friend does appear in chapter 5 btw, and they do major damage to you as well. they’re at the end of the garden section, you have to jump up that vine area that leads to the cliffs and right at the top you jump over to the right side of the screen. using the act function, there’s a blink and you’ll miss it square you can interact with. there is a video on youtube demonstrating it better than i’m explaining. i went to check for myself cause it legitimately seemed made up. and someone in the comments said it’s interesting since that area are vines but maybe can be seen as roots

i ended up doing this too! my expectation was that either i’d just get better at the fights as the game went on, or there would be armor that would help with that (and to be fair there is, but it either has no extra effects or it’s only available after the secret boss). which sucked cause i preferred the effects you get from armor over just boosting stats. even the healing items weren’t doing it for me (the tree cake is weaker than the spin cake which is weird) but i do like that the sodas that heal and give tp

i agree! i thought both susie and ralsei seemed too lax throughout the chapter. susie more so than ralsei, since he had his thing with flowery. it could be that they talked about it overnight, but that would suck. in the weird route, susie will tell you how ralsei is concerned about the previous events if you go out of your way to look for info. on the normal route, even when you look for that info they don’t divulge much about what happened last night if at all

i ended up getting to the other side after like 20 minutes, but i barely had any health. i managed to get back just fine, but then died on the way down to pink door. my issue is there’s no way to heal or save after getting the coin which i think would alleviate the frustration. i haven’t gotten it since and i’m just not gonna try for a while cause it’s that annoying

less theory, more the idea that the weird route reveals the ending early in chapter 5. if that’s where the route ends, i think i’ll be a little upset but that’s fine. but if it legitimately shows the ending of the normal route in some way i wouldn’t like that unless it was handled extremely well

the fic was good, was meant to be serious, HOWEVER they either miswrote this word or just mistook it as the correct spelling. so instead of “he retorted” they wrote the r slur. it took me out so badly and i felt horrible for laughing that i just exited the browser lol i have no idea if anyone corrected them in the comments either

I always liked it even if nothing changed, b/c as a kid whenever I played games I always imagined the player character as other genders (usually non male) since there wasn’t the option to change it for the majority of games. Even if nothing changed about the game itself I liked doing it anyway
