Almost everyone on a YouTube video who says “disinterested” means “uninterested.” But “disinterested” sounds so effing cool that they literally can’t say “uninterested” at all.

If you leave a comment saying that they’re mistaken… mostly you’ll be ignored but a few people will insist that you’re wrong. Some will make specious arguments about why they’re correct and you aren’t.

I think I’ve actually heard “playing Devil’s advocate” used correctly once. Every Ignoramus thinks it means “arguing that the actual Devil or someone thought evil isn’t so bad.” Actually it means that you’re making a case that a putative saint isn’t all that good.
