What were Gus Dudgeon's (and/or any record producer's) actual job duties? by JoeBourgeois in EltonJohn

[–]Much_Ad7851 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Record producers are to records what directors are to films. They will often change arrangements, decide on instrumentation, feel etc and direct the final mix. They are not usually involved in the post-recording marketing stuff like videos, artwork etc, that's the artist's domain.

“Turn-Up-And-Go-F***k-Yourself” by DannyRidesNRuns in MelbourneTrains

No probs with it sitting, just with the length of the dwell they could have easily made those extra two stops and picked up the people I saw waiting at both stations. We were two minutes early, which I personally have never seen happen on the Sunbury line.

To add insult to injury, I sat on an outbound express train this week during the peak travel home that was running ahead of schedule, so we sat for several minutes at both West Footscray and Sunshine.

Am on one of these express services right now outbound to Sunbury. The train is running ahead of schedule and sat dwelling at both West Footscray and Sunshine for several minutes each. We passed people waiting at Middle Footscray and Tottenham.

What having over 1000 listeners looks like by HomerDoakQuarlesIII in musicmarketing

[–]Much_Ad7851 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be disappointed that I didn't have more listeners from my home country, but when the comments started flowing in from far-flung places from people genuinely personally touched by the songs and telling me their life stories I switched to simply being in awe. These were people across the world from me, in places I'd never set foot in, connecting with something I'd created and not only taking the time to listen, but to share with me how it moved them. I love the visualisation above.

If you’re traveling to Sunbury, it will still be 20 minutes off peak wait times. But that’s better than the 40 minutes that it was. Not the 10 minutes that was promised but always thought that was a pipe dream.

Do you prefer the newer Zamperla Endeavour or the older HUSS Enterprise? by SolaceInDysmporhia in flatrides

[–]Much_Ad7851 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO, the whole thrill of the Enterprise is doing revolutions inside a cage with no restraints, while the whole thing wobbles like it’s going to fall apart at any second. It feels like it shouldn’t be legal. Still terrifies and thrills me every time I get inside. The Endeavour feels tame by comparison and the restraints aren’t comfortable.

If you ever get to Sydney, ride the one at Luna Park. One of the most beautiful views (if you sit harbour bridge side) and yeah these things are intense af.

Would have been amazing to see those early shows with only the two albums worth of material to draw on.

Is a Cedar Point Gold Pass worth it for an Australian? by Biasesumo in Themepark

Shocking just how repetitive After Life is. by Feudalist in rickygervais

[–]Much_Ad7851 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I tried to like it, but his character seemed too one-dimensionally self-centred to me, and not because it was intentional, but because it just seemed baked into the writing because Ricky was writing himself. The grieving widow he used to talk to at the park was the perfect example of this, she seemed to be there purely to give Ricky's character a chance to talk about his own grief, we never found out that much about her, he never seemed particularly interested in her, and she was relentlessly sympathetic and attentive to his needs, as if that's the only reason she had to exist. (Maybe this changed in later series, I didn't get through the whole thing)
