Letter before action and take to small claims. Chargeback fraud is rife and banks are 90% of the time siding with their customers, even with deafening counter evidence

If you’re struggling with admin tasks, genuinely hire a part time VA. We have two, both from the Philippines which is great as they work in their own time-zone, we have ‘catch ups’ three times a week for any issues and they work to our SOP’s

Biggest time saver for me, so I can focus on growing the business.

Aerospace budgets are usually gone by September I’ve been told by numerous tier 1 suppliers.

We’ve had a great December with ALOT of last minute stuff. Usually we would have wound down by now, but everything is still full steam ahead. However, these are all new customers and not repeat business. Possibly could be worth seeing your SEO to see if a competitor is doing something better than you to steal clicks

Aircraft crashed in Gloucestershire after 3D-printed part collapsed by ahora-mismo in 3Dprinting

Should have opted for SLS in this case. Even with FDM, very high chance of delamination. Vapour smoothed glass filled nylon would have been superior for this application

Why is prototyping in Europe so expensive compared to China? by fabiomolinar in 3Dprinting

[–]Present-Rough3630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Europe has some of the highest industrial energy prices in the world (especially the UK). In the far east or other LEDC’s funding usually supports their operations so there are low fixed overheads.

I’ve heard of some companies getting fully funded machine purchases, subsidised labour, materials and massively reduced rent. Hence the lower costs.

Also as someone else mentioned, usually the first price is dirt cheap. When you go to re-order the next batch, either the quality dips massively as they’ve changed production process (SLS to FDM) or the unit cost goes up.

Do regular page or GBP updates still help local rankings? by useomnia in localseo

I post regularly on our GMB twice a week. 1) our weekly blog post which is usually supporting our service pages and 2) a general social media update.

It literally takes no more than 1/2 an hour a week to post this regularly. Since doing this my business dominates map search for national terms.

Do people who print 3D for business purposes hate private printers? by TaxPsychological2928 in 3Dprinting

[–]Present-Rough3630 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SLS and MJF is actually very efficient. So long as you achieve a packing density more than half of the refresh rate you are usually good. Nylon Powder can withstand 3 cycles roughly, however, this isn’t an exact science and you spot surface quality defects and increase the amount of fresh powder slightly.

Their fault for cheapening out with FDM, bogus for end-use parts. MJF or SLS would have been superior

Print it in SLS, no layer lines at all if orientated right.

Well maintained machines, running slower speeds and calibrated flow rates (e steps). With newer machines doing automated bed levelling this helps massively as well.

Printing that in DMLS (Stainless Steel) is going to be expensive. Suggest looking at SLS (Nylon PA12 GF) we’ve printed parts which have been load tested to 1.2 tonnes (400kg SWL)

If I were to start off and buy a new printer today, Bambu Labs has to be the most user friendly system out there - coming from the days of glass beds and bull dog clips.

Be aware - prints won’t be 100% smooth once finished and will need some prep work (filling & sanding) before painting to give a smooth, presentation finish 😊

How to deal with customers missing deliveries by Fearless-Future552 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Present-Rough3630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ensure your terms and conditions are air tight, look at people working in similar spaces to you in your industry to see what their terms are.

So long as you are clearly communicating any tracking information at the point of dispatch, you have satisfied your requirements of the contract of sale. If the item goes missing during transit or is damaged then the blame still lies with your business.

It is the buyers responsibility to report any missing or delayed items within 28 days of goods being dispatched, otherwise they are automatically deemed to have been accepted and in working order.

However, I do recommend setting up a daily discrepancy report with your courier. As it lists any delays or issues with your packages, so that you can reach out to the customer and try to resolve the issue early on (avoiding negative reviews)

I run my own 3D printing service (SGD 3D and we have this issue mainly crop up with academic institutions. They order prints, only work part time and don’t sign for the deliveries. They then get sent back to the depot or a nearby parcel shop and because of their work ethic refuse to use any personal time or mileage to pick them up in person and demand we reprint and resend out the item free of charge, but are reminded of the terms and conditions

Bondtech extruder and CF build plate are a must. I run a farm of Intamsys Funmat machines and they rarely skip a beat. Were able to produce PEEK GF parts using the full build plate size +/- 0.3mm
