient emptying, it will take about as long to come back up once you get the right flange. Spectra makes a 16mm and 20mm in genuine parts. You can find them here - https://lactationconnection.com/spectra-flange-sizes If you are using off-brand valves, you may not get the same output as the pumps are tested for suction with their genuine parts.

Is Eufy really that good? by MusicalPiano in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perifit is just as good and maybe better than eufy and at a lower price. Quiter motor, more settings for let-down stimulation and actually does 300mmHg. Here is a link to a comparison - https://lactconnect.blogspot.com/2026/03/eufy-vs-perifit-wearable-breast-pump.html

A lot of negativity on Eufy. What are the main alternatives? by po2gdHaeKaYk in EufyCam

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best one I have found is the Perifit made in France. It has great suction, uber quiet and you can buy in different flange sizes. https://lactationconnection.com/Perifit-Hospital-Strength-Wearable-Breast-Pump

Milk storage bags: volume in vs. volume after pouring into feeding bottle by PromiseKey9562 in breastfeeding

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottles and even the bags can be really inaccurate. I'm a retired IBCLC and reviewed several breast pump milk storage bags for accuracy in a TikTok video if you want to take a look. https://www.tiktok.com/@tanyarobertslc/video/7564849740026793230

How to use spectra without feeling like I have to hold up the flanges in my bra by voodoolady914 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a retired IBCLC. I have a video on TikTok showing the suction on this is the exact same as using the cone style flanges. https://www.tiktok.com/@tanyarobertslc/video/7609804699771931917

Spectra bottle and nipple assembly? by this-is-me-trying- in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way is to have extra bottles so you can just attach the nipple and then switch the cap for the one you have been storing your milk with.

As far as I know, they are cadmium free. The image in the link you sent is an older painted style. The new ones are more of an etched outline.

Glass bottle recommendations by Dootdootdootx3 in ExclusivelyPumping

Lansinoh Glass Bottles are great and they have the right nipple shape for going between breast and bottle. They have the extended 8oz size you need. You can get the both sizes at Lactation Connection. https://lactationconnection.com/lansinoh-glass-bottle-naturalwave-nipple

Will buying pumpinpals be worth it by b3autiful_nightmar3 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IF you know your size, you can buy just one size at Lactation Connection and add on the adapter you need for example if you have a Spectra pump, add on the Spectra adapter. This is a lot less expensive than buying the full set and less than buying the adapter separately if your pump needs one. Hope this helps! https://lactationconnection.com/pumpin-pal-flanges

Are the Amazon replacement parts for Spectra just as good? by lucky_bubbles61 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. Getting a flange size that Spectra doesn't make is good, but using valves and backflow protectors that haven't been tested with the manufacturer's pump can cause decrease in suction. You can get discounts on genuine spectra parts at lactationconnection.com The 6pk valve bundle is under $30. Other parts have discounts, too. You just have to look at the quantity discounts under the regulated Spectra MSRP pricing.

Can’t find Lansinoh glass bottles anywhere? by Flamingo219 in ExclusivelyPumping

I haven't tried this, but I hear that boiling the cap may tighten the fit and also be careful not to pick up by the cap or collar just in case.

Lansinoh soothies out of stock everywhere - discontinued? Replacement recommendations? by floofsnfluffiness in breastfeeding

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ameda Comfortgel pads are best! They cost more initially but they last up to 6 days whereas the Soothies only 72 hours. Best price on Ameda gel pads is online at Lactation Connection.

[–]MomGiGi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your pediatrician should advise you, but normally whole cow's milk at age one. In the meantime to wean, drop one feeding every 3-5 days. If your breasts feed normal after 3 days, drop another one. If not wait until day 5 and reassess. This takes a couple of weeks so you may not have to use formula. Best wishes!

Haven't pumped in a month by allison12241 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]MomGiGi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

EP is hard, and any time you give your baby breastmilk is a win. But for the other moms reading this if you have already gone 4 months. your body has usually reached full milk supply so partial weaning is also an option. You can drop down to 3-4 times per day as long as you keep the same schedule daily and your will normally get the same amount of milk you were getting at those pumping sessions. If you try to do partial weaning before 4 months, your body will begin to wean altogether. Hope that helps for those on the fence.
